Just logged in and all my hero levels were reset. Buh?

Edit: Never mind, they're back now. Weird.

Well that was weird.

Levelled Sylvanas to level 9. Went to select the master portrait, and it said 'you must be level 9'. Checked Sylvanas on my profile, and she was still at the xp I went into the last game with, at level 8.

I exited the game, came back in, and she was back to the start of level 8, with exactly 0 experience into the level.

Played another game with her, and after she levelled up to level... 2. Checked the rest of my heroes, and suddenly they were all at the beginning of their respective levels, with 0 experience. Not level 1, but with exactly 0 experience into whatever level they were already at.

Left the game, came back like 30 min later, and boom, everything back to normal, Sylvanas at 9, and portrait could be selected.

Gotta love those Blizzard databases.

Some people on reddit reported similar problems.
Great it worked out for you.

Just played against this Abathur, he was actually insane. Went a heavy mine build also which was annoying. But his base play was just really really good, he got our core to 10% by himself over the period of a few team fights.

We won in the end, but damn that abathur.

I read about that Abathur player on reddit. If poeple play with him in HL, he always uses Abathur, whether it makes sense or not.
They "Shouldn't tell him what to do", IIRC

the man is named Abathur, how are so sure he isn't actually Abathur

Oh shit! That Abathur guy is my buddy. Kinda. Not really. I've played with him multiple times in HL. He's a fun guy and I hate his abathur.

Grab the cheapest warrior, specialist, and assassin that interest you; that way you're not at the mercy of the free rotation when it comes to completing daily quests. In between the daily quests and leveling your heroes up to lv5 (which gives gold too), you'll build up gold pretty quickly.

If anyone missed this late last night and wants to watch:

Korean Heroes of the Storm Super League

Cast by Tasteless & Artosis

Twitch VOD link.

First match is like an all-star show match from non HOTS players, so don't be alarmed.

Yoshichan

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Johanna seems.. overpowered.
Yeah, you could almost say that she at certain points become... unstoppable.

Was a good event, the game can do well in Korea with OGN backing it. Hopefully it's the start of something good.

I'm liking some of the production. The bumpers and such were interesting (the one showing 5 players choosing heroes and joining the battle as the event started was awesome) - it all felt very advanced compared to what we have currently.

There were a few awkward moments where they were waiting on the Korean announcer/announcers before going and the camera settled on them just starring at their screens for long moments before their cue to speak began, but I enjoyed it a lot.

Tasteless and Artosis are definitely still behind on the knowledge front and comfort calling HOTS, but they certainly make up for it in enthusiasm.

I'm actually warming up to Chen gaining Unstoppable on his drink. Like, seriously, what does he gain from it? He still doesn't have a massive amount of damage, so he can stay in the backline for a while and poke the low health damage dealers in order to lead them out. Unlike Johanna he doesn't have any hard CC, just a few slows, so having a high uptime on Unstoppable would honestly be not so bad.

Actually, I'd give him Unstoppable on drink and one other buff: increase the damage of his Brew+Fire against Minions to give him better wave clear.

This + fixing his Q so it actually puts you behind the enemy player would do a world of good for Chen. He's my favorite tank, just needs a few buffs :)

What about making it have a short CD, like 2 seconds of unstoppable on drink, but it can't re-activate for 10 seconds.

Seems complicated. They could maybe bake in relentless on his D or completely remove the cooldown on it. So either the drink bates out stuns like it does now, but you can still get away or it baits out stuns but then you can just drink again and still probably survive.

But getting stunned out and dying isn't really his problem.

I feel Chens biggest issues are that he constantly has to stop to drink and he can't actually protect his back line. He's way too easy to run past, and then he stops to drink.

If I were to buff him I'd probably give him his slows from talents as baseline and then fix his Q like you mentioned.

As a warrior Chen wants to eat stuns for his team mates and he can bait them out with drink... The problem is there's no reason to stun Chen while he's drinking because Chen doesn't really do anything when he's not drinking.

He's not an assassin, and he has no displacement besides barrel. So if you get out of position, get stunned, and die it's not because you're squishy it's because your out of position.

Played a little bit of the game today just doing tutorial and vs ai matches. Game seems pretty neat.

Johanna is pretty close to perfect- I think they may pull the stun off Condemn though- they claimed Stitches was too good with his relatively short CD stun and well..... hers is really close to it and comes out even faster.

or maybe they can give stitches his stun back!

I seriously doubt giving him Unstoppable would make him actually unstoppable. If he jumps into 5 people and can drink (meaning he also has to not be pre-CC'd) he lets his teammates push in or slows and blocks the enemy team afterward. His shield alone isn't going to keep him alive.

Basically, Chen can either get some damage/displacement/heavier slows to round him out more, or they can increase what he does right now which makes him great against poke/burst comps or while playing with a dive comp. As you said, he doesn't have a lot of threat while in the backline, and no one picks his damage talents because he doesn't have enough survivability without his tanking talents. I'd rather increase what he's currently good at. If I was going to make him more well rounded without just buffing him like you'd buff other warriors, it would be increasing his minion wave clear.

And speak of the devil, some upstart team is trying to use Chen against Complexity: http://www.twitch.tv/solidjakegg

Yeah, it's by far the easiest MOBA to pickup. It really helps to have a few friends who have the same general gaming "goals" as you do to play with, as you get an XP boost for playing with friends. For example, I play more to have fun (while sill taking the game seriously), and am not hyper-competitive / ultra-skilled, and i've found a few other similar players. It's more fun with friends. Solo-queue QM can get kind of quiet at times.

One thing is to not discount characters you first try out when you first start playing. When I first started playing, Tyrande was the 2nd character I tried and I *hated* her. But now, 4-5 months later, I came back to her and found out I really enjoy her. Ditto Azmodan, who I found confusing as hell when first starting out, but now he makes a lot more sense.

Some chars (Valla, Lili, ETC) are pretty straightforward; others are... *considerably* less so.

Yea tried out supporting since that's what I main in LoL at a decently high level but it's not nearly as effective in these lower level quick matches. I'll just have to settle for dunking with Raynor for awhile until I can get some more unlocks to get Tychus who I've seen is pretty fun.

Now that I own Jaina and Zeratul, I'm not sure who I should focus on first. But I need to get good with these, Thrall is lacking as an Assassin in HL (to me, as much as I like the character). And I need to raise my assassin game (I usually prefer Warriors).

My love for melee is telling me Zeratul though, any tips? What are the must have talents?

If it matters at all to you, ride the Zeratul train while he's really strong right now. When PTR hits this week and patch hits next Tuesday that may change either by nerfs to Zera or buffs to others, so now would've the easiest time
to learn.

Honestly Jaina is super strong right now too and everyone expected nerfs (though no major ones were reported from the build they just showed). I just think it's easier to learn a melee while they are strong or a bit overtuned versus ranged which is almost always easier to pick up.

Haha, Leoric is awesome. Love his wave clear, team presence, and fast respawn. I tried not to die, but I'll sacrifice if it secures a kill or saves a teammate.

I really enjoy fucking with an enemy Butcher. Playing as Li Li with a Johanna on my side just makes The Butcher nearly useless as he spends so much of his time blinded, and I love every minute of it.

Been trying to get better at this game.

Anyone have any recommended podcasts?

Town Hall Heroes is the top level stuff. They talk about new heroes/patch changes as well as about the meta and the competitive scene.

Into The Nexus is two dudes talking about enjoying Heroes. There's also sections about new heroes/patch changes, but little emphasis on competitive play. Their perspective is more from skill point where the majority of players lie.

Both are good listens and you can learn from each. The information from THH is more reliable to be factually correct in all phases of the game, while the information from ITN is probably more relevant to someone who just plays the game because they enjoy it and may be skewed a bit or misinformed to some degree as to the overall affect of certain changes/use of heroes/etc.

So excited for Kaelthas Nerf. Just had a game where we stomping, 25 kills to 10. All our buildings up and we got line to core. He just kills almost everyone single handheldy and they catch up in levels and win.

It's a bit silly. Having a single character that can dictate a fight that much.

Aw yeah, 14-13 Hero League record so far. Above .500...until I go on a losing streak I bet ha. Quick Match I'm 31-25. I'm slightly above average! Yes! :p

He is pretty awesome. I fear the PTR tomorrrow/patch next week and what might become of him. Hopefully he makes it through.

I've had a few games against or with a Leoric where he seemed legit OP and I could see what all the hubbub was about. So fun, though. I just hope Monk is just as fun regardless of viability.

Get in mind what you are interested in. Wait to play them on free rotation. Buy the ones you enjoy most regardless of the gold price.
