Picked this up the other day on Blu-ray.
The Choose Your Own Adventure style works wonderfully and makes it a real blast to watch the film multiple times. I managed to kill off everyone, including the main character, about midway thorugh the movie, ending it abruptly. Brought me back to my childhood reading all those CYOA books. :lol
Awesome.
The movie's fairly average, but these funky features elevate it to a level worth purchasing IMO.
It seems that Fox may re-release this? Are they doing this crap for Mr. and Mrs. Smith as well? The BD coming out seems to be identical to the original DVD release, not the unrated release. Obviously there's room for the four commentaries and ALL the extras (in SD I think) that the unrated has.Kolgar said:As for myself, I think the next movie I'm looking forward to is Live free or Die Hard. But... I don't want any theatrical version on Blu-ray if the godforsaken DVD is going to have an unrated cut. What, really, is the excuse for this? One article I read said, "they didn't have time." Bullcrap!
+1 DVD sale, even though it may rape my eyeballs.

1. Is the player multi voltage so I will be able to plug it into uk power supply or will I need a step down?
2. I know that HD-DVD has no region protection but what about for regular DVD's will it play all region DVD's or if not is there a region hack for it.
Thanks for any help.

Most of them. All Fox releases are region coded (in the US at least), as are most Disney ones and a few Sony ones.Kabuki Waq said:i thought BDs were also all region free?

Strangely it various depending on the country, so for example the region A Casino Royale and Spider-Man Trilogy are both region locked but the region B versions aren't. And Spider-Man came out here first, so it can't be to discourage importing.
In any case, it's one of my favourite features of HD DVD. I have a UK player but can continue to import with impunity, while with my US PS3 I can keep importing BDs but it pretty much rules out impulse buys in HMV or Virgin.
Just checked mine and it's been changed to an A3 too. It's still "In Process," but wow, way to man up to their sales. Best Buy just earned some serious points with me.GONZO said:My BBFB order was just upgraded to an A3!!!! That's freaking sweet man, apparently the site got flooded with orders and is upgrading most of the people that they can't send a A2 to. So a brand new toshiba A3 for 99 bucks. Can't beat that at all man.

I wonder if this will have the two pack-in movies.
Angel said:Thanks for that mrklaw will look into the firmware, not too bothered about it being region free have my PS3 for upscaling region 2 dvd's, just would be nice to be able to put all my disks in one player.
So anyone got hold of Ratatouille still waiting to hear if its A and B coded, just picked up Cars as that is reported as being playable in UK PS3's.
Certainly better than having a region B playermrklaw said:actually the situation being in the UK with a region A player is pretty good. Region coding seems mostly enforced for US titles, and then mostly for premiere releases. Even fox don't usually enforce on their catalogue stuff.
