It would be awful if we only got "big name" movies in HD.Sir Fragula said:I will, but only because you misspell it.
20 Million Miles to Earth eh? Seems like a film that really doesn't need higher definition. Casablanca I could understand, what with the quality of the transfer... but this?

Simply put, Blade Runner: The Final Cut is the must-have DVD and high-def release of the year. It delivers everything we love about the thoughtful, hand-crafted approach to creating special editions - the kind made for enthusiasts by enthusiasts - and brings that level of quality and comprehensiveness to the high-definition arena for the first time. Best of all, it does this without resorting to gimmicky pop-ups, picture-in-picture and other interactive trickery. There's a lesson to be learned there. Everyone involved in this effort should be extremely proud. It's the kind of release we live for. It deserves, and receives, our highest recommendation.

Both are dual format, btw.

Agenda? No I have a format preference, if you're insinuating what I've made plainly clear gods know how many times. A format preference that has fuck all to do with me questioning whether such an old release would even benefit from a High Definition release.Onix said:Simply looking at the pics, tells me you have an agenda.

The Main Event said:I love my combo discs. Universal should do the same and lower it too.
Xater said:But he was like "NOOOO" because of the dual format comment and not that they are combos.
Way more interesting would be to know when those are actually out.
Availability: This title will be released on February 26, 2008.
Meh, lending to a friend who doesn't have a HD-DVD player? Letting the kids watch it in their room's DVD player? Any situation where you want to watch the disc but don't have access to a HD-DVD drive basically...Solo said:I hate them. Looks ugly on the packacking and what the hell do you need the DVD for? If youre buying HD DVDs, chances are youve got the player to play them.
I look forward to the day when combo releases die.

Interesting enough both blu-ray and hd-dvd versions are same price. Wonder if the companies are finally figuring out people don't want to pay extra for the combo bullshit.
The Main Event said:Because my brother, parents and most of my friends don't have an HD DVD player yet. Extremely convenient for me to bring a movie and be able to watch it wherever I go.
My HD DVD/DVD Video Essentials calibration disc probably is my most useful yet.
I don't really care about the artwork on the disc. I think the biggest issue with the idea since the beginning has always been the price (and maybe playback problems for some, but I never ever had a single issue with them on both my A2 and XA2).

The Sammy BD-P1400 is now $299.
This is the sweet one that bitstreams not only TrueHD, but DTS-HD MA as well.
