I will, but only because you misspell it. :D

20 Million Miles to Earth eh? Seems like a film that really doesn't need higher definition. Casablanca I could understand, what with the quality of the transfer... but this?

It would be awful if we only got "big name" movies in HD.

I pretty much only buy classic films, so that's the big draw of HD for me.
Even if not that visually impressive, it's a step up.

Picked up Queen rocks Montreal/Wembley finally.
Was in the back at Best Buy but not on the shelf, guy was pretty embarrassed oddly enough.
Anyway, great pick up and makes me really wish I had a real sound system :lol

Simply looking at the pics, tells me you have an agenda.

Just watched Superbad BD. Awesome movie :lol Great transfer to boot too.

Also switched back and forth between the PCM and TrueHD tracks, couldn't discern any difference on my set.

BR group needs to work on packaging. Specifically, the plastic that holds the disc on is very brittle. Out of the 10 movies that I have, 2 have been broken out of retail packaging. Just got Superbad, and both disc holders are broken.

They need to use the one that DVD cases have that are divided into two sections. You can push these down to release the disc. I just works. Bargain bin DVDs have these, it can be too expensive to make, especially considering the margins they make on these BR sales.

Bill Hunt reviews Blade Runner: The Final Cut (DVD/BR/HDDVD). All five discs.

Mostly A's

Simply put, Blade Runner: The Final Cut is the must-have DVD and high-def release of the year. It delivers everything we love about the thoughtful, hand-crafted approach to creating special editions - the kind made for enthusiasts by enthusiasts - and brings that level of quality and comprehensiveness to the high-definition arena for the first time. Best of all, it does this without resorting to gimmicky pop-ups, picture-in-picture and other interactive trickery. There's a lesson to be learned there. Everyone involved in this effort should be extremely proud. It's the kind of release we live for. It deserves, and receives, our highest recommendation.

Pre-ordered the Ultimate version a while ago. :D

hmm, I know this may be incredibly lame but I just The Notebook and loved it. No plans to release this in HD (New Line, Time Warner)?

Ending was a little clichéd, but the whole story is quite touching I thought. I really like Rachel McAdams too, one of the most beautiful and radiant smiles.

It would balance out my collection of action/killing/Planet Earth/Ratatouille/Final Fantasy.

The site is blocked at work, can you maybe post the video/transfer portion of the bluray review? I only watched Blade Runner on VHS!

Agenda? No I have a format preference, if you're insinuating what I've made plainly clear gods know how many times. A format preference that has fuck all to do with me questioning whether such an old release would even benefit from a High Definition release.

Both are dual format, btw.

Non-combo format Blu-ray

Interesting enough both blu-ray and hd-dvd versions are same price. Wonder if the companies are finally figuring out people don't want to pay extra for the combo bullshit.

Higher cost.

Actually, Warner Bros. lowered the MSRP for their HD DVD Combo discs, so all their future combo releases will be priced the same as the BD version.

I love my combo discs. Universal should do the same and lower it too.

I hate them. Looks ugly on the packacking and what the hell do you need the DVD for? If youre buying HD DVDs, chances are youve got the player to play them.

I look forward to the day when combo releases die.

Meh, lending to a friend who doesn't have a HD-DVD player? Letting the kids watch it in their room's DVD player? Any situation where you want to watch the disc but don't have access to a HD-DVD drive basically...

For animation I doubt the quality impact of only having one 15Gb layer [until they start mass producing TL discs] is even noticable; that stuff probably encodes really small regardless.

Because my brother, parents and most of my friends don't have an HD DVD player yet. Extremely convenient for me to bring a movie and be able to watch it wherever I go.

My HD DVD/DVD Video Essentials calibration disc probably is my most useful yet.

I don't really care about the artwork on the disc. I think the biggest issue with the idea since the beginning has always been the price (and maybe playback problems for some, but I never ever had a single issue with them on both my A2 and XA2).

This is so mine. I loved this series, and I have the Absolute Edition as well.

So reading the Bladerunner review over at Digital Bits, it appears likely that the full eye-gouging sequence is in the Final Cut, which is excellent. I never understood why it was removed for the Director's Cut.

It just looks so nice in blu don't you think?

Actually, I think it looks better in red. As does Blade Runner. The Harry Potter movies look better in Blue.

Warmer colors on cover = red
Cooler colors on cover = blue

Also, just for fun, I put my Kingdom of Heaven Blu-ray cover in a HD DVD case! GAH!!! Looks horrendous!

So LOST season 3 is out finally. Where are the first 2 season? I refuse to buy them on DVD when the show is aired in high def.

Is it muliregion?

Blu-ray movies go for 25-29€ (around 36-42$) at brick and mortar shops where I live (North of Spain), and I simply refuse to pay that much. Yesterday was the day I was finally going to buy my first Blu-ray movie and when I saw the prices, I decided that from now on I'll only import them.

http://bluray.lindsite.dk/ does not list it (yet).

Transfer is superb apparently. The IME sounds great and it's web enabled. And it has a TrueHD track.

Better yet, I haven't seen the movie yet.

Double drool.

Fuck I wish I had some free cash so I could pick up the HDDVD 360 add-on. I'll just deal with blu-ray for now.
