The whole thing doesn't make any sense from any angle. So Jivadi's immediate boss gets killed by an American, right after he gets back from America (where he left his handlers for a chunk of time), and no one is going to immediately suspect Jivadi having anything to do with it? Especially after he single handedly brings Brody into the country, no questions asked?

But I am still enjoying this, besides Ridiculous Carrie. Brody kids is better than Carrie at this point.

I wanna talk about the promo for next week's episode,
really Carrie is actually IN Iran? WTF? So, they can't get fucking Brody into the country with a Spec Ops team but Carrie can just waltz her way in and blend right into the country as a fucking white ass girl and nobody questions her presence? I'm sorry wearing a headscarf does not somehow make you invisible, this isn't Assassin's Creed Carrie you're white. You know, there was a reason why that entire Spec Ops team were Arab Americans. This show...

So much this. Next week is going to be the worst.

I'm expecting an
Assassins Creed
montage with Carrie

That's what I thought early on, but with how they're treating Carrie and the storyline, and the doctor saying she was 15 weeks along... it's Brody's. This show makes some wacky choices, but they're not going to have the baby be from an encounter with a non-character from between seasons.

How can it be Brody's? He was back in the US for over two weeks and we know that due to the 16 day training montage. So we can assume 3 weeks due to the heroin clearing out of his system. That makes it 12 weeks or a little less than 3 months from the bombing until when they brought Brody back into the country. Are we supposed to assume that everything that happened with Carrie in the mental hospital and with the CIA has taken place in under 3 months? And that's assuming Carrie had sex with Brody and got pregnant the day the bombing happened.

As a starting point, the last time they had sex was at the cabin the day before the memorial for the vice president. Using way too much information gathered from thinking about the events and checking Wikipedia episode entries, I've got:

1 day to the attack
58 days between the attack and Carrie giving testimony
7 days tops for Carrie in the hospital (she is initially only committed for 24 hours, then 1-3 days more plus some padding) and meeting with the lawyer as soon as she's out
1 day for adventures in finding Dana and Carrie being kidnapped
2 days for meeting Javadi, his murder spree, Saul's interrogation and delivering Javadi to the plane

72 days minimum, aka 10 weeks

At this point, the next thing we see is Saul briefing the White House and Carrie being told she's 13 weeks pregnant. Then when Brody arrives at the Iran border, Quinn says she's about 15 weeks pregnant.

That timeline puts her with Brody, with generous room to pad out some of these events where the show is less specific, but they have given a lot of actual numbers, and we have seen a lot of events just roll right into the next ones. They slept together a number of times in S2. Pick a time for conception, the timeline will be workable.

Enjoyed the episode but :( at best beard guy. I was all 'yeah Brody and best beard guy getting the bromance on in Iraq!!' doing undercover stuff *brofist*'. Then that Javadi guy just had to come along and ruin the party (F'ing asshole). Still best beard guy made the mistake of saying he had kids last episode which is always a no no.

I hope we get a flashback.

Also yes, I've started watching Homeland again. I blame Boardwalk for ending.

hot damn. this show keeps delivering. that was an intense episode.

Sad to see Beard guy die, but it gives Brody reason this kill their plant

It's a testament to the strength of the episode that many people were sad when Beard guy died. I don't think I caught his name either. Hehe.

The bearded guy who got shot, was he the guy in the previous episode that was playing chess with Brody? I couldn't tell. If so, that sucks. I liked him, he was a cool dude.

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that Brody escaped unscathed from his car being blown in half and flipped over. Not even a scratch on his forehead or anything. Ridiculous. The guy is the new Wolverine.

This last episode was intense but the moment Javid showed up, I knew what he was going to do. The thing is, it actually is getting a little too unrealistic now. You have Al Qaeda's top triple agent terrorist getting welcomed into Iran, even though Shias are targets of AQ and Iran hates them as a result. And this guy is supposed to kill one dude way up the food chain and then get out of the country. And this is supposed to happen in a way that redeems Brodey but doesn't blow back on the US, exposing all the shenanigans involved in using America's most wanted man to carry out an assassination.

And they dropped a hellfire missile on an Iraqi army patrol because shit just happens you know?

This show has gotten so, so fucked. I'm only watching because how hilariously horrible it is- and the sad thing is it's still taking itself seriously. This "plan" is so, so ridiculous, from so many angles.

Oh, and I hated Carrie in this episode, emotionally manipulating the Iranian employee and pressuring her to put herself and her family in danger, cause all she gives a shit about is Brodie, and is willing to sacrifice anyone else's life for him. We all see where this is going. Her uncle, and probably entire family is going to get fucked. She should tell Carrie to fuck herself, but she wont- she'll accept of course, then face the predictable consequences.

Gotta be said Danes can give Jim Carrey a run for the money in the gurning stakes. The difference being he does it for laughs, where as she's just comedy. I certainly don't begrudge her the Emmy wins (fully deserved for some great performances), but she could certainly do with toning the face gymnastics.

I don't get all the Carrie hate. She's a great character and yes, she looks distraught, because she's goddamn bipolar and her emotional stability is fragile. Jesus, you guys are assholes. It's like she gets no credit for making everything possible in the first place...

She's completely histrionic at all times. It's annoying and completely unbelievable (i.e., unrealistic), considering that someone would NEVER be able to act the way she acts and still have a job.

This episode did nothing but sprint the plot along, eyes closed and ears covered, shouting "LA LA LA CAN'T HEAR YOU" as realism and plausibility plead in vain for attention from the sidelines.

Another showtime show ruined, right on schedule.

It's because when a show is popular, they get greedy, and decide not to fucking end it as was probably the original plan. They have to keep coming up with unrealistic shit that has more and ore shock factor while keeping all the characters around, so yeah, its inevitable.

The hilarious thing is that Brodie seems to be doing this "for his daughter" when this same daughter didn't even give a shit when he told her he didn't do the bombing. She's then gonna love him for going and doing some covert assassination shit in Iran?

I'm still one episode behind. But I used to love Carrie. But my god...can she have one conversation without getting misty eyed and cry. Jesus

Bearded dudes were the best thing to happen to this show in ages. Episodes like this are the reason I kept up with this show after the shit show of season 2 and Dana. If the writers and show runners did a better job of giving us one of these every 2 episodes or so this show might be able to relive the triumph of season 1.

In a perfect world Quinn would've sniped Carrie in her stupid face a few episodes ago and the rest of the show is just SEAL Team Beard doing CIA missions for Saul.

I would definitely be ok with them killing Carrie. She has gotten too annoying. Probably worse than skyler from breaking bad and Laurie from walking dead. Fucking whiny little mofo. Can't stop crying for her life

There's no way the daughter would believe him at first and even if he was telling the truth, he abandoned his family while they took all the hate for the bombing. I thought the reason for telling him about her suicide attempt was to convince him that it'll give her back some hope again.
