I think they should have killed the PS4 version off anyway and not released it.
Horizon is the graphics showcase on PS5, you want to show strong, not mutliplat. Even if would essentially been the same game it just sends a bad message.
It was tone deaf.
Now a consumer like me who has decided to purchase an XSX has even less reason to buy a PS5 for Horizon FW when I can just play it on PS4.

Maybe but it doesn't really matter, they're already hitting record sales and by the time it starts to slow they'd have full next-gen games on the way. It's not like they're the only ones going this route either.

Your probably not wrong. Games take so long to make now, that by the time a horizon 3 that fully utilizes the ps5 is ready to release, the ps6 will either be out, or just about to come out

That would be in your dreams. Bethesda decided the release date. MS would have wanted the game out this year. But this is bethesda decision. And if they did 2022, I firmly believe the game is done. and is just on quality (Never thought I would say this about bethesda).
If they delayed, it will be the same as halo. They already got hit by it. and by that time, more games would be delayed.

If you're still going to play on PS4 then it doesn't matter to them since Sony gets your money either way.
I do have to ask BTW... why have you decided to purchase an XSX? For Flight Simulator? It couldn't have been for Halo Infinity or Forza Horizon 5, those games have no reason to purchase an XSX for since you can just play them on Xbox One.

Now with nixxes i have high hopes that it would also be a PC showcase. Imagine it running at native 4K with full blown RT capabilities and more than 60fps… a PCMRs wet dream.

difference is gamepass.
Gamepass is getting next gen games, which only series console can run. If he is a gamepass user, that would make sense, unlike ps5.

Flight Sim and Forza Horizon are next gen only and will do well this holiday but they will give XSX a next gen mystique because they are graphics showcase games. Halo is better game to make cross gen because the graphics are meh. Horizon should have been a graphics showcase for PS5 only that's all I'm saying.

...And gotta watch out if we're only buying consoles by a tally of reasons, because in 2022, Xbox Cloud Gaming will be bringing a number if not all Xbox Series X games to Xbox One via streaming, so now does that erase every reason to buy XSX?

Also, as amazing as Flight Simulator is, it isn't only on Xbox Series because it's so next-gen that it would be impossible on Xbox One; they were always going to do it (bless their little hearts at Asobo that they turned to streaming and never had to figure out how.) The cloud helps, and who knows what would have been left of it if they actually had committed to downsizing it, but it's been in the plans since almost the beginning, and Jorg Newmann of MS even commented in January about considering the One's possibilities in the FS roadmap.

Ps5 certainly has next gen games. But they arent big games. The only ps5 game that is big is Miles. and that one is cross gen. If horizon was next gen game, then Yes, ps5 would have had the biggest next gen games.
Sadly, majority of people are fan of these next gen games. Returnal did 500k+, while Ratchet did 1m. Both were sold for 10m console. 1/20 - 1/10 ps5 users bought them. Not to mention, ratchet went to the shadow realm, as no one is talking about. Like hello. game come out last month.
People just want big playstation hitters. For me, Horizon is my n1 playstation exclusive.

And Bloodborne 2 (If developed by From and not Blue Point) would obviously be an improvement.
I think most gamers agree that Bloodborne 2 was far more wanted than a Bluepoint remake of Demons.
Horizon is definitely the graphics showcase series though.
