Wait i dont get it. I have to download 15 gb worth of files that are required to install the game? Isnt everything stored on the disc already?!

I think people are confusing here! you need initial 16 Gb data to copy from disc not download!!
please correct me if i am Wrong!!

Nice OP, you sexy beast. The time has come to finally play this baby. I can't freaking wait and it'll be a nice break from Nioh for me personally. Let's fucking do this.

So glad everyone gets to play this gem of a game. I'm over 50 hours in and still have 25% left to completion. Despite having seen all the bots already I am still not bored of fighting them.Plus the story is damn good with quality side quests that are witcher like, except this game has good combat.

The opening area while impressive at first is nothing compared to what comes after, so I wouldn't advise you to spend like 10 hours there.

Nothing specific, it's just the overall feeling I felt was overtly positive, while not picking up on any potential negatives

the most prominent negatives or consensus (if you will) of the game are dumb human AI and bad audio/lipsync with minor characters, but compared to everything else that does it right or even better than the rest is such a minor thing to worry about

One more night and finally! I rushed the hell out of KH 2.8 last week so I could dive in as soon as I get my hands on this tomorrow. Still have Yakuza 0 shrink wrapped, too!

DAMNIT! My copy from Webhallen, which was supposedly sent on Thursday, didn't arrive today. Was so hyped to leave work and be able to play for a bit :(

Any confirmation of supersampling for 1080p displays?

I know it was said to have it back when the Pro was annoinced but none of the Digital Foundry coverage notes it, which is weird.

It DOES have auto-aim? I was under the impression it didn't have it.

Horizon does not have traditional auto-aim, at all.

This is a common misconception, probably from early copies that haven't had too long to play but have noticed something which feels like auto-aim.

In truth,
there is a stat called Handling, much like Damage, Freeze, Corruption, etc. The Handling stat increases reload speed and increases the chance of your arrow arcing slightly toward the nearest target.

I like what I read. Really looking forward to spend some quality time with this amazing looking game.

Excuse my ignorance but after inserting the disc on my ps4 what amount of time should i expect to wait before i am able to start playing? This may seem trivial but it is an important question for my schedule that will determine whether i can play day 1 or not :/

I mean if there is a bunch of downloading patches and installing files, that will take a considerable amount of time I might have to skip day 1...
Install from disc is pretty fast so that should be few minutes to 5 max I'd have thought.

Only patch I've seen notice of is a very small day one of around 200MB or so IIRC so unless you have really slow internet that should be pretty fast.

So I'd guess 10 minutes or so (probably less). 15 seems high end unless you have one of those PS4's that's slow to install to HDD and a really, really slow connection. Technically as the game is offline I guess you could play without the patch if you wanted initially.

I have a Pro and pretty decent internet connection so that 15 mins sounds like worse case scenario! Thanks a bhnch i am excited now!!

It's the longest initial install time for a PS4 game I've had, but it wasn't more than 10 min I believe. At least it doesn't do that thing other open world games do, where they install initially then you load the game and before you can do anything it's still installing, like for example GTA V.

My copy from Amazon is in my city, but not delivered until tomorrow. Can't wait to play after work tomorrow! Been a while since I've been this hyped for a game, especially a new IP.

I know it was said to have it back when the Pro was annoinced but none of the Digital Foundry coverage notes it, which is weird.

Two modes for 1080p:
Supersampling 30FPS with very infrequent dips to ~29fps (mqybe more latter in the game)
Native 1080p with rock solid 30FPS.

Supersampling is the way to go.

Supersampling mode by default, native 1080p option comes with day 1 patch.

Your welcome. I hope I'm right as I'm expecting to stick my disc in and be playing pretty quickly thereafter too!

Can only speak for digital but it was like 40GB and I had to download the whole thing before I could fire it up.

I've already raved about the black-magic used to make this game look as good as it does AND run as smoothly as it does...

... But I'm also amazed that it's only 40GB and they didn't max out the disc space like some other games have, and no gargantuan day-one patch either.

That is some god-tier optimization they have over there at Guerrilla Games.

Boom! Bitch-slapped!
I have not been so hyped for a game in I can't remember how long. I have kept myself in the dark for the most part, only watched one or 2 trailers. I haven't even read the OP yet. I'm pretty excited for this game, haven't pre ordered a disc game since Resistance 3!

I've seen this a lot, and I don't know what the issue is, mine just preloaded automatically, with no intervention from me.

Mine's not.

I had to do it manually, go to Library -> Purchased Games -> Dorizon Hero Zown -> Download.

It's not there for me.

try it from the Download page in the PC store

I did. It just keeps downloading the theme over and over again when I do. There is nothing else to do.

Thanks for all of your impressions on Horizon. I'll take your suggestion on the opening area.

The OP makes me weak...unfortunately I can't justify buying this and Zelda (and a Switch) in the same week to my wife (plus I don't have time to play both anyways) ;_;
