If this is ISIS related, we somehow passed the phase of terrorist attacks organised by ISIS and reached the phase of terrorist attacks inspired by ISIS which is even more dangerous as it necessitates just brainwashing and no resources for organising them and it's much more difficult for the secret services to tackle, it not impossible.

They've lost faith in the current governments we have and unfortunately are turning to the far right. If this keeps happening in France don't be surprised to see President Le pen in the next few years.
That's it. The more you make noise about terrorism/terror events and the more you publicise them, the more they win. You are literally enabling their terror.

What do you think the government could do against crazies trying to sow chaos? The government aren't omnipotent or something, I guess your expectations for government are too much. Turning to far-right hateful lunatics in response to actions by other hateful lunatics isn't going to get much sympathy from me. If anything the government likely has stopped many more and don't publish it.
Well yeah, but most people still don't trust the far right (and for good reason). Lots of my friends in Germany don't agree with the current CDU government but they are not crazy enough to vote for the AfD. You should be worried when the average swing voters are desperate enough to go to far right parties for solutions.

Thousands of people have been dying in the Middle East due to terrorism and that gets almost no news coverage.
I get that you shouldn't sensationalize the story, but keeping your public uninformed will not decrease the occurrence of the attacks.

Are you proposing something or just commenting, cos whilst I agree with you. people ought to be informed about this sort of thing and when people hear that they are being targeted for death they do tend to panic/ over react / talk a lot of unrealistic nonsense.
i think i agree with you that we wont see "mass destruction" but I feel like things are most definitely getting worse

Didn't the far right almost come to power in Austria? In fact they might still when the votes are recounted. As for the rise of the far right, the more this keeps happening and the more the Government looks hopeless it will eventually happen. It will not happen overnight but it will be gradual and will happen.
Someone said what should the government do and I'm afraid I have no answer, but I'm also not a politician elected by the people to guarantee their safety. That's their job and they better come up with something quick because people are afraid.

From a human point of view it does make sense to vote for the group that offers the simplest answers and that's the far-right. Trump saying he will build a wall and deport all Muslims makes sense to people who don't want to accept that there are no easy solutions to this problem. It makes them feel better if they keep it simple, approachable. Maybe they feel powerless and hopeless otherwise. If the far-right were to come to power though their lies would implode almost immediately. Just look at Brexit for instance.
I don't know. I don't know how we could solve this. Maybe propaganda? Tell those ISIS fighters they've been indoctrinated, give them hope, tell them suicide won't bring them to heaven? I also feel like the Muslim community is struggling with this, how the interpretation of Islam can be so wildly different. It makes fighting this so much harder. Because fighting it with weapons and air strikes won't solve anything.

The new votes won't change that much. The election was called off due to a technicality, not because of some counting error.

France seems to be running out of options. If the state of emergency can't prevent this, what can? The answer is nothing, nothing can prevent this. But that is exactly the answer that the human being can not accept because it makes it feel powerless. Some think about the context more and come to the reasonable conclusion that there are no easy solutions and some flock to the far-right. That's just natural.
I don't really know if any other reasonable politician could have done anything different than Hollande to be honest.
Let's just hope they're getting raped by virgin hounds of hell as we speak.

The bigger picture: the right is always the real problem no matter how many are killed by others. Paris could get nuked tomorrow and the reaction would be: this is bad because it helps Le Pen.

Surely it's far more normal to feel worried about how these evens could impact politics and your daily life going forward than it is sad about people you've never met.
Of course it's tragic and you can feel empathy for victims, but I don't think you can blame people for thinking about how these things would impact them personally more.
