Hot Shots Golf 5 confirmed for PS3

There was a Hot Shots Golf Online in Japan. I think it was just HSG3 but with an online mode. Never made it outside of Japan though.

yeah, i played it online - and it was utterly fantastic, but not that popular it would seem.

500 yen a month for the game might have had something to do with it, i'd think.

So wait - this is an actual, new screenshot of a first-party PS3 title, for (I think) the first time since TGS? Does this mean there's more on the way?

That's just a regular photo though.

It looks computer generated to me..(?) It has the same kind of "look" to it as the first pic we saw, and that's certainly not a photo.

Yes, the white gradient at the top of the photo is definitely computer generated. Beyond that, its a photo :p

Well if that's a photo, they've done some funky things to it. Quite stylised for a photo, IMO! I'm unconvinced..

(certainly not saying it's a game shot or anything of the like, though either)

Got the image from Beyond3D's Hot Shot Golf 5 thread...not to sure where the Thread starter got the pic. He hosted it on ImageShack....

Looks to be a photo but its kinda in between. The aspect ratio kinda throws me off and it looks kinda off from a real picture for some reason.

And the other picture was already posted in 4:3 format before, so I dunno if that is real either.
The other picture was used as a background for the website, so the fact that its in 4:3 ratio is indicative of nothing more than what was best fit - it wasn't a screenshot per se. It is however clearly computer rendered. Whether that's straight from the PS3 game's rendering engine is TBD, but it doesn't seem farfetched.

As for the 2nd pic, gofreak, it's obvious to me for a variety of reasons that it's a photo but if I had to put my finger on one, I'd point out how irregular the details are. Each of the same kind of tree different, clumps of grass different, etc.

Yeah, just saw that on their page. Would be great if from the game (and of course that one is computer generated)

True, the randomness of everything makes it look quite natural, but I'm not sure if it's a certain giveaway. I don't know, I just think it looks odd. Maybe it's just because they've messed with the colour, I don't know.

I'll have to agree, something about it doesn't look real (base of the trees, for example). It's quite hard to tell from small size though.

Either way, I expect HSG5 to look pretty good (in a stylized way), considering its a golf game and outside of the golfer there isn't much to spend the poly/texture/etc budget on. The devs should have a lot of room to play.

I see a man walking his dog? I also see his car at the side of the road, I believe he's parked up and let Ole Shep out, so he can have a runabout in the grassy area.

I'm not impressed. This image must be from PS2, right?

Obviously *that* specific image is not. Although it could well have been composited from PS2 assets and the like. One wonders how much better a game of that style can look, though (well, assuming they don't go for something more like the second picture :lol )
