Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee's shameless charm knows no bounds. The line between cute and cheesy is a fine one, but the game sweetly balances this divide with a fine-tuned game engine the delivers a genuine golfing experience. As a result, this is one of the most addictive PSP game to date. It may have taken a while to get here, but this was definitely worth waiting for. Open Tee is easy to fall in love with. Sometimes you'll shout for joy, other times you'll curse in frustration. But it's all Hot Shots golfing, and this is one of the most spectacular golfing games out there. The "athletes" are still wide-eyed munchkins, the tone is still whimsical, and perhaps most importantly, the controls still comfortably simple for everybody to golf.

8.0 Presentation
The quirky Japanese sense of humor is retained and thankfully so. All the little cutscenes do a good job punctuating the events of the games and maintaining the lighthearted tone of the entire game.
8.0 Graphics
The world of each hole is small, but the actual golfing landscapes manage to play huge and challenging. The characters are animated fairly well, just as we'd expect from any Hot Shots title.
8.0 Sound
The voice acting is clean and effective, managing to steer clear of corniess. The sound effects and occasional music kept me in a good mood, even if when I was losing.
8.5 Gameplay
The controls make the fun accessible. Even when the courses got tough, the tools at my disposal made feel like I am in control of the situation.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
Mulitplayer mode alone will have people playing this game on PSP for years to come. The Putting mode is also a clever diversion.
8.8 OVERALL

I think I would have passed on getting Jade Empire in favor of this if I had thought about it longer. Oh well.. HSG is a definite purchase soon enough.

This game is the best reason to own a PSP. If you don't buy it, you're an idiot.
