The first days of the Nintendo Switch 2 have been a sales success with strong numbers.

How does GAF feel about this?

I voted the second option.

I bought two of them (I got one for myself, and happened to see them in Target and got another for my girlfriend because she can't afford it). We are both sort of disappointed in it but it's still really nice. I think we've decided to just return one of them and share the other since neither of us will use it as a primary device.

Nintendo very rarely doesn't deliver (fuck ya'll the Wii U was great), and the Switch was awesome despite all the downsides. The Switch 2 is an upgrade in every way outside of LCD vs OLED and it will 100% be worth it after some time even if it's iffy right now.

The hardware has been absolutely fantastic & the price is reasonable. The software at launch as been mediocre but come on, who doubts Nintendo is going to release a bunch of first party bangers?

Great start and it's only going to get better.

I got one. I don't really have emotional investment in the console. I hope it succeeds so we get more great games. I just enjoy playing MK with my kids. And Nintendo platformers are the best in the business.

I think it is overpriced, even though I can afford it easily.

I think they had a pretty solid launch there was enough content from multiple genres to keep people interested from street fighter for fighting games to Mario kart for racing games to strong backwards compatibility for everything else to fill in the gaps on top of ports.

For the most hardcore this isn't enough, This is a strong launch for casual gamers that may not own all the systems for any of us who own multiple systems clearly we're going to find ourselves buying 1 or 2 games lol

But if somebody only owned a switch 1 the previous generation there's a great deal that they're going to play on Switch 2.

For the rest of us this is a solid launch to hold anyone over until the next big release.

After I complete bravely default remaster I don't really see me using the system until the next animal crossing or major Kirby game

The hardware is better than expected from Nintendo. The lineup has nothing for me yet, but I know it will. I got mine, but it's not getting much use until some more games release.

Honestly I don't know why I should feel anything about it. I love Nintendo, solid console, and I'm sure there will be lots of great games on it. That's about it

I play Mario Kart with the wife at least once a week, so we're very happy that it is a launch game, I'm pretty excited for DK and MP4, this is going to be a good year.

As someone who's invested a lot in Switch and its ecosystem it's great to see Switch 2 doing well. I haven't purchased one yet, I'm waiting for a couple of hardware improvements and some more first party software before I pull the trigger, but the console itself looks great initially and seems to be a very good iteration of the first one. It can only get better from here.

I'm happy to hear that because I want this supported like Switch was. I hope developers find it worthwhile to update their Switch ports for the Switch 2. Keep those games relevant.

Feeling good! Nintendo is good, Playstation is good and Xbox is finding a way to succed as a publisher. Everyone doing good and that's great for gaming in general. Some people hate this gen, but despite layoffs and big development time for big AAA titles, for me is one of the best times ever in gaming. Lots of great games coming back to back.

It's annoying a lot of bitter twats so I'm delighted with the launch. Hopefully it'll do 10m by the end of the year to tip them over the edge.

Happy that console gaming is healthy. Good for the industry overall.

Cant imagine being mad at this unless you're a basement dwelling mouth breather who makes brand loyalty his entire personality.

Remember Nintendo said things that are just purely loved don't sell. You gotta have a hate brigade to really ramp up the sales. That is what this is.

Switch 2 hater Streisand effect played a huge role. You popularized it with your hate.

I really didn't but I was there to witness the haters that did. They played their role perfectly. Bwahahaha. Bwahahahahahahahahahaha.

ive never been more disinterested in a console launch than this one... got a switch oled and its my main 5-minute on the couch shmup machine but other than that it has no use in this house.
Dont ever see my buy a switch 2 at the moment (also: im nearing my 50's, im an old ancient fart who could not care less for mario kart - a game enjoyed best with friends, and all my friends are dead. )

im not the demographic anymore and F nintendo with these price hikes, told everyone when they got to 90 euros physical other certain companies would follow and voila we are already seeing this.

The Switch 2 is pretty awesome. I like it, the kids love it, the wife is okay with us loving and liking it.... total success!

It was always going to be great out of the gate. Nintendo just needs to get the mom/dads who bought multiple of them for their kids to upgrade them. I know I dont need it, at least for now, and wont upgrade to it. I can see it doing 100m units easy, but the legs which the NS1 had will need to be seen.

I wanted to get into Nintendo with switch 1. But the graphics were disgusting. I threw up a little when I played breath of the wild on switch 1. I sold that shit right away. Now I am having a blast on switch 2.
The - button position in the joy cons sucks!!
