i’d be willing to spend hundreds, but I have super wide feet and designers never make wide shoes

I have wide feet too. My feet are only size 10.5 which isn't even that big. But only time I get comfort is if the show is wide fit. Looking at my feet they dont even look big and wide like I"m an athlete or Andre the Giant. But half the time I try on shoes they are abnormally tight as hell. I cant wear office shoes that have pointed ends.

Used to buy lot of AM1 or Jordan pairs but they tend to disintegrate if not worn for a while. for dress shoes, 100-200. I buy two black and two brown in each style so I always have a back up. So $800 max I guess? Then I change styles ever 12-18 months (depending on wear and other factors). Haven’t switched them out in 30 months though as I’m working at home. 75 on sandals. A fuck load on boots for riding. 75-100 for sneakers but they last forever.

Im not a shoe snob at all. I just buy what I like. Some times they are dirt cheap, other times not so much. One of the best shoes I ever bought were in a bargain bin.

I just bought some new shoes, well boots, because the sole started to come off on my five year old Air Maxs and only bought them because they were 50% off. If my kids need new shoes I'll get them what they want and I enjoy looking for them with them. I really do like shoes, I just don't like paying for them.

My nephew is into shoes, he has stacks and stacks of them in his room. He buys, sells, and trades them. In 12/2017 I was able to get him the Air Jordan XI Win Like '96 for Christmas, he had tears when he opened them. One of my favorite Christmas memories.

A lot of the brands I used to like have gone to shit (looking at you Clarks).

For casual stuff, I'm not fussy as long as it fits, is comfy and doesn't look bad (although I can skip the last one if they are really nice otherwise). I'm not prepared to pay that much though, unless they really will last many years (resoling allowed).

For dress shoes, I like a rounded toe. Other than that, as long as they are good quality, I don't care.

It's only really 'specialist' shoes that I get a bit snobby about, especially walking/hiking boots. But then again, I have been let down by companies I used to trust. I think the only 'specialist' shoe company that has never let me down is Walsh, and that's because they have never changed their main products design from its inception.

Only thing I've ordered from China is a Pandora game box. Meh. Many of the games are some weird clone version and it came with the joystick not working. Had to open it up. The part came unglued. Glued it back on and it's perfect. I can live with some clone games. Only cost me $170 CDN all in. Got it surprisingly fast too.

I literally enter any shoe shop and ask where are the big leftovers that nobody wants because in sicily people are short and with small feets so they barely keep any 50 size shoe, and buying on the internet is an hassle since some brands are bigger and some are smaller so it may be 51 or 49 or something else and i have no patience with these things.
