If THR is correct, Hulk Hogan's lawyers seemed to have made a pretty poor choice in pulling out of federal court to try and get Florida sympathy.
I've seen Hulk driving on the bridges here that connect St. Petersburg and Tampa countless times. It's pretty great. But...

I suspect the goal now is not to win the case but bankrupt Gawker. Even if Hogan loses on appeals (and there are lots of reasons he would), a victory in Florida would force Gawker to take out a bond for the full amount of the damages owed.

Even if he did, Gawker is a separate issue because lets face it, no one would have seen it if it weren't for Gawker.
It would have been lost to the obscurity of torrent sites and such.

The rest of the gawker sites can disappear and it wouldn't bother me but deadspin going away would make me need to find another site to waste an hour per day reading while I'm at work.
