Hyper Light Drifter |OT| We On A HyperLight Beam

I originally chose the Wii U version but knowing that it might never show up I switched to PC version. Really eager to play it and consume it with almost all my senses

Best art I've seen in a loong time. Getting a few Another World and Flashback vibes. I hope combat/exploration are on par.

When are the console ports expected?

I wonder if the Wii U port ended up getting shifted to NX, considering that's likely to release this year. Would be a neat indie launch title.

Oh, are there problems with the Wii U version? I hadn't heard that.

Yep. It may not be coming to Wii U.

(Maybe it'll come to NX as an alternative as you suggest, Terrell, if sales and/or interest merit it.)

Hopefully the PS4 version is no more than a month away. It would be nice to get some news on this.

How much in common does this game have with Titan Souls?

Beautiful OT and perfect title.

Still considering waiting for the console release since my backlog is so huge as it is, but its great to know the game is finally almost here.

Really lovely looking, and the demo was really fun. Now I'm just hoping the storytelling is just as good, and my month would be made.

The art style looks similar-ish. That's probably the only thing in this game has in common with Titan Souls.

Yes amazing OT! The beta was fun and kinda on the hard side of things which was fine by me. Excited to finally the whole thing!

First, fantastic title. Second, I can't decide between pushing off buying this for my PS4/Vita and getting it for my Mac on release ;_;. It feels like I've been waiting for this to release forever.

Was going to wait for PSVita version so I could play portably, but fuck it, I'm in for the PC version day 1. Can't wait! I just hope it doesn't disappoint in the same way Slain did for people.

Really looking forward to reading impressions. Might have to pick it up on PC if they are good. I was going to wait for PS4 but it looks gorgeous :O

my poor backlog...I can't keep up! Watching this thread for impressions... I'm either hopping onto Gungeon or this in the foreseeable future.

Sure. I hope it finds success. The game is almost two years late, not unusual for Kickstarter-games probably, but I just tend to forget about them by then even if I am a backer. Hope for some glowing reviews and good words so that I get my initial interest for the title back.
Saying it's two years late is kind of reductive, no? The second this game blew through all its stretch goals, it was never releasing in 2014. Was never going to happen. That's just the reality of having that original concept be massively expanded with a ton more content and consoles, way beyond anything the developers ever imagined. Three year's development is a normal duration for a game like this

So excited! Getting this as soon as it comes out! It looks so atmospheric and interesting. The game gives off a feeling of loneliness to me, I love it. I expect this to be one of those games full of interesting twists and huge reveals about the pas in the in-game world. I also love the neon coloring. Its so pretty.

I can't believe we're here. I pre-ordered last week :)

Last week? Try being a backer sincer the first day.

Been really excited about this game for years, since the KS was first posted about on here. Also the first game I ever backed. Really love Disasterpeace and Baths (who was really downplayed after the initial pitch, so I'm not expecting more than a song or two) and the art style has always looked lovely but only improved via the many backer updates Heart Machine sent out.

And of course I have to leave town this weekend so uh, hope everyone has a blast with this. The gameplay is oddly the biggest question mark, but I also have high hopes there too.

All Disasterpeace fans should check out this fan-made 44 minute mix of HLD music from the Preview Build:

I <3 this guy's work

Rad, thanks!

I really.. really hope it's good. Probably my most looked forward to kickstarter. With the amount it made and the extra time they took there's no excuse for it to be bad. Unless the dev's just don't know how to make a good game. I can't think of any other reason.

please be good please be good please be good.

and send out the keys already ffs yo

Played the alpha. It was wonderful. If the quality is maintained, then we have a gem on our hands. It's got all the right things going for it: great gameplay, amazing visuals, the best indie composer out there (disasterpeace). #believe

Is it weird to buy a game just because the OT title is amazing??

was Slain that bad?

I didn't end up buying it, but the impressions on GAF and Steam, along with the 37 metascore raised huge red flags. Apparently the combat is button mashy, level design is terrible and the game feels unfinished
There isn't even a final boss
.

Shame, because the trailer made it look great >.<
