Hyper Light Drifter |OT| We On A HyperLight Beam

don't have time to research until i get back home but has there been any word on the co op? I didn't see it in the menu

Was there supposed to be co-op? It's not mentioned on the Kickstarter page at all.

edit: Oh wait, there it is. Local co-op for the challenge mode. No idea if it's in.

RPS impressions have my hyped.

I love a good challenge and hearing how good the combat is... WANT. But I'll have to wait, because I backed the PS4 version.

Have played about an hour and first impression are good. Feels very retro in a good way like there is no hand holding and the combat feels natural and is fun. World looks cool and the soundtrack is very atmospheric.

After the hugely positive first impressions...
Ugh, I'm so tempted to get this. Um-ing and ah-ing because my employment just poofed out of existence.

I'd love for it to be 60FPS, but if Bloodborne can do amazing combat at 30(ish) then I'll give this a fair shake too. When I eventually get around to convincing myself that £13.49 isn't going to make my financials implode.

Only played about 30mins so far, but the fears I had from playing the preview build are all but forgotten. The movement and combat feel great.

games pretty cool so far

my mouse keeps escaping the window
and the camera movement feels sluggish at best

but its fun

and gorgeous, also great music

Is the gun supposed to be that useful in combat? Can't aim it for shit but I can shoot stuff straight ahead which isn't bad

Yes. It is crucial. You don't always want to dive into a giant group of enemies. Being able to pick off a couple before going in is the only way to survive.

And then there are boss fights.

The length sounds good to me! Between this and Momodora I will welcome short awesome games.

Heh, the RPS impressions is giving me feelings so complicated (scared and excited at the same time). Hopefully Heart Machine does not patch it out - I wanna give it a try!

So like.. controllers don't work on the PC version? I've tried everything.

They do and the game actually recommends you to use a controller. Does it only happen to this game? Have you tried connecting the controller through a different USB port?

The game is really good so far,

Gameplay is really satisfying´

Also they found the right balance with the difficulty

Music and graphics are simply amazing

I've done everything. Even my keyboard doesn't work, works in menus fine but absolutely nothing in-game.

This game is *sogood*

I am still early on, just did
one of the first switches to unlock the first boss.

When I got swarmed by enemies, it was all ohshi-

8 hours, 5 minutes.

Missing two weapons, all the weapon upgrades, and almost all of the keys.

Can't help but wish it was more like 16-20 hours, considering how good it is. Salt & Sanctuary has really raised the bar of what I want from a 2d action adventure.

Gonna play both steam and ps4. Can't wait. Need it now.

Wait, you're missing all the weapon upgrades and keys? Or you got them all?

I like the level design, I like the combats, I like the atmosphere

Already worth my 18€

Also we can start from anywhere we want right ? I went west first

Played about a half hour before work. This game is dope. The visual design is incredibly striking and works so well with the music, which is amazing. The combat feels slick, can't wait to dig deeper with upgrades.

Any way to tweak some graphical settings? Playing on a monsterous rig and it doesn't feel smooth at all. It feels kinda chuggy, especially when just walking around.

Played for about an hour this morning before I had to stop but I'm getting a feeling this is going to be a classic. Everything about it is super high quality. Also, that intro cutscene was gorgeous. It's really old school and modern at the same time. The younger me that was amazed by Flashback and its intro on the SNES would be DYING playing this game.

MAN I did NOT know this game came out! I'm at work right now and can't wait to go back home and buy the shit out of it. You guys having fun playing it?

RPS impressions sound good. Hopefully I don't get stuck on the first boss as well.

I was going to wait for PS4 but I am weak to pretty pixels.

Ok guys, if I redeem a steam code that I have received, by mistake, will I still be getting my console version ? (I'm a backer).

Yeah, I think I'm in the same boat as you, since I responded to backerkit with PS4 as my choice, but I also got (accidental?) emails from humble bundle asking me to redeem my steam key (2 of them, it appears).I didn't redeem yet since I'm at work, but should I not redeem them? I don't want to take an extra copy of this game I'm not entitled to, but if the keys are generated, are they going to waste if I don't use them? I'm so tempted to redeem them and play on my Mac tonight.

Just finished my first boss, a kind of
bird priest
dude? Kept bringing
crows
into the fight and chasing me around with
exploding purple floor squares
.

I can already see this game is gonna be taxing for me. Huge emphasis on timing, identifying behavior patterns and lightning-fast reflexes. Satisfying to complete a boss, but I have big concerns about my ability to finish this.

Oh, for real? I went north, having no idea whether I was going the right way or not. Wandered around a bunch of dungeons busting my ass for
purple triangles
, not knowing if I was doing optional challenges or part of the main quest.

Does this game run on a laptop, which is around 3 years old?
Portal 2 runs without problem's with 1366*768 and all effects.
I'm really tempted to not wait anymore, thanks to you guys ;-)

Feels good to have hype meet expectations(I speak for myself of course)
Find the aesthetic is just gorgeous too look at, combat is challenging without being unfair and the audio mix is impressive so far.

I went north because... well... I felt that was where I should go lol
Pretty pixels for sure.

As I'm currently sans-PC, is this likely to work on a Surface Pro 2?
I don't think I can wait for the PS4 version.

Edit: Played for a bit, did the opening area and went and did some real fights. According to steams fps counter, didn't seem to leave 30 that I saw. Bosses might be a different story but regular gameplay seems good.

Edit2: Forgot this part: there seems to be no graphical or resolution options whatsoever, so if your laptop/computer can't run this as-is you're SOL I'm afraid.
