Speaking of Fire Emblem, I've never played them before, I hear they're good, but don't know. Should I take a stab at older titles?

Also, only Dragon Quest V, what about it is specific to the tastes I've discovered?

The older Fire Emblem games don't have relationships between fighters that you put next to each other, not that I'm aware anyway. I also haven't played any of them so I can't help you on that.

DQV has a story that includes multiple generations of a single family, and each generation you can choose who to marry. It's supposed to be rather simplistic, but that one's still in my backlog so I've only looked at user reviews.

"Tsundere (ツンデレ ?, pronounced [tsɯndeɽe]) is a Japanese character development process that describes a person who is initially cold and even hostile towards another person, before gradually showing their warm side over time."

Antitrop, if you post that definition toonamigaf is going to invade this thread for me ;_;

A-anyways, yeah, they went tsundere there :P

Dude. I just got a Crunchyroll premium sub last week.

I have no idea what any of this anime shit means, I watched Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z in middle school, because that was all that was on in the 90s. Wikipedia is good enough for me

Girls have waifus too? Wtf. Why do I have this impression that the whole moe waifu thing is a guy thing?

Girls most certainly do have husbandus.

When I read threads like this, including the replies, it makes me realize that I have a lot to learn about Japanese culture. I really don't know a lot about it. All I know is about honor and shame being huge parts of it.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys. Just to note, I don't need to have a relationship in my games, you can recommend JRPG's with badass stories that are good, like Persona 3.

Thanks for the links and everything and thank you for reading my thread, really neat that my thread hit it off.

Also, not a tsundere.

You guys are dicks, there's no need to make fun of the guy/girl, s/he is very emotional right now so stop giving him/her a hard time.

Who the hell is HolyBikai anyway? I'm assuming that he was a guy into waifus & the OP made fun of him at some point?

Well that is certainly some interesting stuff Op. I could never tell if Holy was joking or not, and if they weren't then they were seriously naive about life or at least pretending to be. Not exactly the type of person to look up to, but if you feel like it's done you some good then what can I say.

Can't say anything about that waifu and moe stuff, since it sincerely disgusts me. Thankfully, that is something you can easily ignore with Persona.

Yes girls can totally get into playing VNs about specifically girls, even if they dont recognize as lesbian. They also have husbandos aswell ofcourse, and dont even get into the yaoi culture, they have that market on lockdown.

It's OK. Someone will release an official sub of the OP. The fansub is not very good, as your confusion clearly illustrates.

Just a sad thread not gonna lie. What did holybaikai do to get perma?

Argument with EviLore over woman being as or more athletically capable than men, was a UFC Thread.

I'm a guy, thanks though.

I'm just coming around to learning all the Japanese suffixes for names, even. Tsundere and Yandere are still foreign to me.

Don't worry, it doesn't take long before you start to understand all the lingo.

Holy has been on thin ice ever since "post pubescent curves." If anything I'm surprised that he lasted as long as he did.

I don't have a Nintendo Wii and isn't the game expensive too? Apart of some project to localize to the states right? How good is it though, it's another title that gets a lot of hype from GAF.

Maybe I should listen to GAF hype more often.

Holy Baikal
You've been down too long in the waifu scene
Oh what's becoming of me

Ride the pillow
You can see the spots but you know she's clean
Oh don't you see what I mean

Gotta get away
Holy Baikal

--Dio "Holy Baikal"

So you were in the waifu closet and then you came out and now you feel set free? Okay.

We have all types here so no worries. You will be minimally judged.
(Body pillows though?)

I don't even like modern JRPGs and I know that Xenoblade is worth playing

If anyone didn't want to read the OP I decided to do a DRAMATIC READING of both parts of it.

For what it's worth I understand OP's attachment to playing Persona even if I haven't. Playing any jrpg title tends to take a good investment of time and it's understandable to grow attached to the characters just as it is to become attached to characters in a long running tv show or book series.

You can get a version for alot less, the N3DS version, and then you can play the spiritual sequel, xenoblade X when it comes out in america or europe wherever your from.
Son of a... (at least you arent in that crowd of calling me one XD

Oh. Yeah, nevermind then. Go back to JoJo.

I do acknowledge you as a shota tho.

Oh my god yes.

HolyShit, it's 30 minutes. I can't wait.

I just read this whole thread for some reason.

I need to go reevaluate my life. I'm worried I'm too close to the moe life for my own comfort.

Check out You Lie In April and Durarara. Great shows that couldn't be any more different.
