I’ve Never…

Loves his juicy stink trail scent
Inspired by rofif rofif admitting he's never played MGS3 or 1… I figured it would be fun to admit some heinous acts you know are cardinal gaming sins.

I'll start with:
-Never completed half life 1 or 2
-Never played more than a hour of any 2D Metroid
-Never played the original Deus Ex or System Shock

Confessions complete for now.

- I've never finished any GTA.
- I never liked Nintendo from the start.
- I never liked Sports games outside of EA Big.
- I've never gooned to gaming pixels like most of GAF (don't deny it mofos).
- I've never hated Sony more for killing Psygnosis and Evolution Studios.

I've never:
- Beaten Ikaruga, even if it's a favorite of mine.
- Played Heroes of Might and Magic 3 without being either drunk or high as fuck.
- Really liked Skyrim, even if I have around 300 hours clocked in.
- Played The Plutonia Experiment, even when DOOM is among my top 5 favorite games.
- Fucked a fellow gamer's ass. And hopefully never will, but you never know, the ways of the Lord and all that.

I've never... understood why people keep buying Madden and other sports games, year after year.
You can't understand? Really? People who really like the sport and minor upgrades play. It isn't some major mental hurdle.

The same could be asked of a non gamer on why do you play hentai shop simulator or Mario as an adult.

I've never finished Dark Souls 1, despite loving every other fromsoft title. The blightown framerate killed it for me back in the day, and now it feels so much worse to play than the more modern titles i find it too hard to go back to.

I will never understand what's fun about games like Diablo….it looks so unfun to me, from combat to loot system.
Have you tried any of them though?

The fun is generally:
-Getting really rare items that make your character able to do things they can't without them or build an entire build around the power of said item
-Building a very unique character with a fun move set based off of abilities you enjoy. Want to spin to win as a barbarian with a two handed axe? Think shooting meteors is sick?
-Challenging end game bosses

This varies much per game what their focus in. Diablo is more of an epic campaign without long term addicting end game or challenge. But path of exile is a deeply complex game for people who yearn to spend hundreds of hours per new season fighting challenging end game content, and building many many many different kinds of characters to keep the fun near limitless.

Time for me to close the browser tab and pretend this never happened.

Why are you even on Gaf? :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I love you, but stop being a massive gay and go and play those games, for fucks sake man.
I never owned a PC back in the day to play Half Life and i was a Xbox hater when i was a teen so never played Halo ( or GoWr ) XD.

I made my peace that i ll never play these two games.

I just dont find isometric action combat to be fun AT ALL and the loot system looks like fucking nightmare for me and l also heard the game is online only....It basically has everything I hate in one package.

Look. Half life 1 is boring as shit. Just watch a YT video recap of the story.

Halo though? Shiiiiit negro. Pick up the master queef collection for $9.99 right now on steam sale, and fire it up. Especially if you get a homie to do it with you.

Danjin44 Danjin44 my man I know you never will, but if you ever decide to try one of those because someone has you at gunpoint or something, try Path of Exile 2. That one can be played with a gamepad and has actual gameplay beyond clicking on fellas until they die. Gameplay wise, it's kinda like an isometric souls game.

Diablo 2 can be played offline.
Last Epoch as well.

Diablo 2 is tied for my favorite game of all time, but it isn't the game that would win you over in the genre. Path of exile 2 would though. Dodge system, blocking with shields, parries, magic galore. Tough bosses, sick graphics etc.

I think even if you don't engage with its end game at all you'll walk away impressed.

I actually think Diablo 4 is a fantastic game for the campaign and expansion story standalone, because the end game is recycled junk. But the cinematic, story, characters, snappy gameplay, etc would likely hook and impress you. It's free on gamepass.

I've never played through a single Microsoft exclusive game (Halo, Gears of War, Fable, etc.) and I never will. I have also never played through a single Final Fantasy game. And finally, I have never beaten any of the modern Team Ninja games.

No offence but why would I want to play "isometric" Souls game when i can play actual Souls game? I hate isometric more than FPS....I can tolerate some FPS games like Boishock and Resident Evil but not isometric like Diablo or Path of Exile.....not for me.

Halo and Gears are good though. Gears is coming to ps5 in August for the very first one.

Epic game with Michael bay moments and unique weapon arsenal. Great to play co op with a friend.

Modern team ninja is tough. I think rise of the ronin is their best game.

Different kind of experience. Not so much about exploration but more about being a power fantasy but with all the challenge of a souls game. But yeah, if you absolutely hate isometric games then this one's not for you.

I'll keep pestering you until you play Lies of P tho. There's no escape from that.

Lies of P is the only good souls like not made by fromsoft.

I've played them all probably, and they are all booty cheeks except lies of p. It gets it.
Something I really love from that game is that mechanic where you can recover 1 estus charge if you manage to land a few hits when the thing is fully empty. Made bossfights super exhilarating, since instead of throwing in the towel you have a reason to keep pushing and being in the offensive even when you are about to day. Brilliant design.

I'm a fan of a few sports that get annual game releases, and I just don't comprehend how someone could justify paying full price for a game that's nearly identical to the game you bought last year, except updated slightly with some new player / team stats or whatever. I could understand if the roster updates were just DLC or "season pass" / "battle pass" type purchases, which would also keep the pool of online players pretty fluid from year to year.

But then again, I mostly play games for the single player experience, and these sports games nowadays have zero or almost zero single player components.
