Exactly, season 3 did not suck. Maybe I'm biased cause I saw it on DVD straight rather then every week with commercials, but I found it just as good, and didn't have many stupid sideplots. The finale wasn't as "Bauer kick-assery" as it should've been, but it was ok.Hollywood said:I didn't think last year's was bad at all. At the end of every show there has been a big climax - thats what I love about this show.

Great first 2 hours (better than Season 3's non-start).

I've never watched 24 before... it came on before I got my Tivo and though I'd heard about it I never turned it on..... well after seeing the commercials for this season the missus and I had to watch it... she's watched it previously.... last night we were GLUED to the TV... our only beef was all the commercials... but wow am I glad I caught it this season.... thanks to the Tivo whether I'm home or not 24 WILL be watched in our house.
Boogie said:heh, I think I remember one thread (Probably a Jack Bauer vs. John McClane thread), where we kept mentioning everything Jack had done, and you were like "What?! Tell me more!", and we just kept telling you to pick up and watch the DVDs.
And now you understand what we meant![]()
Hehe, they always "lie" in the promos. It's why I had a minor shitfit at the need for spoilers, b/c the previews are always edited to look one way and then they always suprise you with something else. Like Chappelle last season. So expect things to actually turn out different than you expect on a weekly basis, it's the hook this show has.Black Deatha said:What's with all the season 3 hate? It's the reason I now own Season's 1 through 3 on DVD, and have watched season 1 3 times (showing freinds the last 2) and now I'm on my third run through season 2 showing it to freinds, and the same will happen with season 3.
This show went from being a show I have very little intrest in, to the show I made a point to catch the first episode of the 3rd season to see what all the raving was about to the show I never missed ONE episode of during season 3. 4 will be the same way.
Now that's out of the way, DAMN, DAY 4 OWNS!! That was so beautifulandwhen Jack wasted that gaurd, put a bullet through the guys leg
But my god, the promos lied, I could have SWORN that on the clip showing Jack fight Ronnie that Jack took him down (I'm alsmot positive, I'm going to check on the season 3 special features) ANd now that selfish basterd Ronnie went and got him seld killed. I wanted to see Jack fight him again later in the day when he's back in full form and own his wannabe ass, but as is he stole that from Jack!!!
I was speachless after Jack went down, and first thing that came to my mind was how the time between Day 1 and 2 was also about a year, yet Jack was back and better than ever. But I suspose he was partaly fuled by rage/anger.
And lastly on the special Day 4 prequal it indicates that the gap is a year and a ½ I belive.
Edit: It was a year and a ¼, and I was rifght, Jack won the fight in the trailer and got hit gun on Ronnie!!!!

Tonight's ratings will be interesting. They rode the playoff audience last night, which is a massive crowd. So with a kickass premiere like that, hopefully they've roped some new suckers in.CloudNL said:Nice premiere!
14.9 million viewers.
And that with a lot of competition (Desperate Housewifes).
Let's see what the ratings will be for episode 3 and 4 which air today.

Pimpwerx said:The thing that bugged me last season was Chase. Jack didn't need a sidekick. They tried to turn it into a buddy flick for a while there. But I guess the change of pace was good, b/c now I am really digging this season already. I like solo, renegade Jack. It's no coincidence Season 2 is my favorite, so I hope for more of that this season. I like that they're telling the story from the terrorist's POV this time around too. PEACE.
pnjtony said:for the record there's no more commercials than normal. When you download a half hour show it usually comes in at 21:22 and both episodes of 24 came in around 42:47 each. Lost is the exact same.
DarienA said:Thanks I realized today why the commercial breaks felt so long.... I don't watch regular TV anymore, all I watch is TIVO'd stuff and I just fast forward through the commercials.
I could always wait until about 20 min after to start watching the show, but then I wouldn't be able to chat with the folks on this board during the show about what's going on.
I'll suffer through the commercials.![]()

I like the way this one started. Action right out the gate.

Also, between Season 1 and 2, Jack stayed with CTU. Between Season 2 and 3, he was in the field busting Saladbar or whatever his name is. So while he picked up a herione addiction, he didn't exactly get rusty. But this season, he's been out of the field for a year and a half, and Ronnie punked him like a bitch. I bet they're gonna make this a recurring thing throughout the day too. Jack'll probably get handled a few times in the day, but come back guns blazing to exact some sweet revenge. :lol Like someone else said, fucking with Jack is like an instant death wish.
And the reason I "hate" Season 3 (it wasn't that bad, but the worst of the 3 so far IMO) is b/c Season 2 was all about Jack busting ass. His body count was pretty damn high in Season 2. Then they brought him back to earth last season, with the CTU members sharing a lot more screen time. It was interesting, but CTU was always just background filler to help Jack in the field, not really a field ops team. But I suppose the way the attack played out last Season demanded more involvement. I can't totally hate on last season, it just wasn't all about Jack filling dude with lead all day. Jack's got the L33T interrogation skills. :lol PEACE.
Thanks!jenov4 said:Not sure if this has been posted, but they did a little 6 minute clip of what happened to Jack Bauer between season 3 and 4:
