I just booted my Vita after few years and it instantly felt much better & higher quality system than Switch

I own a vita and have about 40 games, I have 12 3DS games
Not to mention 3DS doesnt have 1 decent racing game or sports game outside mario kart

Not to mention a lot of the "best" 3ds games are actually trash like codename steam
Lol Mario Kart is the best selling racing game series of all time, imagine saying it only counts as decent.

Check this 3DS game ranking and see how much games people could instantly put on the must play catalog.

You're delusional AF lol with your anecdotes, you thought you're the only person playing Vita? People couldn't know how trash its library is?

This is a matter of tastes. 3DS catalog is extremely underwhelming to me. DS was a much better system in terms of games.
Of course it wouldn't win the DS, that would be absurd. Vita though...

Doesn't help that the Joy cons are literally the flimsiest pieces of shit ever created. It didn't NEED to feel this shit, but yet somehow N needed to preserve their track record of making garbage controllers.
Such a garbage statement, imagine saying N having trash controllers with the exception of the Switch.

OMG IKR! I mean, look at all the billions of people using N controllers as the default standard go-to controller on PC too! Absolutely NOBODY likes xbox or Sony pads in comparison!

...Oh, wait...

You mean standard controllers or non garbage controllers? Make up your statement first...

Again with the hyperbole. Pathetic new user speaking right here.

Vita has Sonic and all star racing.

Enjoy your wiiu ports man at full price, again on a fucking screen. 😂 (i have a wiiu, my final Nintendo hardware for reasons).

I've got a vita 2000 and a 1000...

I'll never need anything else.

Got access to half a dozen other console's libraries on the 2000, too~ keep my 1000 pure out of respect for the oled.. but I've got a 64gb memory card in the badboy :messenger_fire:

My favourite games? At the moment..

Persona 4 Golden
SteamWorld DIG 2
Dragon's Crown
Borderlands 2 (overclocked)

Is it Jailbroken ? I'm afraid to try that on mine.

The joycons feel like shit, pokemon sword is one of the worst RPGs of the last 10 years, and if you don't like BoTW the switch offers fuckall other than overpriced ports of wiiu games or ancient roms. It's a worse system than 3DS it is an especially poor value prospect in 2021 at $300 for shit hardware and an even shittier library. I thought with Nintendo eliminating the 3ds and focusing on one system their output would improve? It hasn't, they are content with releasing the same fucking shit and drip feeding us SNES roms for their shit online service. At least the virtual boy had some new games. Nobody gets to call the games amazing when nintendo's best limp dick effort for 2020 was a half assed collection of mario ports at $60. The switch lite is the worst feeling handheld i've ever had the misfortune to play. It feels like a fisher price knockoff. Also the drifting issue holy fuck. When you realize that the PS5 dual sense is as expensive as nintendo's shitcons that break if you look at them wrong, it's hard not to wonder what the fuck is Nintendo doing. Then again they can put as little effort into their product because the fanbase will excuse and handwave all criticism anyway. Fuck the switch has less features than the wiiu did, their systems are actually getting worse over time. Why the fuck can't they develop an online system and stick with it? Xbox had this figured out 15 fucking years ago and nintendo can't find its head from its ass. I gifted my cousin a switch because i wanted him to suffer.

Is it ma'am by any chance? :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Answer the question retard, that's make you a pretty good poster instead of dodging.

Talking all the default controllers they've ever put out since N64 for their systems not counting the 'classic' controllers coz those are pretty solid. Out of N64, Gamecube... can't even really say Wii or WiiU... sheesh... Even the controls on their handhelds outside of the Gameboy Advance were garbage. Switch just continues that tradition of trash default controllers.

Define your metrics of garbage. N64 Gamecube Wii WiiU controllers are durable enough and only in rare cases that a controller needs to be replaced in a few years. DS and 3DS buttons are pretty durable and clicky to add.

In terms of battery DS4 is pretty garbage for example.

People often blame the proprietary memory sticks as the reason it failed and that's true but it had other crucial problems as well. The original charger being proprietary, the worst UI of any mass consumer device in the decade, and the failure to actually give the thing proper full controller support like the Switch. So many more games would've been compatible and "remoteplayable" if they solved that last issue in particular which I believe would've saved the device.

One day when the tech is available to make an affordable portable PS4 Sony should go for it. It already has an amazing library, a huge issue solved. Just give it USB-C charging and and micro SD card support and you have a smash hit. The tech should be ready within 3 years if it isn't already.

Garbage as in overall... whassaword... 'how good it feels to use the controller for a decent period of time' on top of the quality of the buttons as well as the responsiveness of the feedback you get on press. The DS4 for example is a controller you can comfortably use for a long period of time and has great feedback on button presses. I agree in terms of battery life DS4 is trash, but with the amt of crap they shoved in there, a lot of it totally worthless in the long run... meh.

I have no idea how you can say the DS was durable, unless you mean the original DS coz the DS Lite, I've gone through 3 with broken shoulder buttons and the face buttons completely run into the ground/flatten after a period of time. The 3DS is just nothing but flat single click garbage, ugh... and the Switch joycons are identical in feel of button press as well as literally being THE most absolute garbage controller N has ever made.

I exempt their classic controllers coz those are really good, too bad they pretty much went unused for the entire lifecycle of the console(s) in question aside from very select use cases/games and in the case of Wii, a lot of that is N's own outright stupidity in NOT ALLOWING classic controller support on certain games.

I agree that the build quality and ergonomics of the Vita are outstanding. I still don't understand how Sony took such a nosedive in build quality after the Vita. The PS4 was cheaply built garbage in comparison.

It's sad that while the Vita was a magnificent piece of hardware, it was let down by Sony's first-party support (which still is Sony's weak link, IMHO).

Nah, I've had 3 DS systems, 2 3DS systems overall with me selling them in between, only one my 3ds of have issues in the past and that's me dropping the system broking one of the shoulder button. It's pretty much subjective what you're saying here when I've clocked around 700++ hours at least last time I checked with my 3ds for example and I never feels like the buttons are not responsive or anything, in fact it's the opposite.

I can't even comfortably use my DS4 having only 4 hours charge max now. It's ridiculous. Sold my PS4 and the dude won't even entertain buying my controller because of how shitty these used controller's battery are, I won't buy it either unless the battery is replaced.

Sony didn't make it possible to use DS4 for PS5 either why is it an issue for Nintendo but not them? These companies are surely banking on their fanbase to buy these peripheral for extra good profits, XSX having the ability to use Xbone controller is pretty much an anomaly here. Also, I can't help but think that this is such a tiny nitpick to have beef with.

Just did. Looks like it's only custom firmware/software? I mistook 'mod' as meaning a physical alteration.

I have hacked 3 Vitas with this guide; each time was pretty smooth. There was a part I skipped but it still worked. Lol good luck. Hacked Vitas are amazing; the ONLY downside is TV-Out is non-existant (compared to the PSP which can connect to TV)

I guess the other factor for me as well is whether or not the Dpad is actually usable for things like say, fighting games. The Dpads on N gamepads in general, classic cons aside, are absolute gutter trash for that purpose say.

Its doubly important for the Switch since it actually has a large variety of 3rd party content, and while a majority use the analog, any games that are reliant on the dpad like fighting games are absolutely unplayable on the joy cons. The fact you NEED to buy a classic con for this AND play the Switch docked, thereby restricting your options with the device... is another definition of garbage.

For the DS4's faults, its a robust controller with great feeling buttons that can be used to play 'any' game. That's at least a plus.

Switch has a bit better library of games, Vita mostly has some gems with some games catered to otaku-weebs (I am one btw)

still, Vita gave us Gravity Rush (best new ip last gen) and the Senran Kagura series (peak of fanservice games)

Also, Sonic All Star Racing: Transformed looks fantastic on vita.
