That book also contains the backstory forWeiss. He was a child soldier fighting the monsters formed the remains of the Queen Monstrosity at the end of Drakengard, because it was determined that children pumped full of drugs would be resistant to the transformation. In the meantime, the government figured out how to create Gestalts and Replicants and Grimoires. They herded up a bunch of child soldiers into a room full of black Grimoire Noir clones and forced them to kill each other; once they scored a kill, their souls were trapped in the books forever.
And Brother Nier in the Japanese versionprior to the start of the game, whored himself out to an older man in Seafront for money for Yonah's medicine. When a Shade hunt was organized, the man was the leader and kept making humiliating innuendo in front of his friends regarding Nier. It's implied that Nier might have killed him in the confusion of the fighting because he was lost in anger, shame, and bloodlust.

I should probably get around to reading that.
.The ending of FFX got to me.
Try missing the button on bolt number 194. I wish I were joking. I didn't play the game again after that.I cried when I had to dodge 200 lightning bolts in FFX.
It contains interviews, a timeline, and a few other short stories, some of which were kinda poorly or un-translated last time I checked. Then there's one that has a rather... risque section at its climax (lol), and the cut Ending E.
The ending of FFX got to me.
Clapping AND sobbing? WTF, lol.
I'm almost shocked to see that other people have played this game.

Thanks for the spoilers.
With the first three Silent Hill games and the whole Resident Evil plot my fav story line on a game despite its shitty gameplay.
Are you familiar with the blog that tried to sort out all of the mysteries in the game? I haven't visited it in a long time and I don't remember the name, but it was a testament to how many different things were going on in the game. Fascinating game.
Edit: I apologize for double post. I would delete and move this to my original post, if I could.
I don't know if you're refering to http://ruleofrose.wikia.com/wiki/Rule_of_Rose_Wiki but this is the website I used to visit when I was trying to get info about the game. :S
HahahahahahaI was wondering when the INTERNET TOUGHGUYS were going to start shitting up this thread. Every fucking time someone starts a thread, these assholes have to pop in and remind everyone how much of a badass they are and how pathetic everyone else is.
Anyways, I read about what happens to Aerith in FF7 from the strategy guide I purchased, but when it happened when I finally played the game it still hit me hard. I didn't exactly cry, but it really struck my heartstrings. The music in FF7 was so great, and really added so much more to the moment.
