I just cried for the first time with a game.

Oh great, thanks so mutch, let's give it a try. I do not play it since its release date (and I still have a sealed copy XD), no idea how it works with PCSX2.

Be forewarned, you could be reading forever.

Wait, you haven't played it or you have? Or did you buy two copies?

Nope. I've had moments where I'll be like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" like with
Agro or Mordin
in SotC and ME3, but actually crying? chill with that.

I got pretty emotional reading Katawa Shoujo and the end of Bastion made me feel feels, but no I have never cried from a video game.

Now the first 10 minutes of Up on the other hand.... ;_;

I think there is a direct relationship between people crying >>>> really good music.
When I think of every amazing moment in games like that, they usually tend to have perfect music, and thats what sticks to me for years after :o

This got me. I've never felt more of a connection to a FF character than I did with Laguna.

Also for some reason the Chrono Cross opening can make me slightly teary eyed. Mostly due to nostalgia and the super awesome/emotional music.

The closest I ever came was in ME3. (Mid-game spoilers ahead):
When Mordin goes up the tower, "Would have like to study sea shells."
I didn't actually cry, but I did feel that feeling that comes before crying.

Man that game could have had such an awesome ending by playing off the players investment in the characters.

Xenosaga III ending made me bawl

I adored the first one, but just couldn't get past the second one. It just felt so stagnant. I should give a short again sometime.

For me:

A couple of times in Lost Oddessy got me good, and every. damn. time. the ending of FFX
when he finally fades away
makes me tear up like mädchen.

Journey.

I had gone through the whole game with e person. And then, after you collapse, and get shot up to the mountain, my partner dissapeared. I thought that maybe I had to wait for them at the end, and stood at the point before the crevass until they came, but they didn't.

Yeah, kind of the same for me. But slightly different.

Went through the whole, entire game, with the same person. Always staying together. By the time we reached the mountain we flew off, and got separated. I was worried. Looked around everywhere, but could not see him.
So I decided to move towards the end. Then I heard it, the song. He was standing at the top of the mountain, and singing over and over, waiting for me this entire time. And we moved into the light together. Singing, side by side. As we had throughout the entire game.

Didn't make me cry, but made me almost get moist in the eyes out of happiness.

Just force yourself through or watch it on youtube, though I think part of the fun is learning the story from the actual game and from npcs, but the game does suck especially after disc 1.

I wouldn't say ep3 is perfect but at least they took all of the material and gave it a proper conclusion

Something that had a surprising emotional impact on me was when you get off the elevator in ME3 (not really a spoiler and you encounter it within the first few hours of the game but if you haven't played the game I still wouldn't read it just so you see it fresh the first time)
And you see the wall of names of everyone who has died across the three games.
This kept hitting me every time I saw it for a long time, I was amazed at how much emotional impact it had on me. I mean, I never cried, but it hit me in the gut almost every time.

Normal fights in Ep. II can drag on, but the dungeon design in the game is great, the story is pretty good (URTV focus though), and the boss fights are some of the best I've had in a JRPG. I think it's worth playing and don't fully understand the level of distaste people have for the game. Overall, I think the cutscene direction in Ep. II was pretty good as well (which is unbearably cheesy for me sometimes in Ep. III).

The first three games are kind of a prologue.

They almost got me at the end of Uncharted 2, almost.
Me too. Also, Journey very nearly got me at the end. My eyes were slightly filling up, and I got that dry mouth, gulping feeling. It was more euphoric than melancholic though. The music, the visuals, the sense of awe, my mouth was a gape for the last half an hour, such a fulfilling experience. It should really be played in one sitting to get the full impact. Just wow.

Joey: All BLANK and no BLANK makes BLANK a BLANK BLANK. Or the The end, when Jack almost kills them all with that BLANK, but then at the last second they get away.
Rachel: Joey! I can't believe you just did that!
Chandler: I can't believe she cracked your code!

Yeah. He was one of the positive things about the game. It's a shame he never went through with what he said with Squall.
I remember if you went to talk to him in the Ragnarok or whatever before the game is completed, he said something along the lines of needing to talk to Squall about personal stuff after the journey is over. It's more than likely going to be about him telling Squall he is his dad, Raine his mom, etc. Too bad the game never really followed up on this after the end.

ICO's ending for me... Got me at a bad time and opened up the flood gates.

Actually you can't really say "you know which scene" from MGS4 'cuz there were so many parts in MGS4 that made me emotional. Microwave? Big boss? Eva? Meeting up with Meryl? Intro? Outro? Shadow Moses?

Word. It wasn't so much what was going on on-screen ('cause honestly I've seen better staged/written drama), but the fact that I realized I basically grew up with these characters, and having them all sent off in such epic fashion was too nostalgic for me.

Fuckin' game milked my tear glands. :')

A Boy and his Blob Wii, the last two levels. What the crap, Wayforward.

A lot of the other suggestions are good for strong emotional reaction, but nothing I've played has compared to the above game. (Though the Mother series really gets me right there.)

I am a huge crybaby when it comes to certain things.

Valkyrie Profile DS is the only game that had me crying within the first 5 minutes, during the fucking tutorial. All three VP games kick my ass and make me cry like a little bitch.

I didn't cry, but damn I felt sad when this showed up. Laguna is the best character in the game and it's one of those rare occasions where you think: "I sure hope the guy gets an happy ending, he deserves it".
