Does anyone have experience with the Viewsonic VP2365-LED monitor? I want a good IPS monitor for amateur photography and gaming but I am having a tough time figuring which is the best for a good balance of those needs. My Samsung Syncmaster is getting old and I believe it's time to move into the ips realm.

Can somebody point me to a good 550W power supply. I'm new to all this and I'm looking to upgrade my card and power supply. Just not sure what the best or decent brands of power supply are. Also is this the best card I could get for around $250? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121775

Thanks for the help
Buy a coolmaster power supply. Cant go wrong with 700 or 750 watts for $75. Also the card is great for that price. I bought the 660 GT for that price here. One question. How much ram you got and what about your cpu?

When I put my computer to sleep, I have to press the power button to wake it. It doesn't show the login screen but goes straight to desktop, and half the time my USB keyboard is unresponsive until I unplug it and plug it back in. Is there something wrong with my sleep mode?

We built this Shield with console salt.

they actually have some mind blowing procedurally generated environments running on a single Titan. Better looking than some Pixar stuff.

I got 8GB Ram and my CPU is AMD Phenom II X6 1035T processor 2.60 ...My card is ATI Radeon HD 5700 series, it is a pre-made computer and now I'm looking to upgrade it. Should I do my CPU or my card first?

Does anyone know of any reviews of the effects of different ways to apply thermal paste?
I am thinking about reapplying some in a different style on my Hyper212 + after applying the pea method to an other direct heatpipe contact cooler.

I just put my pc in my living room and need options on how to get my harmony remote working with it.

I have a Logitech wirless keyboard track pad already hooked up to it but am not sure on how the USB dongle links and if that can double as a IR receiver for the remote.

How good of an OC should I expect for a i5 2500k with a h100i, maximus gene V, and some beastly fans in my case?
4.4-4.5GHz easily. 4.6-4.9GHz if you are willing to push voltage / temps.

Different thermal paste method might offer a few Celsius differences. Unless you know it's apply incorrectly, not worth taking apart and reapplying.

You need to get a IR receiver.

There's no reason to update to 8 yet. So stick with 7.

If the GPU is meant to be temporary anyway, you'd be better off buying used and reselling the card when you buy a 760 down the line.
Something like a 6950 should fit your budget nicely, give you better performance than a 7770 and is easily sold off for minimal loss a few months later.
I got it on sale for $75 so it's not big issue. I'm more worried about psu I should get.

Splash is all set up (kinda) I don't have the full loop yet, so am running off an H100 and stock GTX670 fan. Barely fit.

2550K is getting temps of 64C under 100% load with no errors in Prime 95 at 4.4GHz. Keeps locking up if I push further, which is strange, as I had it boot with 5.0 once, guess I'll push it more once it's under full loop.

Those not overclocking, can take a look at this cheap i7 Xeon Ivb. 4c/8t for $230, dayum. Well you can still do some overclocking playing with the fixed turbo settings and base clocks, maybe 4ghz max.

It does not come with integrated graphics though. But comes with vt-d for your virtualisation needs...it is a cool server chip after all.

Got another question about the Fractal Design Node 304 SFF build again. The Silverstone PSUs seem to be hard to come by in the UK, is Fractal Design's own Integra R2 a suitable substitute? It has the necessary shortness to not interfere with long graphics cards.

Should I get Windows 7 or 8 for my new PC?
I'm leaning towards sticking with 7 to escape all the metro bs.

Windows 8, I haven't had any compatibility issues with it. The update coming this year will make it even easier to use less of Metro. But you barely have to use it now anyway.

You get a few improved things, like a better task manager and faster boot up times. There is not a whole lot that is improved, but it helps. At least you know you are in the clear for the future with new DirectX stuff.

Remember some expert trying out different ways and pea method was best.
Reason was because it needed to spread as thin as possible without air bubbles and he claimed pea method was the best method for that. And differences between best methods were very small and you can get lucky/unlucky when applying or you have to be very, very methodical and precises.

Would a Phenom II X4 965 bottleneck a GTX650Ti Boost SuperClocked?
Bottlenecks aren't a constant. They can exist on multiple parts at the same time. It will be a limiting factor in a number of games, especially UE3, Blizzard titles, and multiplayer FPS's.

Guys i need help with standard build. The parts i can get are:

Intel i3 3220 3.3Ghz
MSI B75MA-P45
MSI GeForce GTX 660 2GB GDDR5 N660-2GD5/OC
WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB
500W Cooler Master B Series
THERMALTAKE Commander MS-I VN40001W2Z or COOLER MASTER
RC-334U-KKN1.

My questions are:
Is this mobo good for i5 if i decide to upgrade later ? Should i change something like graphics card brand, power supply...? Cant decide between these two cases,i couldn't find those from OP.

I found this to answer my question:

On an other note, does anyone know a good overclocking guide for Phenom II?
Brother got a 1055T and Gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3 for free off a friend and I am wondering what can be done with it.

It's a fine enougn build bar that PSU, I'd get something else. How much is it costing? Case too? You could upgrade to an i5 but you won't be able to overclock.

Would a Phenom II X4 965 bottleneck a GTX650Ti Boost SuperClocked?

It'll depend on the game, overclock your 965. Fingers crossed you can get it to around 4 GHz.

So far I found some pieces I would love to make a PC out of

Any recommendations of a decent motherboard and/or a power supply?

Why do you need a full tower case?

Don't get an FX 8150, if you're wanting AMD the 8350 is shit tons better. It's $180 with Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284

Get a 770 not a 680 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681412546

For the motherboard this is good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131851 or this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128514 and you'd want a decent PSU to support OCing the 8350 so whilst this 750w is overkill for $55 it's a steal http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

I'd advise a Hyper 212 too http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065

Considered Intel?

8. With Start replacements you don't have to deal with the new Start if you don't want to, and 8.1 is bringing stuff like boot to desktop. Better OS all round, and I quite like the new Start once you give it a chance.

At worst 4.5 if you don't have a dud chip

Most Coolermaster stuff isn't great

Change to the Gigabyte one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125466

PSU wise depends on what you can spend, for $80 this is great http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00918MEZG/?tag=neogaf0e-20

For $55 there is this XFX that is on offer and whilst it's overkill it's a great deal http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207023

So i hit some bsods with my new build and realized i forgot to stress-test my shit.

One of my RAM sticks is a total dud, just errrors out 1 min into memtest. I only have the single stick right now, probably gonna send it back for a replacement. Should i continue with prime and occt with the single stick?

Also, would furmark cause a bsod or is it just for checking gpu temps, etc?

What's the opinion of 120 hz monitors for people with the GPU power to get + 60 on most games out/coming out in the near future?

My main concern is the lowest amount of input lag and ghosting possible, is 120hz worth it?

1. You'll eventually upgrade the rest of the computer and it will catch up to the monitor

2. 120hz provides a better overall Windows experience akin to the difference between hd and ssd.

There is no reason to not get a 120hz monitor other than cost.

The higher refresh rate will help with panel response time, yeah.

Awww Okay, thank you. But I wanted a full tower so it would all fit, I've seen how tight of a fit graphics cards fit inside of a mid. I get so lost on the parts so thank you for helping. :)

Any reason you are going AMD for the CPU? At the high end stuff intel wins pretty much every time.

Windows 8.

Direct X 11.2 only works on Windows 8.1, and it's going to be a big deal since there is a lot of talk about using system memory to be used simultaneously with graphics card memory.

The Xbox One's design makes a lot of sense when you consider the above.

None of the graphics cards released right now support 11.2.

Just received mine yesterday, it's even 144hz. BenQ XL2411T. In dollars probably slightly over $300 but if you need to save up another month for something that will outlive your rig then by all means do so. It's not only one of the cheapest 120Hz monitors, in 2D it even goes over 120Hz, has almost 0 input lag and almost 0 response time, making it a perfect gaming monitor, especially for fps, racing and fighting games.
