Does anybody here know of any good internal wifi adapters for win 8.1? Surfing the net is fine but any sort of gaming or streaming and my wifi card can't handle it anymore. It USE to be good but for some reason the last few months it no longer seems to give consistent speeds.

Probably not going for high overclocks, I mostly chose it because it seems effective and quite silent. I'd love some alternate suggestions though (this includes the rest of my configuration above).Any reason why you're getting such an expensive CPU heatsink/fan? Seems kinda pricey to me, but I guess if you're going for high overclocks it could make sense.
Will 4K @ 120hz and gsync'd be a thing before the RoG Swift comes back in stock? It was stock at Newegg for 10 minutes while I was sleeping for the first time in 2 weeks >_>
Possibly a noob question but... is it ok if I start buying my pc parts now (as deals start appearing) even though I won't build until late December? I wouldn't want anything to die just sitting in my closet for 2 1/2 months lol
Why couldn't you?Is it possible to sell a PC that I built earlier this year?
I'm trying to minimize my life a little, and I rarely play PC games anymore.
Thanks for the feedback and answers guys!!. Decided to return my 4790k and trade it in for a 5820k.
When all the dust is settled its 350 more but I get the Asus X99 deluxe mobo and 16 gigs of DDR4 G. Skill ram I get to keep when I upgrade to Skylake etc.
Darn amazon is great for returns!
Want to upgrade from my SAPPHIRE 2GB 7870 XT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202024). I have had multiple people recommend a jump to a GTX 970. What do you guys think? And is the Strix GTX 970 recommended (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121899)?
Notes: I have a 3570k CPU and a HX750i PSU
Skylake-E is a long, long way off and might not even use the same socket. This build will last you ages regardless.
Unfortunately, that's your problem. I don't think you will find the fantastic deal you are looking for with a pre built PC (depending on where you look)I don't want to build it from scratch
Unfortunately, that's your problem.
Why couldn't you?
Ready to pull the trigger on a 970. Which one would you guys go with? I'm leaning towards MSI when it comes back in Stock.

I figured selling a barely dated PC would be difficult.
Ok. I went with Gigabyte simply for the cooling. I ordered it off Amazon even though it's currently out of stock. Hopefully it comes back in stock soon. Thanks.MSI and gigabyte are the most popular. They have great coolers and a good stock overclock. The gigabyte edges out the MSI in cooling though but it's also more expensive and a lot bigger of a card.
The Asus is no slouch either though. It is probably the quietest and despite having the lowest factory over clock, my personal asus has a lot of headroom for over clocking. I haven't even broken 50% fan usage yet either. Its also the cheapest in US stores at least.
Really it's hard to go wrong with any of them. Even the evga despite getting a little flack for its power setup and off center cooling pipes is a fine card. Evga has the highest factory overclock as well if you have no intentions of tweaking it yourself.
I went with the first one to come back in stock of the MSI, Asus and gigabyte. It happened to be the Asus and I am more than happy with it.

I'm tempted to go ahead and order my parts despite the 980 being out of stock but man, when you have an estimated date of 1-2 months shipping it kinda makes you not want to...
I guess I could use integrated or just pull the GPU out of this PC and use it but eh...doesn't seem worth it because I'll miss on deals if I do that. AMD not releasing anything this year is creating way too much demand.
BTW, what do you guys think about those rumors about 980 8GB VRAM cards coming soon? Probably a 2015 thing?

Must... Resist... CORSAIR air 540 available for $80 locally...
I'm building a general computing rig for my mom and wanted to double check that this is legit.
Do I need the CM Hyper 212 EVO?
Do I need to buy thermal paste?
Yeah, I think the 970 would be a nice upgrade for you. And based on what I have been reading around, the Strix is a great choice.
Wow. Good deal. Don't resist. I have enjoyed mine.
Pros: Makes you an instant cable management genius with that big back chamber.
Looks
Airflow (Its very open)
Cons: Very wide if you are keeping it on a desk or something
Dust (Its very open)
Flat top attracts sleepy kitty cats

I recently got a 5820k, and I tried to overclock it to 4.4GHz. I tried voltage 1.350, and it did not boot. The only stable overclock that I have been able to get is 4.0 at 1.250 voltage. Do you guys think that my CPU is busted? If so, would you recommend replacing it with another one?
Need more info:
What is the rest of your rig? Mobo/PSU/Ram...? Cooling...?
Are you following any particular guide on how to OC that part...?
The PSU is 750W, Motherboard is MSI X99S SLI Plus, Ram is 2133 Corsair 16GB, and I have not been able to find any guides on it.
What cooler are you running...? This is very important...!! Do you have aftermarket cooling on it...?
You should not just jump in and throw it up to higher voltages like 1.35 right away. I am not a Haswell-E owner, but I can tell you that you need to be slow and methodical to OC a chip.
I just did a quick look, and there are not a lot of full guides around yet for that setup. It is pretty new to the market. I suggest you go to the owners thread for that chip at Overclock.net, try to learn about it...and ask questions there. The people there are real experts in this stuff.
