ICO, SotC, God of War1/2 to have PS Vita remote play

is you PS3 connected to your home network through Wireless connection? because I don't think you can use the Wireless as a input & output at the same time. you would have to have it connected through Lan to use your PS3 as a wireless access point. well that's the way I think it works.
Nope,to use your ps3 as an access point you don't need to connect it to either wifi or lan,it's just a local network formed between the vita and the ps3 on enabling remote play

I feel like this is such a worthless feature, really. It's cool and stuff, just .... that's it. I guess if you're a kid and other people want to use the TV, it's useful.

I agree with you if Sony stops here. What we have now is more like a proof-of-concept. Great that they choose Ico/SotC, but there are some usability gaps (e.g., http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=41788820&postcount=231), and other useful use cases that I hope they can follow up.

EDIT:
Did they improve the PSOne Classics RemotePlay in v1.80 ?

Cans you choose how it connects? My PS3 is wired and is making its own wifi access point, but is it possible to connect locally via my wireless router, which is better at reaching further in my house

I guess you own one of those early MotionFlow TVs.

Nope.. 2 of the first flatscreen introduced.. Some old ass grundig sets.. They work fine..

You can see for yourself in my video above about the lag.. I did not see any, and I have completed the game on ps2 and ps3.. But i'm also 37 years old, so my eyes are not as young anymore.

You can but there will be performance issues due to the added hop.

My eyes are only 21 and i couldn't see any lag when i made my video either :)

For those of you with it working- whats the visual quality like? Is it a blurry mess or does it look "fuck"awesome on datoled.

wow, great stuff...tho not perfect.

Running via wifi through my router - in the same room it's perfect, but if you move about it doesn't seem to like that...by time I got to my bedroom it had frozen but on returning to the front room picked it up again.

Overall I'm happy - tried both Ico & SotC - digital UK versions.

This is great if the Mrs is watching something and you want to play, what more do you need?

Edit - just tried the disk version - no joy

Another edit - patching disk version...

last edit - yup - just the one patch this time, works fine and this time with the amazing selection screen :)

Bah... still no patch notification yet when I started Ico not 5 seconds ago. 8^/

fuckawesome. Really. I have the image quality on +1 if that makes any difference. This setting is available when you press and hold on the front screen.

I will now test the multimedia streaming of this. I'll stream my iTunes content and some videos from my Mac to my PS3 and then to my Vita. It worked alright with the PSP.

Very good, not blurry at all.
The problem I remember having with the original Remote play option was getting a lot of artifacts from streaming compression (plus lag). I guess the updated Remote Play remedies this problem and uses the full vita resolution, plus allows usage of all buttons and analog sticks? If so, that's a big improvement

I know that I'm asking if it still work that way when your PS3 is connected through wireless to your network.

because that might be a conflict if the PS3 is using the Wifi to connect to the network & you're trying to use the PS3 wifi to connect to the Vita.

My PS3 is connected through ethernet to my Router/Modem.

I was downloading RDR on my ps3 that is connected via wifi. turned on remote play with private network and played sotc on my vita. no visible lag. after that I checked rdr download , it had downloaded more while I was using remote play .

are you using your PS3 as the access point for your PS Vita? because that's what he is trying to get working.

It's looks good but not fuckawesome good, there are some minor compression artifacts at least in gow 2 which i've played for about 1.5 hours now with this

I already got it working. I just unregistered my Vita and registered again to my PS3.

Did you set the image quality to +1? Off course there are compression artifacts though but considering my expectations the results are fuckawesome for me.

If you have a 19.99 router from walmart sure. Played on a hard wired gigabit switch to a linksys dd-wrt router with god of war. Playing within range of the router or on my network extender and have had no issues.

It can fluctuate at times, but it is mostly smooth for me. Lucky I guess, as it seems that the quality of the stream is highly variable reading this thread.

Am I missing something or is the ICO collection update not up yet in the US? SCEA is so slow on these things.

Hi there! I apologize for the confusion. The patches for ICO and Shadow of the Colossus will go live at 8:00 PM PST today. This works whether you have the collection on disc, or if you bought them from PSN. Thanks for waiting, just a few more hours!

UGH!!!!!

SotC doesn't work for me. God of war is flawless. Im going to try it over the internet from work tonight, i'm not expecting that to work but figured why not...

I use RemotePlay sometimes on my office PS3. If I connect to the office WiFi router, other people can interfere with the experience. If I use my own Airport Extreme, the experience is more predictable but occasionally I still experience some pauses. However, if I connect to PS3's Wifi Private Network directly, the experience is the best.

I think "Internet Connection" is best used when you're outside, or out of range of the PS3's built-in Wifi coverage.

Is this live in the US? I have SotC HD from PSN. I might even have this installed so I would try it for just that.

Fun fact: Remote Play supports DLNA connections

I.e. PC/Mac/dedicated client networked to PS3 = media access on Vita/PSP anywhere

I used to use it all the time.

Aha for some reason didn't think of using remote play for accessing videos. Thanks!

Fucking bullshit. I'm now locked out of SoTC on PS3. I guess we shouldn't "transfar" since that's what i wanted to test. In remote play, I loaded a save file, traveled to a new save point and now tried to see if it worked on the ps3. Locked out.

That doesn't make any sense. When you're using Remote Play, you're playing right off the PS3.

Trust me, I couldn't select sotc. Tried twice. Rebooted the system again. Let's see if it works.

Phew, it works. If anyone runs into this, reboot the system? Let me know if it happens as well so I know I'm not crazy.

The same video (720p or less) will be prettier when played on Vita directly. Streaming it off DLNA over RemotePlay makes it look soft (too soft).

Some PS3 apps like "Life with Playstation", "PlayMemories" work with RemotePlay also. But really, these apps will work better with a touchscreen. ^_^
