ICO, SotC, God of War1/2 to have PS Vita remote play

People who are playing Ico remotely. Are you in EU or US ? It's not out in US yet when I checked about an hour ago.

I tried SOTC it looked fine.. But the lag.. Even the music lagged for me. But it got better after a couple of minutes.. Still not perfect, but playable.

ICO looked even better, and played better, still laggy but not as much as sotc..

But I would always prefer playing the games on my ps3.

Are you planning over the internet or using the PS3 as an access point?

I think the people with Lag should post their Set up so people will know what not to do & the people without lag should post their Set up so people with lag will know what to do.

like What type of router you're using & if your PS3 is connected Wireless or Lan & if there is other stuff running on your network that could be causing the lag, & if you are playing over the internet or local.

I like this idea.

Juet tried sotc with local network. That worked much much much better.! No lag whatsoever.! Worked like a charm. Looked great wnd played great.!

Just a reminder for those playing the gow collection, you can enable the 'full frame' option in the options menu

D^8 ! Read this a few times.

Will try whenever Sony makes Ico/SotC available on US Store.

Excellent! Seems like the direct PS3 to Vita works as expected. Looking for more evidence. I'll try it out tonight as well.

Can someone post a video of this on Youtube? This shit seems mindblowing. I just hope Sony ports the feature over to next-gen PS3 titles. I wanna see those Valkyria Chronicles on this :(. My OLED weeps.

Thanks for the answers, guys. Two more questions:

1.) I enabled Remote Start on the PS3 and selected the ability to Remote Start over the Internet. It warned me that this could cause the PS3 to unintentionally start on its own, but I was like "yeah, whatever, that won't happen." Of course, within a minute of shutting my PS3 down, it automatically turned back on all on its own! So, I went back into the settings, turned off Remote Start, then turned it back on again, but this time without enabling the ability to Remote Start over the Internet. I assume this means that I can now only Remote Start over my Private Network. Do I still run the risk of the PS3 unintentionally turning on by itself with this setup?

2.) I played God of War via Remote Play, and it is amazing. However, I noticed that there is a small black border surrounding the image on my Vita, even though I have Full Screen turned on in the game's settings. Anyone else experience this? If so, do you know why this is?

this is pretty neat. though there's some lag in gow1 and this runs at 60fps on ps3, wonder how games like killzone 2/3 does.

oh and sony needs to update ico/shadow to work for the us

uploading from my crappy htc phone right now .. should be up in 5 - 10 mins.

this remote play is so useless wasting electricity really, how many people actual use that thing?

Since Remote Play hit a few years back I basically used it to que downloads and installs from work. When I'd get home I'd have everything ready to go.

Recently I've used it for parties where I set Remote Play to use my surround sound system for audio out and my Vita as the control screen.

I wish it worked when the ps3 was already on. If you have remote start on, you can turn the PS3 on from the vita. But if the pS3 is already on, you can't kick it into remote play mode from the vita. Often I'll set off a large queue of downloads (eg on PS+ update day) and then switch the TV over. I'd like to remote play into the PS3 to see how things are going, but I can't.

Also, how is this working? Sounds like you use the normal remote play to dial into the PS3, but then the individual games have new remote play capabilities built into them to give improved quality?

Yes and no. If the PS3 game knows it's being accessed via Remote Play then it can make some small changes to better suit the Vita/PSP. PixelJunk Shooter actually had a remote play specific mode that took better advantage of the PSP's controls, and Shadow of the Colossus apparently renders the game at a small resolution, which helps push the video signal across the internet with less stress.

can't you just que the downloads and then switch to remote play ..?? I do that to check on my downloads..

Just finished half hour of God of War 2 remote play goodness... Wow! A great improvement from the PSP remote play, with better image fidelity and, from my experience, imperceptible lag. Only had an half a second freeze when I smashed a secret wall to a chest.

Now the cons. The setting process should be more straightforward. I tried to set my PS3 as the access point and it never showed on the available access points in the network settings on my Vita. I had previously registered my Vita and tried start a remote play session on the Vita with no success (no connection error message) until I finally tried to start it first on my PS3, which then started the session with no problem. Though as some posts here advised that setting the PS3 as the access point should be optimal I wanted to set that so I unregistered my Vita from my PS3 and then registered again and then my PS3 finally showed as an access point for my Vita wifi. Phew. Good thing I'm stubborn persistent.

Make this process more user friendly, and make it so that the PS3 as the access point is the default option and this feature will fulfill its full potential. The available titles must grow steadily too. I'm most curious to try a PS3 title. What were the PS3 titles that enabled remote play? *opens google*

I feel like this is such a worthless feature, really. It's cool and stuff, just .... that's it. I guess if you're a kid and other people want to use the TV, it's useful.

is you PS3 connected to your home network through Wireless connection? because I don't think you can use the Wireless as a input & output at the same time. you would have to have it connected through Lan to use your PS3 as a wireless access point. well that's the way I think it works.

Hey, it's a selling point for the Wii-U, isn't it? And that's not me be disparaging either- I actually think it's a value proposition for some people.

Or if you're the father of that kid and he wants to see the same episode of Code Lyoko for the nth time. hehehehe Or the missus wants to check on the last episode of some horrible soap opera.

Hm- I seem to be getting the message "This Content cannot be used during remote play" when attempting to launch the Ico Collection. Anyone else having issues? I'm connected with Remote play on the Vita but it doesn't seem to work.

Did you patch the Ico Collection? If so, reboot the Vita & PS3 for the hell of it.

You need to launch the game on the PS3 first to download a patch that enables the remote play of that title.

Does this work for both disc and download versions of ICO/SotC? Almost tempted to double dip for ICO as ts a bit silly to leave a disc in the machine for remote play

wow, great stuff...tho not perfect.

Running via wifi through my router - in the same room it's perfect, but if you move about it doesn't seem to like that...by time I got to my bedroom it had frozen but on returning to the front room picked it up again.

Overall I'm happy - tried both Ico & SotC - digital UK versions.

This is great if the Mrs is watching something and you want to play, what more do you need?

Edit - just tried the disk version - no joy

Another edit - patching disk version...

last edit - yup - just the one patch this time, works fine and this time with the amazing selection screen :)

You probably need to check your antenna strength if it's that bad.
