If Tim Tebow wins the Super Bowl, mosques will burn and immigrants will be banished

All hail Tim Tebow, my lord and savior.

Dude, not funny.

Rabbi's just jealous. Jews had to spend 40 years in the wilderness before receiving Yahweh's favor. Tebow only had to spend one.

I do not have anything against the man, but I cannot help but despise him because of the fucking media.

I'd hate Mother Teresa too if she got as much media exposure as Tebow does.

I guess American sports media is so tired of the top story every week being that the Packers are still undefeated that they're clamoring for fucking anything else vaguely interesting to report on. Listening to all this hyperbolic Tebow stuff you'd think a football team has never in the history of the sport come back from a loss because of good players before.

This whole week it's like they've just up and decided to pretend the Packers just don't exist anymore. It's pretty funny. Then again I suppose between the Packers destroying Oakland and The Broncos pulling off a "miraculous" victory in overtime, the more interesting story is obvious.

The Chiefs will pull the upset this week.

Meh

Kurt Warner did it first, did it better, and no one gave a shit that he was very religious.

Tebow only gets the recognition because his shitty play gives the illusion that God is involved when they win. Because how else could it happen? derp

Well for those that fear Tebow, you don't have to worry about him ever becoming President, since he can't.

Unless they ever change that law anyway.

Oh lawd, Tyler Palko AKA Shane Falco couldn't win you game if he was granted Tebow Powers
Palko gets killed on the first offensive play, Ricky "The Manzi" Stanzi comes in with his Captain America cape* on and takes the Stanzi City Chiefs to the Super Bowl.** It'll be a Christ Tebow vs. America Stanzi Super Bowl, and the "My Country Right or Wrong" evangelicals' heads will collectively explode.

Pow, I was going to say exactly this! Ricky Stanzi gonna shock the world! Fuck Andrew Luck. Stanzi.

I'm standing by my theory that Tebow will trigger the end of days when he wins the Superbowl. Even if the end times doesn't come and he gets a win, I can't think of an evangelical christian that would have a bigger stage.

I just don't get it. Ok, he believes in God. Why is there hate?

I think people get annoyed that his piousness leads to a lot more fan support from around the country than his football skills deserve.

Also, his opponents may not appreciate the implication that they lost because God loved them less.

Because his talents (mostly related to his mechanics) fly in the face of conventional Football thinking. His failure was a pre-ordained certainty. Especially in this era of Sabre-minded sports, where ideas like 'heart', 'grittiness' and 'leadership' are archaic cliches that don't mean anything.

Which is why his success if such an amazing story. The 'good, Christian boy' angle just adds more to it.

It would be like if Shaq hit 100% of his free throws for his career or Vlad Guerrero was a .400 hitter. Those probably don't mean anything to a non-American sports fan, but they are apt comparisons.

I'm an atheist who has zero problems with Tim Tebow. Sure the man is faithful, strongly so, but he isn't hurting anyone and he does a lot of good for others.

I also don't think he claims god has any role in his success. At worst he thanks Jesus after a game, it's not like he's going, "haha you heathens! I told you so, better convert before you burn in hell!!". The guy doesn't press much.

The folks who hate him are insecure atheists or are just haters. (or still legitimately dislike him as a QB).

I like Tebow. He totally gives all credit to God his any success he achieves.

Tebow is the man and he gets extra respect for actually standing for what he believes in.

Yeah it's really hard to dislike him personally.

Most people hate him because what the media does and how they prop him up, but he doesn't do anything bad to justify personal hate. He can't control the media.

I don't agree with his faith but I'm not going to bash him for it. That's just immature.

Brady is gonna bring the ruckus. 17 points or less won't get it done this week Timmy.

But yeah, his gf has great fucking tits and is hot as shit.

Really? Because I remember him saying in a couple interviews that what he does on the field is all him and teammates.

I think he's more in the mindset of "god gave me the abilities, it's up to me to use them" sort of deal.

I sort of don't get why Tebow's faith is seen as so special. A lot of players seem religious. Reggie White became a minister.

God won't give you anything that you can't handle. Tebow was simply pre-determined to be born better because he'd actually go through on sending god's message to the world.

Brady, please bash this guys face in.

You are wrong.

Edit: Actually, I might be. Both of his parents are naturalized citizens, the definition is kinda hazy.

Pretty sure that chick with the huge tits isn't his girlfriend.

I blame toothless mouthbreathing Gata fans for the Tebow hype phenomenon. They started it.

Brady doesn't play defense. Maybe he should though, they couldn't be any worse than they are now.

It is ok, I hear the pats are going to clone edelman a few times to strenghten the D.
Well all this tebow love at least increases the chances i can see the pats game this sunday ;)

But Brady can score points. And scoring more than 20 points against Denver should solidify a win.

If they had a good defense I would agree. Tebow's more than capable of putting up 30+ on a shit defense. He just did it a couple of weeks ago against the Vikings, and they have a better pass rush than the Patriots do.

Broncos scored more than 30 against both the Vikings and Oakland with Tebow. I'm pretty sure the patriots have a lower ranked defense than either one.

Not saying they'll win, but stranger things have happened....

I think he's a genuine guy. I'm not religious at all, but I don't care if he is. He's a clean cut upstanding guy. Sometimes his constant thanking of God is annoying, but it seems harmless. He's also proof you don't need to be the most talented person to succeed. He's a good leader and the team is running well behind him. He's always giving someone else the credit too. Sounds like the kinda guy I would want to play with honestly.

I think he gets more publicity for this whole thing than Kurt Warner did due to his success in college. People have been doubting him since he graduated. I was one of them. Now he's succeeding depsite all his critics. It just makes for an interesting story.

I don't really remember the mass expulsions of jews and brown people from florida when tebow won two national championships.

The Cubans went up to Maine to pick Strawberries or whatever that is up there, does that count?
HEY-OH?

Tebow makes me want to renounce my Christianity. There's something about him that just makes me loathe him.

Clown team they played on Sunday couldn't get the job done >_<.

I live in Gainesville.

They fucking worship him here. My sister-in-law and her daughter have a literal shrine in their boudoir, decked out with jerseys, posters, and the countless signed pictures and hats he did for them everywhere (seemingly against the rules, but he broke them because this little blonde girl with huge dimples asked nicely).

The Christian Bookstore across the street from the Oaks Mall in that smaller stripmall (that used to have an AMC that is now a Christian Movie theater or something like that, despite showing X-men First Class...) had his biography in the window which made me lol. I don't care about football at all and Gainesville's fascination with the sport/UF team and Tebow (and whats his face that was under Spirrer) after winning games is hilarious.

Edit: Whoops, meant to edit this in. Damn multi-quote doesn't work with edit. :/

what is this i don't even.... Tebow is a feel good story for fellow god fearing people. It's nice to see someone we think is genuinely good to have success...

but to instill violence? anyone who does that is already crazy and just using tebow as an excuse.

Yes i know gaf.. anyone who believes in god is already crazy.. blah blah

Well, maybe it's because you say things like:

Tebow is a feel good story for fellow god fearing people.

Which sounds psychotic.

Tebow makes me want to renounce my Christianity. There's something about him that just makes me loathe him.

I think there's something hilarious about 1000 years of known sordid history that hasn't made you want to renounce Christianity, but a young, earnest athlete that is drawing a lot of attention leaves it all up in the air.

Dude Abides said:
Ooooh, scary. The anchor of a defense so stout it holds opponents to only slightly over 400 yards a game!

Pats' D-line != Pats' secondary

Tebow and his shitty arm make for perhaps the best match-up for the Pats' D this season.
