Illusory Revelations#FE (SMTxFE) - First Trailer, Winter 2015 [Up: Screenshots]

This doesn't even look like persona to me besides the high school kids setting. I really don't get how people keep saying its persona.

I wager OP is trolling us by adding smtxfe in the title simply because of FE. They are both irrelevant
I think.

wat? The old SMT title preface + the "hashtag/sharp FE" basically confirms that this is SMTxFE.

Well, I'm pretty sure it's way more Persona than what anyone was expecting... SMT usually does "high school" in a really different way and this is well, uh... o_o

I think we really have to see more of this before jumping to any conclusions.

My mind thinks back to the Persona 5 teaser trailer, and how people made assumptions of what it would turn out to be. And then it turned out to be something totally different. We've seen more of this re-unveiled SMTxFE project now than P5 at that point, though.

For a long time, I’ve wanted to create a Fire Emblem in our times, in the real world. Imagine a Pegasus that comes from the sky and lands on Building 109 of Shibuya, Tokyo. I always thought that would be incredible.

At the same time, I know it’s hard because of how Fire Emblem is. I visited many companies to express these ideas. When I went to Atlus, I was told that Shin Megami Tensei together with Fire Emblem is what I wanted.

So, I soon said that to Intelligent Systems and started this very special collaboration.
Oops! I shouldn’t say that the game takes place in the real world. We haven’t announced it, right?

The video portrayed exactly what he said and imagined back in late 2013.

Real talk, this title's been in the dark for so long that I was never sure what to expect. That said, I've always felt that there's been a good level of context surrounding Atlus choice in design. That and for a while since it's reveal it's been mentioned how it would clearly be a "modern day" interpretation of the elements of both franchises.

It's not what I expected but I'm sure that it's going to be worth it. Atlus has rarely let me down.

Cool SMT's look, FE's characters, all while being a pop star who fights evil demons. Yup, I'd play it.

In before the community complains about the aesthetics, then complain when they do not want to bring it over because they complained about the aesthetics haha.

Although I never said it, I thought nothing would actually come of this, so I am surprised by this news.

Anyways, it looks okay. Not graphically impressive, but the design is alright. I wish we saw more of the gameplay instead of a bunch of anime cutscenes mashed together.

In that case, welp.

As a Persona fan this doesn't look interesting to me at all. It looks much more over-the-top and pander-y than Persona typically does.

Yeah, it definitely looks more like Persona than it does mainline SMT.

That shot of the partially destroyed, flooded city at towards the end though. I really hope that it ends up being darker than it first appears to be.

is anyone in either fanbase satisfied with this?

As someone that is part of both fanbases, yes.

I like the idea, this could be something pretty neat if they develop it properly. Reminds me of the first time I saw Persona 1 compared to the SMT games at the time and that's really turned into something wholly different.
