115 GB update I assume has the pathtracking patch. I'm still waiting for the 9th to play.
edit-never mind it's already over. was a much smaller patch

Quick and dirty image slider comparison:

Got the latest patch on PC. Frame generation is seriously broke in this game. Huge lag when turning at times, sometimes FG gets disengaged when turning off and on for comparison and the only way to make it work again is restarting the whole game. Recommend setting to DLSS Quality mode with no FG. Still get 80-90fps with Full RT on, on a 4090.

There’s woke crap in it (a lesbian character), but the rage grifters on Twitter haven’t played that far yet to throw a fit over it. The boycott and rage bait will start around Tuesday or Wednesday.
Yeah, but there have been lesbians throughout history. Indy was bound to run into one.

They(Machine Games) were calculated about it. Most men find female homosexuality inoffensive. Some even fetishize it. Threesomes, lesbian porn, etc. Especially if neither of the women are unattractive or cosplaying as a man. Case in point. Was this woke?

I had something similar - Turned out to be iCue running causing it

Yeah. The update is misleading. At first, it looks like it is 115GB and then it switches to 2.3GB.

Classic Microsoft silliness.

Of course it has to update when I am using my smartphone as a mobile hotspot. Microsoft needs to make it more obvious when it's apps need updates.

This might sound weird but I feel like this is more like this years Alan Wake 2 - it is very much about the vibes, atmosphere and story vs awesome gameplay mechanics. It’s very much a cinematic game.

Try the pathtracing for us. Does it look significantly different?
Tried it and FPS was awful. And don't want to drop my res down to 1440P or lower with DLSS.

You really do need a 4080 to 4090 to play with PT on this game. Someone did test the game with it in the below video and it looks fantastic

The puzzle/exploration game play is top notch in this though. Combat I can see but this game is chock full of fun gameplay.

Have you lowered the textures pool size ?

Another session and it’s climbing my GOTY list… I’m doing the final things at the vatican and it’s already top 3 this year for me. As an Indy movie fan I’m floored, no doubt the best Indy game ever and the whole thing feels like a movie and without gameplay getting downgraded, and the atmosphere is sooo good. They’ve been cooking this well!

Absolutely love how much freedom there is too, in everything from combat to how you reach areas of interest and the alternate routes. Top notch. And I like how you use the torches and can throw them into dark holes and over chasms to have later. Brilliant!

It’s slow-paced though. Slower than expected. Too slow at times imo. And very stealth focused unless you want a whole army rushing after you. I hear comparisons to Uncharted but unless it changes later people really shouldn’t go in expecting an Uncharted here, or Tomb Raider, this is a different type of game even if the themes are similar.
Nailed it! My feelings exactly.
I’m now two areas past Egypt and the game keeps getting better. INSANE set pieces and areas keep looking better and better.

Cmon man. You can't do this to me. I already thought the vatican was 10/10 and you're saying it gets even better?

The gameplay is certainly better than Alan wake for sure but I just think the star of the show is how well it immerses you into feeling like Indiana jones. Story prob better than the last two films as well.

Personally thought Egypt was much better than Vatican

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Is it that bad?

Nah, the console version's great for console. 1800p/locked 60fps in game play/RTGI.

PC version's just naturally using better settings. Better RTGI and the path tracing will make shadows and lighting stand out even more.

They're both great, but if you have both devices and a capable enough PC, the PC version is going to be better naturally.

  • Fix for occasional stuttering that might be seen in cutscenes.
  • Improved performance on larger game levels if using an 8GB VRAM video-card.

They fixed the one notable issue DF pointed out in the console video.

Thanks for beta testing, early access folks :D

To anyone who hasn't noticed yet, DLSS does not work with HDR. Unless they've updated it in the past 24hr.

Edit: I guess it was resolved 4 hours ago.

-Fix for issue where enabling HDR and DLSS simultaneously might result in a moiré effect on plain white walls.

It's a literal generational difference in lighting at times. It's so impressive.

I mean look at this:

Looks like a generational leap. Some guy said path tracing wont do much in this game a few days ago lol. I hope PS6 will be able to do some kind of path tracing, because this shit looks insane

All the caves / indoors mainly will be transformative with path tracing and there’s a lot of that in the game.

Can my 3080 Ti survive it thought 😬
