well Bought it with a 64 micro-sd (I never use much memory) anyone know how close is it size-wise to a 3ds-XL ? (I used my old case for my GPD XD)
 
Do you guys think this will continue to have enough stock through their partners for a long time or that it'll sell out soon and no more will be produced?

Played Doom 2016. I can get better framerate but I have to tweak that config file some more.

Also I still have to do the heatsink mod. Enable gpu boost and regedit for high performance mode and I'll do another video.

Next video I'm doing is Owlboy. It looks amazing on the display. Plus portable Owlboy is amazing in and of itself.

I'd love to know how it runs The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth, especially in cases where you get a really crazy run with effects that fill the screen.

Are you going to do a guide for all the little optimization tweaks to the GPD Win?
 
Phawx, real quick, does the 5Ghz wifi connecting work as expected? I'm sure it's fine but I haven't seen any confirmation.

Also, I loved that Xbox Halo video -- do you own a PS4 and if so, any chance you could do a remote play test? I'll probably be using my Win for a lot of that.

I'm not sure this will be your solution, I think n64 emulation is pretty CPU bound (to emulate MIPS). Phawx can probably try some games out for you?
 
I know it's a bit silly to ask it on release date but are there any comments from GPD team regarding future of this platform? Back in February news showed up that intel will end the Atom processors line for mobile space soon. Recently intel announced successors that are roughly 50% faster but intented only for smart home products. With that much power difference it would be a shame if GPD Win2 ain't happening at some point...

They haven't said anything for a while, and the last thing they did say was a few months ago that there might not be a GPD Win 2. We'll see, though.

How do you have Owlboy already? I want my copy yesterday. Game looks great.

No dates are set in stone at the moment but you're at the back end of roughly 5000 or so people.
That said assuming no more surprises come up and everything is shipped out by order date I'd assume everyone's will be shipped out by the mid November based on what ED has said over at pyra forums and what we know currently about their production rate.

I've been using 5ghz WiFi exclusively on this device. Works perfect. I do have a PS4, but because of the DS4 requirementhe, don't think I'm going to test that.
 
OK, add me to the GPD Win club-- just ordered one from Geekbuying. I get the feeling that a better version will end up coming all too soon, but I'm just too curious about this thing to wait.

After the GCW-Zero shipping fiasco, I will never back hardware on KS/IGG ever again. Wouldn't have bought a GPD Win if I couldn't just order one online.

Welp. I'll cancel it, then. An improved version is on its way by the time I get mine. Or someone here will sell their used one.
 
I'm still waiting for GPD to say what exactly were the stability issues with the 8750.
I think it was more of a supply issue and couldn't get a good deal or steady supply of 8750's instead of some made up excuses of stability problems.
Congrats Phawx and looking forward to more videos and especially those that test the 8700 vs 8750 .
 
I hope we can make an OT for it with a bunch of optimization tricks to get the most out of it and people posting their performance on several games
 
Had a massive headache last night and I woke up with a headache :/

Apologies for not getting any videos out yesterday. Bringing the device with me to work today, I'll prepare a bunch of material to take video later tonight.

I did benchmark the default 8750 version though. When I get my 8700 (I have a single digit order ID on IGG) I'll benchmark that so we can get definitive results.

Also I have a strong feeling there is some extra power we can sap out of the device. When I benchmark the memory, speeds seem kind of low and when I check with CPUZ it doesn't even see the ram let alone if it's dual channel.

When I go into the bios, it looks like it's set up correctly including dual channel mode being explicitly declared. The one variable that is enabled is 'memory scrambler' which as far as I've read improves power and obfuscates data on memory for security purposes.

Ideally I'd like to disable memory scrambler and test memory bandwidth again, but I'd like to know how to clear cmos before making any changes.
