Indivisible: Valkyrie Profile/Metroid, Indiegogo, PC/Mac/Linux/PS4/XB1 -- funded!

3/10, gotta be a troll! Doesn't have enough "rant" to be a real "anti-SJWer" lol.
Why does it
almost
always have to be anime avatars that spew this kind of vitriol? And people take issue when they make fun of anime avatars.
As someone with an "anime" avatar:

Laugh while you can. We took the FGC, we took 4chan and soon we'll take Indivisible. Can't wait for everyone to get Triggered (huehuehue) once we get the intro stretch goal.

Starting to prep the next stretch goals...

Having read this, I feel inclined to post the speech evaluation from Billy Madison.

Pretty much, yes.

On a different topic, has the team given an interview where they discuss the transition of going from a fighting game to an RPG?

It's come up in a few interviews I've given, although I couldn't tell you where they are right now.

The main thing we talk about is how fighting game experience is actually a great fit for this kind of combat, etc.

Wait, that petition wasn't a joke Lab Zero made?

Nah, there is a small, vocal minority of people who really hate the fact that this game exists and have dedicated a lot of time to it.

I mentioned it in the Confessions thread, but

To be fair, he's not alone. You should see some of the sheer venom I've seen regarding Indivisible offsite. Everything from shitting on Mariel for a twitter comment to saying 'this game's so expensive because they live in LA, why don't they just fucking move somewhere not so expensive' to whining about them pandering to SJWs to calling Mike Z "Kike Z" and saying LZ is pretending to be poor because of 'Skullgirls profit'.

First of all, congratulations on getting funded! I can only imagine it must have been pretty stressful, but you definitely deserve it after all the effort that has gone into rounding up the necessary support for this game. I'm super excited to see the eventual finished product! It's especially nice that we'll be getting a game with so much different representation in it. I've always wanted more games with lots of diversity in the cast like this.

I wanted to ask, since it was mentioned before that people could continue to back the game after the campaign has ended, how long will that be open? I don't have much in the way of spending money at the current moment, but I'd love to back this game at a later date depending on how long the slacker funding goes on for.

The "they should move" thing is so ridiculous.

I mean, first, it wouldn't save much money at all. Salaries don't scale very much with location regardless of where you are in this industry - if you live in a more expensive area, you're just supposed to deal with it and get a room mate. And office rent is a tiny fraction of the total budget.

Second, I'm pretty sure if anyone suggested their company move so their customers could save a little money, they'd balk at the idea of moving away from their friends and family.

The rest is just hateful and not worthy of response. And some of the things said about Mariel on 4chan literally ruined my day a few weeks ago.

Plan is to leave it open until any stretch goals we may fund would start becoming infeasible because of scheduling stuff. So I think we're looking at up to a year.

We'll probably retire a lot of the physical goods before then in order to keep those somewhat exclusive for backers, but don't have an exact timeline.

The "they should move" thing is so ridiculous.

I left out most of the random bullshit which I'm sure you've heard at some point.

There's a phenomenon which happened with this game in particular, and I've had a couple friends respond to me with various connections to this, but it seems like with some people Indivisible's supporters being so strong in their promotion and going out of their way to amplify exposure to the project has had a negative effect.

Nothing you can really do about that, though.

One person in particular, when I brought up the game in one of the chats I frequent, commented that he's sick of hearing about Indivisible. I can actually see where he's coming from - at the moment of funding and in the days prior, the front board of 4chan's /v/ was flooded with duplicate threads about Indivisible getting funded, and this kind of garnered resentment there in particular, among other places. If I was apathetic and Neogaf's front page was flooded with threads about a game I didn't care about, I could see how that would make ME annoyed.

For some people, they're actually less interested in the game thanks to all this kerfuffle. Like I said, though, you can't really win with these sorts of situations.

Can we keep this pinned at the top of gaming side?

I was one of the people posting on social media to youtubers and some gaming sites about the campaign, I was really worried about this exact thing. I hope it wasn't ultimately detrimental.

The game got funded in the end, so it's a net positive, and we're about 28,000 dollars away from having around as much music in Indivisible as in FF7. Even if for some reason the project didn't make it to the anime opening stretch goal, I think things are fine as they are.

Bro your anime avatar sucks, I mean it isn't even colored in. Please come back when you get a REAL anime avatar you causal!

Anyway I really, really want the campaign to get to $1,900,000... But 300,000 in two days. Not impossible so I hoping really hard.

I'm just... amazed the petition mentions "brown people" like that's... bad. WTF.

Doesn't have to, though, because the campaign will be left open for a while after and that will go towards stretch goals.

Yes! (I'm assuming this is indiegogo only?) Hopefully they will so we can all benefit from the Mystery Anime Studio + Titmouse (heh) Animation opening!

Is the time period after like a week or two?

Can't wait to hear what the other stretch goals are. I'd love to have multiple endings implemented - even more so than I'd like an fully animated OP. (Maybe they could switch places?)

Regardless, excited!

Is MYSTERY ANIME STUDIO X still trying to stay in the shadows? Would be great to have a name attached by the time that goal is on the docket. Also, can you correct/fill out the below list?
B) So over the course of the campaign, given the character reveals I got the sense that each character had one primary person responsible for their initial concept and design and then the character was refined by input from the rest of the team. If my recollection is correct, it I were to assign an Incarnation to a member of Lab Zero it would look something like this:

o_8: Dhar, Thorani and Kushi
Kinuko: Razmi and Lanshi
EU03: Vasco
Persona: Kogi and Nuna
Brady: Kampan
Junkpuyo: Zahra and Leilani

Do I have everything right? I'm kind of curious how the other Incarnations fall in line with the person responsible for their primary concept.

Also has Lab Zero decided on the T-Shirt designs? No rush or anything but I'd love to see the design on the front. I didn't see it on the indiegogo page so I'm just wondering. :)

Real glad the game's gonna make it. I was hesitant to fund early on but picking up steam towards the end made the choice easier and I would've been sad for it not to get made.

The nerd impulse to hate on something just because it seems like a lot of people like it is as irritating as it is overwhelmingly easy to give into. I try not to do it anymore but there's still the impulse. What a shitty reflex.

I'm just saying that enemy turned ally and 'enemy has reasons to do what they do' tend to end up where they become a fallen hero of sorts and end up redeeming themselves at the end.

I'd actually be surprised if he stays bad the whole game.

Well even Valkyrie Profile had pretty much morally reprehensible people with barely any redeeming qualities become Einherjar.

While Badrach was mainly about being in difficult spot in trying times during war and resorting to theft to survive and taking high risk, high paying jobs.

Then there was people like Gandar who has no scruples to kill anyone or torture people just for the sake of power. In fact this is perhaps the only character in VP1 that was recruited because he was a powerful asset and had no bearing of personal heroic qualities, and when faced with the choice of being sent to Niflheim or working for the Gods despite his grievances, he naturally picked not being sent to Niflheim.

Then there is characters like Lezard which I don't really want to get into why they are completely disturbed on a whole different level.

So there being completely bad / evil Incarnations isn't something that is impossible, right?

Fuck. I don't have an extra $25 to shell out before the campaign ends. Fuck me.

You should be able to increase your pledge when the campaign ends via InDemand which is basically Indiegogo's slacker backer system.

Ravidrath has mentioned details on it earlier in this topic.

I brought up the Indivisible Prototype with a few people on my Steam friends list yesterday who enjoy similar sorts of games..One asked if I was being paid to advertise..

Come on guys, stop falling for that petition, it's nothing but an elaborate joke. No one actually thinks like that, that would be silly.
