inFAMOUS 2 |OT| Think Twice

So.... one more side mission and no matter how many guys I defeat, a marker still doesn't show up. Tips? Maybe I need to be somewhere else. What I'm missing is the north-western most region of the second island. In the train yard by the sea.

Takes some time, sometimes it helps doing story missions first. Or wait for the guys to respawn

Make sure you're killing them and not just downing them is my advice.

Finally got it. It took so long. I had to wait for when the game decided to let me have it. 1000th trophy, wahoo. Now on to the evil side to get the plat.

I don't get the love for Ice Launch, I never used it on my first playthrough. The truly useful traversal skill is the Lightning Tether, but you get it so late it almost feels pointless..
The Ice Launch combined with the thrusters is bliss. Ice Launch is seriously the best new power of Infamous 2.

Just got firebird strike and it might be as good as ice launch or even better, as you can realy fly as long as your charged

Can anyone tell me if Sucker Punch will ever release the E3 Cole design as a skin? ( I sort of preferred hipster boy.)

You know, the one you all hate with hair.

They did not. Personally i prefer the Cole in this game, but i would not mind to have an option to pick the other one.

Wasn't there exclusive dlc with that alternate skin? I think i saw it somewhere...
I also found out firebird strike is nowhere near as useful as ice launch, it just sucks out all my charge.

Just finished inFamous 1. Great game, but is inFamous 2 as repetitive as the first one? It seemed like I spent the majority of my time shocking things in sewers, running past spotlights, and escorting dudes to prison.

I was just wondering if there was more mission variety.

I think it's far better than the first game, also there is less repetition. That doesn't mean there is no repetition at all. It's definitely worth buying!

I just quickly watched some videos of infamous 1...I think Cole had better voice acting in the first.

I just watched one of my friends playthrough a good amount of the first and I think 2 is better. Both actors are solid, though.

whoooo~!! Platinum trophyyyyyy!! time to sell this game on ebay!!!

the best UGC was the one on top of the Cathedral called "1 of 25"

basically u start is, and there's a cone above your head, so u jump to the cone, and the mission is complete!!

with loading it only takes about 30~45 seconds, so u keep doing it 25 times and BAM platinum trophy!!!

That sounds like a lot of fun.

Finished the game and loved it, story spoiler:
Played the evil ending and people with powers live, looked at the good ending on youtube and they die. It's pretty fair to say that the inFamous franchise dies with this game? Can't see where they can go from this and hopefully they move onto another game, the gameplay of both inFamous games are amazing so hope they stick with a superhero kind of game.
An online mode would have been mint though, something like horde mode in Gears. You and your mates played as some of the characters with powers and take on waves of enemies getting increasingly more difficult. Especially in this open world kind of enviro, would have been good. :(

Just got my Platinum too! I think both ends are kinda sad in their own way :|
Infamous is one of my favorite IP's this gen,
i hope they find a way to continue with or without cole!

Wow that negative karma ending. Spoiler alert regarding that...

I liked how Cole became the beast and am very curious if/how it will play out in the next game. Killing Zeke was brutal as well. I felt all sorts of emotions about that. Yeah I was a selfish bad ass killing pedestrians, but to kill your friend? That's fucked up. And Nix too. I guess yeah Zeke betrayed you in the first game. But still. Also, it was insane to really feel evil at the end, choosing to perpetuate the conduits and screw everyone else.

Well, I just went to the Sucker Punch forums to see if they would ever release the E3 2010 Cole as a skin.

Surprisingly they locked every thread/petition asking for it. Weird, considering they can make some money with that.

believe me, there is NOTHING fun about the UGC stuff.

I did it for the achievement, and the less of it I do the better.
Some of the ring races were alright, but yeah, it was all a chore when getting the UGC trophies. Most of the ones I played mad me angry how anti-fun they were. Not a fan of having to read as well, since there is no voice acting in any of it.

It dilutes their brand. They want to forget about that look as much as possible.

It was one hell of an appealing character design though

What a boss.

He looks like Generic McDudebro to me

I never really cared for Cole's design, but I did want it to stay consistent through the series. If you have changed a character who you're pretending is the same person from the previous game and have not given any explanation why he looks completely different, then you have messed up.

Ok i'm still going through the game now, at mission 18 I think. I read somewhere that you won't get enough XP to buy all skills by the end of the game. Is that true? So far, it seems like I can afford all skills that become available with XP to spare. I'm playing a good character if that matters.

Yep that was always the problem. Nothing is wrong with some changes but they went too far.

I played through on normal and could afford all the karma and other ones that are unlocked.

I did all the side missions though, and only a handful of UGC missions.

Playing through on Hard now and you get less XP for actions.

Fuzzy

I would bang a hot farmer!

I had no problem at all during either of my Good/Normal or Evil/Hard runs.

Eh, I still wouldn't mind it as an option nonetheless. They can keep the bald design for continuity, but a basic skin can't be that bad.

Is not like the assets for the character model were not already made.

OK, between this comment and the entire Mass Effect 3 thread, I'm convinced every non-anime male character is a dudebro.

ME3 James Vega - Overly muscular, mohawk, bland apparel

Old IF2 Cole - Slender build, common hairstyle, unique apparel

Yet both are "dudebros".

Fucking hell.

I have to agree. Cole's design is terribly generic and is one of the blemishes on the game. I could see what they were going for here, what with the whole average joe with super powers thing. But if they wanted an average joe, they should have done it like Uncharted and at least make him somewhat charismatic and pleasant-looking. Even his T shirt is generic and ugly, FFS. And that ridiculous electric rod makes things even worse. Thank god for the samurai sword skin.

There is a glitch that lets you buy your abilities for free:
You have to start a new empty ugc level and press x and then start playing that empty level from begining. All you have to do now is open your power menu and buy all abilities you want for free. Of course you have to unlock them first! Quit the editior and play the game.

It helped me alot on hard mode and
when you finish the game the second time around you unlock ALL abilities! I was so happy getting ice launch as bad cole :p

Speaking of characters, I thought inFamous 2 was a huge step over the original. I hated pretty much everyone (Cole included) in the original game, now the main characters were well written and acted, there were some nice moments between Cole and Zeke for example. Nix and Bertrand at first I thought were awful, but even then they kind of redeemed themselves throughout the game.

Yeah, I thought the story was weaker, but I actually liked Zeke this time.

I have a feeling the game could have made me care about Nyx and Kuo if they were in the game more.

What a boss.

I kind of thought he was sexy. Just sayin

Realistically though I don't see him fitting in the story line, especially with negative karma. I think the Cole in Inf2 looks pretty bad ass.

Not even. The best one was you just watch people just fall over, and it finishes in a few seconds.

It was surprising to say the least.

Has been asked a couple of times in this thread.

My answer: yes, you can play it, you will taught all of the basics at the beginning. You will learn some spoilers regarding the first game.

HA! I did like one more mission when I got home and rockets unlocked.

This game is a very good game. I like that when random dudes start pelting me I go easy on them, just bolting them and trying to be precise. But then it gets more serious and they are hurting me. I get angry. Then shit starts to fly and innocent people end up in a twister. Picking up a car with a person in it, that's some kind of terrible super hero if you ask me. I'm a terrible super hero. Still this is a very good game.

So I just downloaded this from a friend's PSN. Anyone know if it's shareable or have that 24 hour lock bs on it? If so, I'll just wait till he's completely done with it.

How funny, I came on to ask the same part. It won't trigger the final mission for me either...
I wonder if the dudes that I kill have to stay out of the water to pick up the mission from their bruised/dead corpse.

I think that there is more mission variety= a plus in my book, but the bosses for me are suckier and not as plentiful= a minus in my book. I miss the sewers in the second, and I think I wouldn't have if they would have fleshed out the swamp areas better and made them darker like the concept art suggested.

Well I'll definitely be picking up inFamous 2 now.

Does your karma/decisions carry over to the second game? I played through the first game as a good guy and I think I want to try playing through the second game as a bastard.
