Industry Insider "NateTheHate2" claims more Sony games are coming to Xbox

Should have left it at that.

Good. I will stick with PC even more. Sony will sell the "PS6" for casual Fifa players next gen...again... and it will get even worse for them, because gaming market is changing so fucking fast every year... also... AI... their number 1 enemy, if you know you know

Games barely sell on the Xbox, so why is Sony even bothering? Data/pass history says this makes no sense(if true). This goes for Helldiver's 2 as well.

Yeah, this decision is truly puzzling. What Sony has to be trying is to snatch those 15 to 20 million Xbox users to PlayStation and they should be investing billions on making the PS Store as good if not better than steam.

They do not need to "snatch" anything Xbox players have been moving over to either PC or PlayStation since the Xbox series S/X's decline. Especially with Xbox games coming to PlayStation and selling 1.5 million units.

Wasting resources on ports and hoping and praying that Xbox players will suddenly see the light and start buying games as a reasonable rate is foolish but what do I know huh. Data and history seems to mean nothing, come August when Helldivers 2 launches we will see.

"These games barely sell on Xbox" What games? You mean the ones that aren't on there?

And you are a complete fool if you think a global icon like spidey won't sell. It would sell AT LEAST 3 - 5 mill before year ends
Spiderman 2 couldnt even do 3-5 mil on Steam yet somehow you think a less than 30m platform is going to sell that much?

I didn't say need. but trying. like making bundles/marketing actual Xbox Studios games.

Not only on Xbox, but also on Steam, we've seen a decrease in interest for Sony games. What's next for Sony in their chase for the most effective return on investment? Day-one releases.

it's sorta funny that Sony is wasting its time with xbox ports given the next xbox will likely be a pc hybird/have Steam, meaning it can already play the PC port version

this is why games being ported to PC are basically already being ported to xbox. most people think the next xbox is a hybrid console anyways

I have no idea what Sony is doing

Makes more sense if next gen Xbox really is a console like HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4 and K KeplerL2 have been saying though, don't it?

I haven't been following what they've beens saying

are they arguing it will just be a traditional console like the xsx?

it isn't immediately clear to me if MS even knows what they're doing next gen, so who knows

reading the tea leaves, I do think MS will definitely be the first to go console/hybrid route

dunno if it will be next gen via their main console or even how many SKUs they will have next gen

Yeah, they have been pretty adamant about it. Time will tell

yup! fwiw I've pretty much held off on investing further in my xsx beyond gamepass as I don't have a ton of confidence that they know what they're doing

I do think a hybrid console with Steam has the potential to be huge though. assuming MS doesn't fuck it up when it comes to actually delivering, and I'd say there is a huge chance they can fuck it up. but if they get it down right, I think it has a ton of potential.

especially if they can be the ones to finally remove the "hassle" from PC gaming. I think Steam may be trying to do the same thing (gaming PC with the form factor and convenience of a console), and I predict Steam/MS will be in competition

Any game that has an online component is probably first on the list.

A game like Demons Souls, I can see be announced for both PC and Xbox at the same time.

People are want that job listing to include AAA singleplayer games so bad, but its not going to happen. People are just letting their imaginations run wild over what Sony said when they reiterated that they are going to focus on their own hardware and scale back their ports when it comes to PC.

Be happy yall got Helldivers 2. If anything, expect more live service games, which were already planned for more platforms in the past. In the mean time, Microsofts needs to hurry up with that port of Flight Simulator. Valve need to go ahead and port that Half Life Alyx to PSVR2, Nintendo need to go and get their heads checked for charging $80 for last gen games.

If it's true they only plan to port the online-only GAAS slop, the what does Sony have left? Fairgamez, Gummy Bears, the Horizon thing… anything else?

Marathon and Helldivers II are already announced for Xbox. No Switch versions though.

That's another thing. GAAS slop doesn't really make sense for the Switch so what are their plans for that?

There are few million users on any platform that don't buy another system for a couple of games, the games could sell a couple of millions more across Switch 2 and Xbox Series.
They don't even buy games on their own system.

It will make more sense pretty soon
Sony is utilizing a strategy based on what they know about Xboxs future? Because right now it just looks like they're chasimg Xbox to the bottom. PS6 is not even going to sell at $600-800 with no defining software.

If I'm being very charitable and only considering GAAS, Marvel Tokon is 100% a lock at this point, and probably Fairgames too. Lord knows that game will probably need toaster ovens as platforms to have a chance.

But, this is modern SIE, and I'm not putting anything past them these days same as with Microsoft. So we can include non-GAAS in this too. On that note, probably the Spiderman games to start with and also TLOU (they had that Xbox Store page which has since been hidden). Probably wouldn't be surprised about GT7 too (alongside the PC version that was in the old Nvidia leak) since Forza Motorsport is now basically dead and SIE feels they can probably fill a vacuum on Xbox in that genre space.

Beyond that, who knows. I'm just saying I won't be surprised. Honestly I'm just mellow about it all at this point; I feel nothing for Xbox or PlayStation as console platforms from a "gaming culture" POV, because there is little unique unto them anymore. Maybe also why I've been feeling less motivated to post TBH.

So it is what it is 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, smaller scale games like that make more sense but the 2.5D GoW hasn't even been announced yet.

Gravity Rush would make a lot of sense. I see Sony dumping that on Bandai Namco though.

Just seems kinda pointless if they plan to be picky about what they port. Pickings are pretty slim outside of the major stuff like Horizon and Uncharted.

well that's because they're likely not going to be picky. that is just some narrative a select few on this forum are pushing as a cope.

They are coping hard but not as silly as people saying Sony are Apple and this will be great for them. They will lose console sells with PS6 and end up selling the same software.

Flight Simulator is super niche. No chance they're porting that to PS5.

Lose console sales to who? You think people that care about Naughty Dog are going to settle for a late, inferior port on Switch? No chance.

More info here.

This threads always amuse me. People dreaming of God of War but in reality they will (not) play Marathon instead.

Also, whole thread is based on clickbait, basically.

When are some of you going to figure out that these companies only care about one thing and that's making money.

Sony and Microsoft aren't worried about some console war like people are here, that time has long passed. Neither is going anywhere unless they want to bow out.

I'd probably buy the next 10 PS games that hit Xbox just to support it, and I'd hope other Xbox owners do too.

I bought Death Stranding: Director's Cut the day it dropped on Xbox and I've already pre-ordered Helldivers. Skipped MLB because it was on Game Pass and I didn't love it when I tried it.

I'd be ecstatic to get Spider-Man or Astro. Even better if they rerelease older stuff like Tokyo Jungle, InFamous or LittleBigPlanet

If they give me gran turismo I'll buy DLC by the boatload for it. Especially with forza motorsport out of the equation. I need a new sim-Cade going forward. I'd love to return to GT. haven't played it since PS2 days but GT7 does look glorious. My Xbox is ready!

Sadie up Sony ponies and write another letter.
Try and try until you succeed, until Sony are annoyed, pressured and threaten. 😆

Nintendo is laughing. Nintendo is printing money by continues support for full exclusives and care for there fanbase and console owners. While Sony is just plain stupid to fallen to xbox trap and risk console sales and losing big fanbase. Funny thing is Sony will port games on the losing side which throughout history PS exclusives ports to xbox does not sell big. Xbox lost the war in console sales and most xbox gamers are trained not to buy games but rely heavily on gamepass. Its like xbox is saying if they are going down, they will also drag others down and the stupid victim is Sony while Nintendo is wise not to fall to xbox trap of abandoning full exclusivity. 😆

I think they'll try to keep the timed exclusives to a 6-month minimum window. I mean they gotta get theirs first right? But then they lose out on some of that new game hype...hmm. 3 months?
