"Insider" RalphsValve teasing GTA IV remaster for 2023

For GTA VI, More than anything I would love to R* surpass what they did with the physics engine in GTA IV.
That and more clever AI.

The setting and characters are wonderful, but IMO that emergent gameplay during free room is GTA.
GTA V was fun for what it was, but in many ways, I found it to be a step back from the mechanics in GTA IV.
I loved nothing more than pushing NPCs down steep staircases just to watch the physics engine at work.

The only GTA where I actually cared about the story

and the driving was so choice

I remember on launch day I was playing this bit where you had to walk down a large amount of steps with an NPC and I just couldn't stop jumping into the back of the NPC and making us both tumble down the stairs, often to our deaths but at least failing the mission each time.

Everyone laughed at first but I just couldn't stop doing it because it was so funny (and I may have been extremely high and loaded with sugar) and not long after that we switched from "a mission each" to "a life each", must've been a coincidence :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Normally I hate when people are annoying like that, spoiling everyone elses fun by doing something over and over after its stopped being funny, but I was posessed by some sort of Euphoria physics engine demon haha.

With the original trilogy now being brought to a modern audience with a souped-up presentation, and Grand Theft Auto 5 still being Rockstar's cash machine, thanks to hundreds of thousands of fans logging onto its online component on an almost-regular basis - 2008's Grand Theft Auto 4 now sticks out like a sore thumb due in today's gaming landscape, specially given how many fans consider it as one of the better entries in the franchise.

Given the demand, it's shocking that Grand Theft Auto 4 is yet to receive any remaster, and as such should be the next game to receive a similar treatment.
