Invincible Official Trailer - Amazon Prime animation based on Robert Kirkman's comic

The amount of gore in this is a bit weird with the way the rest of the plot comes off like it’s one of the old dc cartoons or a CW drama. Im not complaining and get that it’s intentional. Im guessing it’s going to justify itself later but right now it’s like if Marvel had the gore of a Takashi Miike film

They... did not? He's still a redheaded caucasian dude, just like olive complexion. White people aren't all the same exact shade.

Brown is not olive skin dude. I have never seen a white person with skin that dark that didn't have a terrible spray tan.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, he could easily be any race with dark skin besides a black person.

Started watching it today and found the animation to be shit, which is why I was avoiding it for the longest time. Have heard a lot of good about the show so will keep watching look past the bad quality.

I assumed he is hispanic/medditerranean or something like that. He is clearly much lighter in complexion than the definitely black characters (Amber, Titan, sampson guy). Does it matter? What was he in the comics?
He was a white guy.

I don't think he's latino, they kept his red hair. I think he's just a dark skinned white dude.

His actor is greek so maybe they shifted him a few shades to match?

I'm definitely really enjoying the show as well. There's almost a simple King of the Hill quality to the characters. They're not immediately interesting but they grow on you.

I'm hooked into the main plot. The subplots have been just okay. But looking forward to this every week

The animators start flexing their skills more when the more important fight scenes occur. That's all I can say without spoiling.

Yeah, the animation quality is distracting to say the least. For instance, for the majority of the show Atom Eve's logo appears as ♀ with an X crossed through it, so I thought she was some weird feminist at first. But in a handful of scenes, her symbol appears correctly (it's not an X - it's supposed to be rings wrapped around the ♀ like an Atom). If I had to guess, I'd say the animation might be a victim of Covid... because that's one of your main characters - imagine if Batman had a fucked up Bat on his chest in the majority of scenes of a Justice League show lol

Hopefully it's popular enough to get a bigger budget for season two and they can improve on it. I noticed that too though with Atom Eve. It wasn't until this last episode that i saw it was rings instead of an x.

I hope this series does well. I have read the comics through the end, and there are some incredible fights I want to see animated. Invincible vs. C. will be amazing based on what they have done so far (fight wise). Most of the general animation is poor-passable.

This show is awesome, my only problem is that Amber is insufferable and I doesn't seem worth the effort Mark puts in lol
Definitely. Having a character go out with the "wrong" person to draw out the obvious pairing (Atom Eve) is a common trope, but Amber sucks as even that.
I think this season would be an excellent troll if we DIDN'T fine out why.
I don't know anything about the comics or future eps, but the reason for the Omni-Man turn has seemed pretty obvious for a while now so i'm not too worried about them laying it out this season.

Now I feel dumb..... I have no clue why he murdered everyone.

Episode 7 was bonkers. Wow. This show escalates and only gets better as it goes on.

Invincible is the BEST Superhero media we've had in a while.

Totally loving the show. Every episode does enough with the carrot on the hook while building the characters JUST enough to be satisfactory. Would love to see more of Rex. He is my favorite character of the show and voiced by one of my favorite goofy actors. Granted, Rex does actually get quite a bit of screen time.
Alright so the whole time I was thinking that Robot was actually reviving the Guardians of the Globe. Turns out that it was really just the Mauler clones actually reviving the Immortal. Which I was kinda hoping for more than just full blind rage into a fight but it did make an interesting scene. Also goes to show how strong Hail Mary is. My goodness, Omni-man can immediately cancel out Immortal when he gets serious but he struggled and ultimately would've lost round 2 against Hail Mary.
Can't wait for the season ending. Hopefully this is better than The Boys s1 ending with Homelander etc etc.

The problem for me is omni-man doesn't have a kryptonite. Why hasn't this guy made earth his bitch? It seems like he has few to no weaknesses, even cthulhu just busts his lip at best. I don't think he is cunning or strategic, he just punches infinitely hard and can't be hurt.

Amber is totally broken at this point. She had better be A. a secret vilforgian or whatever the fuck Omni-man and Mark are or B. that Martian astronaut refugee in disguise (and the real amber is dead in a ditch somewhere) because otherwise her character makes no sense.

Still, it's a fun watch.

Can't believe I missed seeing a thread on this. Anyways this is easily the best superhero series out rn. And yeah, Amber is probably the weakest thing about the show. But other than that it's terrific.

Ok gave it a chance based on the good comments here and it's pretty fun.
I enjoy the rather fast pacing, and the central conflict is pretty interesting.I just wish the show had like 80% more Omni man and 80% less teenage dating drama.

I think having no obvious weakness is what makes characters like Omni Man or Homelander (from the Boys) work. They need to feel like some form of unstoppable force.

He also doesn't feel quite as crazy OP as Superman/Homelander.
The tentacle monster actually seemed to be giving him a run for his money.

You nee to watch more Netflix Original Animated stuff like Dragon prince and Blood of Zeus.
Once you've watched enough 3fps animations, things like Invisible actually start to look alright.

I dunno, it's hard to know how hurt omni man gets because 3 little robosoldiers seem like they hurt him as bad as cthulhu but that just doesnt make sense. Mark takes a dozen bone crushing punches to the face but aside from battle cat nothing seemed like it was more than a mild bruise the day after. Why do the invisosoldiers even bother shooting omniman?

Anyway, I'm gonna guess omniman will eventually try to take over the earth because that's what his race does once some breeding capacity is established (I feel like Mark having powers set it all off).

If Robot wasn't so distracted and infatuated with Goblin Girl, he probably could have told the government that Battle Beast is for hire.

It gotta be on purpose. How hard can it be to get the symbol right? It's not like it takes more frames to do so or adds massive complexity to the image.

Never read the comics. I thought Battle Beast was just some low level bad guy who would get wrecked in seconds...........how wrong I was.

Beast indeed. Hopefully we'll see a more of that bad ass.

Damn that finale was brutal. Leaves me very excited for the future of the series, however...

Disappointed to see Amber back in the fold again so soon. Seems fairly obvious Mark will end up with Eve so this just continues to delay the inevitable

After watching that finale I feel more like Viltrumites are Saiyans in more ways than I thought.

And by saying that...

I'm a little scared that Omni-Man was the equivalent of Raditz and he's literally going back to his home planet to stop the show's equivalent of Vegeta and Nappa, or worse, a Frieza level-enemy, from finishing the job he was supposed to do in the first place. Mark is going to need a fuck-ton of zenkai boosts to be ready next time.

I think the high school drama has maybe half a season left in the tank before it truly stops mattering anymore. Which is why I've damn near stopped caring about character relationships and your spoiler anymore.

Good season. Just lots of stuff left open for next season. Omni Man can't end his son, his son won't join him, this is an impasse and something has to change. SO maybe OM goes back to his home planet and defies them. The montage at the end was great.

Jesus. That final episode. I've read the comics a bit past that point but seeing it animated really helps bring it to life.

I'm hoping we get the whole run animated.

I haven't read the comics. How many seasons can be squeezed out of this? I'm hoping for a good 4 to 5 and not 10+ like Walking Dead.

Damn that beginning of the episode. Holy shit. Levels of Man of Steel destruction, but more direct and purposeful.
Still don't like Amber coming back
but what a good first season. I can imagine this going for 7-8 seasons considering how long the comic is.

Comic spoiler

They will break up for good in a short while and she ends up with an abusive guy for a while.

Awesome last episode. Brutal, violent. I was cutting onions, for a tomato sauce, at the father & son talk.

Wasn't a fan of the music choices throughout the series, but Episode 8 had some great stuff.
Haven't read the comics, but knew Omni-Man was a lying POS. Who knows maybe a change of heart later down the road?
Also don't care the for the Amber x Mark relationship again. Don't think it will last but meh.

Excited for S 2 + 3. Hopefully the animation budget gets a bump. The actors do very well, but sometimes the animation betrays the emotion trying to be conveyed.

Damn.

Kneel before Omni-Man. He's like a vengeful God on a rampage. How am I still a fan of him?

How the fuck are they going pull that off after what happened in episode 8?!

Honestly no idea, the fight between Mark and his Dad was far worse in the show there was no train scene or anything like it in the comic it was just a few pages and not all that much happened. They might just go down a different route with him the show allrdy changed so much stuff from the comics anyway.

Definitely wrapped up the first season on a high note, intense episode. Glad to get confirmation that we're getting more seasons.
Your post made me search for this confirmation. Feels good.
As I read the comics over the years, I always hoped it would be adapted into something else and expanded. I am looking forward to what is to come.

Decided to wait until this was done and watch in all over two days, but damn we ended up finishing it off over one long night. Glad to hear it's already renewed for a few more seasons.
