Did Warhammer Quest ever get updated?

I haven't bothered trying it again since it kept bugging/crashing for me...

Still waiting for approval as far as I know.

I just completed it for the third time in a row (both black dungeons with the same stash too :p)....still looking for the Hammer of Sigmar (but I found a wonderful wizard staff with a cool red gem).
Level 4 hardcore game going on too...but mostly waiting for a (hopefully much harder) expansion now.

I realized that now I completed all my backlog (grinding towards last chants in Scurvy Scallways) and my wish/to buy list is really really thin, even including vaporware games.

I'll include here my personal to buy list, hoping others do the same and finding inspiration for new games...(yes I'm bored)

Tiny Thief (Trailer now published by Rovio, no less)

The Cave (out in summer, Trailer)

Space Hulk (Autumn, PC gameplay)
Possibly other Warhammer Games (like the announced Siltherine one).

Out There (can't be soon enough, Trailer, More infos)

Transistor (from Bastion awesome devs, Reveal trailer)

The Witness (iPad trailer)

Galactic Keep (hoping it will see the light at the end of the tunnel someday, Gameplay)

Below (by Capybara, hoping to see it on iOS, Trailer)

Shadorun returns (Alpha trailer)

FTL (I gave up on this one)

EDIT:forgot to add Shadorun Returns

Is there any way to track sales on IAPs? I am thinking of picking up Magic 2013 but I was womdering it has ever gone on sale before.

I really didn't like Scalawags, it felt too slow, all you seem to do is try to match swords to build up power, slowly move your way to an enemy to fight him, then redo the same process since one fight decreases your power greatly. Not my kind of game, sadly i bought it for $2 before it went free.

Well, shit. Agricola's out. How did I miss that... I was out of the country six weeks then spent the past week reaccumulating myself and watching too much E3 I guess. Time to try this out as someone who's never played Agricola before.

Looks like Clash of Heroes updated and the game is now a much smaller install (657MB down from 2GB). Plus that stupid Touch to Continue screen is gone.

Wait for Magic 2014. It'll be out in the next few weeks.

"Magic 2014 is launching on Steam on the 26th, and while Wizards isn't into the idea of committing to iOS release dates, they hope to have it available for download on all platforms around the same time."

Oh fuck me and my idea of playing a game or two of lost cities after a drink.
Begining a line with a ten and placing the wrong multiplier in another column, this will be epic.

I *LOVE* Lost Cities.

IMHO it's the best async game ever...fast, you can see the situation at a glance (so multiple games are ok, no 'review' necessary) and the luck factor keeps everything always interesting.
Plus...the iOS version is simply fantastic (even tough I wish for proper chat as in Carcassonne instead of the icons).

Bought that damn pirate game last week. Still grinding it out. Not nearly as much fun after the first few hours.

My girlfriend and I both grabbed it last night when free. As charming as it is, we both just couldn't get into it unfortunately. We both got a little confused by the playfield movement.

Yeah from a features and execution standpoint Carc is still the king. Unfortunate that Coding Monkeys regressed in terms of that stuff for Lost Cities (still a great game).

I wonder in which way all that is linked to the game being by Kinzia. I read some time ago a poster? writer? on boardgamegeek ios saying that he didn't personnally like knizia's games because they are often too much on the mathematical side. But then I wonder if it isn't due to that preference that Lost Cities is a so perfect ios adaptation.
No extra turn, no fluff, strategy limited but not stupid in any way, it is perfect for an asynch game.

If you're into RPGs I HIGHLY suggest picking up Aurum Blade from the app store. It's plays very similar to the Zenonia series but isn't as grindy or overly difficult, forcing you purchase in-app items which is why I love this game so much. The story is your typical "lone hero out to save the world from plunging into darkness" JRPG fare and I'll admit that the writing is mediocre but for some reason the game keeps drawing me into the world it has established. AB originally came out in 2011 for $0.99 but is free now so why not give it a try?

Yes I am aware of that. But I wouldn't mind picking up the old one since the decks are different anyway. Just wondering whether there is an easy way to track when IAPs go on sale.

The playfield movement confused the hell out of me too initially, but it's actually a really cool gameplay mechanic once you figure it out.

The problem is once you reach more difficult stages, it goes from taking a minute or two to beat a level to five or ten, and the rewards drop off. Pacing just doesn't work.

On top of that, the game rewards you with clothing in a completely random manner, so I got a +10 HP jacket an hour into the game and haven't gotten anything that good since.

It has the opportunity to be a really cool game - they just need to balance out the pacing.

Yeah as soon as you hit level 15-20 the game becomes really difficult because of super high damage enemies.

You can mitigate this a bit with the various skills (I load myself with gold->swords, items->gold, pistol, get all swords skills plus I almost always use the 'reduce enemies HP' boat) but yeah, pacing is a bit off.
Still it's a nice time waster imho....I'm still having fun.

They could remove a lot of normal enemies...maybe adding more bosses and modify the pacing a bit.
Islands should have less locations too....expecially after level 18.

Ahhh, not that I'm aware of. If there is I'd like to hear about it too. I know I've missed a sale on The Walking Dead episodes because its not a part of price tracking in the app I use.

To be honest the only thing I miss it's the proper chat, for everything else it's the perfect game....super super fast (even faster than Carcassonne).

It is.
I'm late to the party with Lost Cities, having regretted it for much too long mostly due to not being universal (ironically when at home I always play it on iPad) but I'm really loving it after having spent years on Ascension, Nighfall, Carcassonne and the like.
Since some time I can't bear anymore async game that force you to 'review' previous moves to play effectively (that's why I can't play Agricola)...I love games that gives you the situation at a glance.
Lost Cities and Battle of the Bulge being the top ones in this respect imho.

It really helps that Lost Cities is stellar on iOS imho...from graphics to features to music to speed to...everything.

Lost Cities is excellent and well worth grabbing, even on iPad in 2x mode.

Sorry for declining you invites Li Kao, but I'm just burnt out on it after what's probably been hundreds of games. Down for Carc games, though!

I'm level 22 and the problem is the matches are very exciting anymore nor do I get any worthwhile loot. I never get attacked until I want to because I've gotten too accustomed/good with board movement, which means I spend 10 minutes building up my attack until I know for certain I have enough attack points to defeat all enemies. Here's the really annoying thing. Let's say there are 4 enemies that have 25 attack damage each. So I'll of course spend my time getting up to 100 attack points. But then I'll attack the first one and my character will execute a critical or dodge, and I'll only lose a couple attack points. This means I didn't need to build up to 100 at all, yet I still do every time since you never know if you'll hit a critical or dodge. So I spend half of my time playing a level knowing that I'm building up attack points I probably won't need. But you can't risk not doing that, because it takes AGES to get back a single heart (let alone two or more).

And yeah, the other problem is the loot is no longer worthwhile, and at 22, I'm now reaching the point where I can't upgrade worthwhile skills unless I play 10 levels or more in a row.

It's too bad, because again there's some really cool variety in the actual gameplay. But it's gotten to the point where I'm never ever in danger due to my play style.

.

The best skill combo I have found is Gold > Swords and then All Swords = Attack (looks like a purple cloud). It converts every sword symbol into an attack point. The cooldown isn't too bad, either.

Using them will bump you up to 70-80 attack right off the bat.

Scallywags is broken on iOS 7 sadly, while iCloud saves still work as advertised, you don't retain your skills/stats when you die anymore. Makes trying to progress in the game moot. Shelving this one for now.

Thought Emoji Movie was good. Take that as you will.
Anyone else playing 9th Dawn?

I want to know if it's a smoother experience on a 5 than a 4. It suffers from shitty controls, but it's a pretty huge game.. and I'm having fun.. but it stutters a lot.

Man, the posts in the XCOM announce thread on gaf are soooo bizarre. Amazing how demented people act re iOS.

Buttons come with premium pricing, rite?

So, it is coming to iPhone as well? The article lists both platforms and says it will be universal. I don't give a shit about the graphics, if it plays roughly the same on my phone as it did on PC I have no problem dropping $20. It's a great game but my PC took a shit before I could get my fill of it.

Yeah it's universal with iCloud save support.

Yup, they say all iOS games must be $1 games, but then also complain about how all iOS has are shitty little $1 casual games and not REAL games.

Then iOS gets a 'real' game priced accordingly and they freak out..

Overall I like Scurvy Scallywags. I like the mechanic of new tiles sliding in the way you swipe, the pirate theme is great, and adding in character building elements is always an easy way to hook me:)

Though as you said the whole crit/dodge mechanic is useless. You can't rely on it at all. Going into a battle you're not 100% guaranteed to win is a dumb move because losing even one heart is way too costly. Also, I'm only at level 15 and I can feel the game already starting to slow way down. Battles take too long and building my character expensive for small payoffs (5% less heath? wow, thanks). Well, the game was great the first couple hours at least.

Its amazing. Just remember, these are the people who want mobile gaming to fail, so of course they will bock at the price. But to be honest, who really cares? If the game was 0.99 cents they would not buy it either.

I wonder what the "recent hit" Justin was talking about was, he said it was "weeks" away and as yet unannounced iirc. We know the classic was KOTR ofc.

I reckon it'll get a lot worse in the not-too-distant future. People will lose their minds if higher pricepoints catch on and the controller receives any decent degree of support.

I'm just waiting for the day that a high profile exclusive from a well loved franchise hits iOS. That'll be something to watch.

Scallywags is losing me. I can't stop playing it, but I'm bored to tears by it at this point (level 23.5, just finished the first island in the fire world). Each match takes way too long now, getting the necessary components to build the ships is a fucking CHORE (for the entire ice world, I needed one toilet to build the boat that gives you a reduced 20% cooldown, and I did not get it until the last monster I defeated in the last battle of the first island of the fire world), and it just gets to be really easy once you figure out how to manipulate the board properly. If you lose a heart, it's your own fault for making a bad move. There's just no reward in the game anymore, especially because I've collected nearly every character item there is in the game (I think I'm only missing maybe five pieces). I want to stop, but I've invested so much time into it at this point that I don't want to just give up on it. The game just needs some serious variety to it, because, as it is right now, it's actually incredibly shallow.

For reference, my load out: free move, the gold gathering shanty skill, blunderbuss, leap skill (move 4 spaces away), and jump to quest item. I switch out the gold and quest item skill for boss battles and replace them with gold>swords and the 50% bonus attack skill. Works quite well for me.

Was about to say this. Eidos/Ubisoft are pretty big. :p (those are the devs/pubs right...)

If I remember correctly it was developed by a European studio (makers of Airmail), under supervision of Eidos. Also, it's published by square enix, not ubisoft.
