I don't post often and can't search so I'm posting now to test my icon.

Mine wasn't originally posted as having problems, but I changed it to fit anyway. I guess I could rotate it to portrait style too. Maybe I should change back to the orange color since MM9 has been out for awhile anyway. Too bad I don't currently have a good image editor on this Linux box.

It's when people use an avatar that is 70x110, which in theory is within the limits, except 70 is not 90. So, it increases the avatar by a ratio that makes that 70x110 avatar to 90x130. That is too big.

Thought 83x119 was save. Filled up the boarders and now it is 90px x120px (says firefox).

That is where people get tripped up. If your avatar is 100x100, the forum resizes it down to 90x90, which is fine. It's when people use an avatar that is 70x110, which in theory is within the limits, except 70 is not 90. So, it increases the avatar by a ratio that makes that 70x110 avatar to 90x130. That is too big.

All you need to do to be safe is make whatever avatar you are using be 90 pixels across first, then 120 or under. Resize it to 90, and whatever the paint program you use will ratio the avatar to be however much bigger. If the vertical number is over 120 after making the horizontal one 90, cut off however many pixels you need to.

Clear? If not, post the original image and one of us can fix it. Otherwise, you can add 10 blank pixels to the side of your avy in gimp and it'll be fine.

EDIT: Cheap 3 second changes ahead. :lol

Hey Red Scarlet and gaf, I was wondering if my avatar was safe. Although it is fnot from the new wave of juniors I have had this avatar since I joined gaf. I originally used an avatar from a fellow member who had not gotten the same logo as mine, but I am currently using this one and I would love to not have a text based avatar please. If its possible it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The one you're using is way too large. Change it to an avatar that's 90x120.

I resized your original image to correct proportions.

If you're allowed to use your avatar again, that is sized properly.

Current one is 84px × 120px (scaled to 90px × 129px) Swap to one of the fixed ones.
