Yeah like others have said, he nowhere states that upcoming Star Wars films are going to have gay characters, just that it's possible and that obviously gay characters exist in the universe. Star Wars is pretty sexless as a whole. There are like three non-sibling kisses in seven films. If there is a gay character in the film, it will probably be fairly subtle or downplayed.

Yeah, less "they are coming" and more "they're already here".

Moff Mors is the first officially gay Star Wars character. Debuted in the April 2015 novel Lords of the Sith.

But having one on screen would be great.

I'm still hoping that Poe is gay. But we'll see.

Poe is my favorite new character. He's awesome.

However, thread title is misleading; JJ says he sees them coming, not that they are coming.

I guess it's going to make the Galaxy a safer place to live. I also expect the intellectual property value to go up.

Sorry, just listened to Bill Burr's latest podcast.

you can't put a price on sparks
do the "humans" have normal sex organs? or do they have some sort of transparent goo that they exchange via receptacle

Out of the cast revealed so far I see Poe being the likely candidate IF they explore that in the films. Finn I don't think so much simply because there is little basis. He clearly shows an attraction to Rey. Rey could be gay for all we know.

I'm balls in for Poe.

Although I'm not really sure Abrams made a hard confirmation here. I know he read the script for Episode 8, but it reads like wishful thinking or "the possibilities are endless."

Yea he really didn't. As stated he just say they are in the universe and he'd love to see it. As other said it's something in the novels already. Still would be cool to see on the big screen.

Idk Oscar Isaac is a pretty big Evangelical Christian.

It would be amazing and I'd love the movie 100x more if they did it, but I can see him not being comfortable doing it.

It's gonna be a minor minor bit character if anybody, anyway. A gay lead in a AAAAAAA franchise just ain't happening.

Didnt Oscar already say thats how he is playing Poe(xFinn) even though it's not stated anywhere, or was that Boyega saying that?

It better be Poe.

Sad to see this franchise become a PC mouthpiece. :((( First we have to believe black people and women can be heroes, and now they're going to try to tell us that gay people exist in the Star Wars universe. :((((((((((((((

George Lucas isn't dead, so he can't be rolling in his grave, but I know he's rich enough to buy a tilt-a-whirl. He's probably whirling and twirling in grief for his beloved creation as we speak.
I think Lucas is more of a scrambler type of guy.

In pre-release interviews, Oscar Issac said his character has a romantic partner. Or rather, that he was playing his character toward a romantic interest. He couldn't say who at the time though.

Edit: beaten again.
