Looked through some old Puroresu reviews and started checking out Japan's women wrestling at Stardom.

Holy Shit does Kairi Hojo have the best elbow drop ever.

I'm hoping I'm getting the names right. I don't know these wrestlers and they change outfits a lot. I also enjoyed the Sendai Sachiko and Io Shirai stuff I found.

If Stardom had its own version of NJPWorld I'd subscribe in an instant. Same with Dragongate and Big Japan. I'm just too lazy to look for their stuff.

People are overstating how necessary it is for fans to "know a performer" beforehand. It's only ever about how they are presented, and if you can't find a way to present a guy like Nakamura as a big deal then you should just quit the business and take up spirographs.

Exactly... he just needs to be hyped up as a big star before he debuts (with press conference, vignettes, Bryan talking about he may be the best wrestler in the world, etc.), then present him and book him like a big star once he finally shows up.

I'm up to the main event of the NOAH show from this month.

Kenoh vs Ishimori is going to be a hell of a match when it happens. If Kenoh does get the Jrs. Belt NJPW should bring in Ishimori in as a challenger to KUSHIDA, it'd be a great match up. Shelton is consistently great. TAKA is very entertaining and has a unique style. Taichi does the whole heel interference weapon shots shtick very well.

Still very excited to see where NOAH goes in the next while. As sad as it is to say, AJPW folding would be good, just to get more talent in a few promotions. Data posted that dire attendance for the W-1 show but they always look very small no matter where they run so I guess they are used to running on financial fumes.

Any of you jobbers read Sex, Lies and Headlocks? Any good?

I hear it stops around 2000ish, and its full of funny shit.

I might give it a go

WK8 is the first time I have seen Nakamura and immediately loved the guy. You premise is wrong especially in comparison to Sting.

Sting comes out with goofy facepaint is old, fat and has a receding hairline. Doesn't even have his baseball bat with him most of the time which made him famous. What about that is "cool"? And AJ is great in the ring, and kinda lacks everything else. Well he looks alright, but probably also not WWE good.

I look forward to this thread when Nakamura gets 'USA' chants despite being a face when he faces off against an American heel in flyover country.

Nakamura speaks pretty good English. Last year in Japan after my buddies flew back home I hung out with a group of new Japan friends I made. No one at the table really spoke English so the one who is a friend of Nakamura called him up at midnight so I'd have someone to talk to. We shot the shit about his match with Kota and he told me to make him famous in the US.

Oh god, Maggle and JBL are totally going to do the Dean Ambrose thing with Nakamura...

"Look at him Maggle! He's so unpredictable! You never know what he's going to do next!"

If we're getting shut down, I'm getting my Sandow .gif aired again, because it took me half an hour of my precious time to make.

We're scolded for being insular but then when someone new comes in they either post porn-y gifs or talk about wanting to grab a wrestler's ass.

Who's the real bad influence here, mods?

Aiii

So not worth it
Someone might get banned for posting inappropriate gifs, but this place is only getting shut down for its US bias, as illustrated by the Sandow gif.

The racism against us Euros is real, people, and can no longer be ignored.

This will probably never happen.. but I was thinking today that it would be awesome to see Stardust come out at like 4-5, then have him get eliminated.. then come back around 15-16 and be Cody. Wash all the paint off and get back out there in time.

They could do a cool split personality angle where he gets a big babyface pop as Cody and when he comes back as Stardust on raw, everyone boo's him.

Im probably not the only one to think of this, but I think it would be decent
I only like this angle if Cody wins the Rumble and Stardust kicks off a title feud by laying him out the next night.
