This is amazing, now the chances for part 5 and 6 increased!

I wonder how the art will look in this part, since part 4 was the start of change in araki's art.

Oh God, got me worried there.

Best JOJO, YES!

To me, this part is where the Stand battles got really creative and not too wacky (well comparatively to Part 5 and beyond, like who the fuck understand how Part 5 main villain's stand works), making it the definitive part where all Stands actions are to be judged against.

That's all I want from part 5. An explanation.

I still have no idea what this series is about.

I mean when wiki has synopses like these:
In 1880s Great Britain, the young Jonathan Joestar meets his new adopted brother Dio Brando, who only wants to usurp Jonathan as heir to the Joestar family. However, his attempts are thwarted and he resorts to using an ancient Stone Mask which transforms him into a vampire. Jonathan, with Italian Hamon master Will A. Zeppeli and former street thug Robert E.O. Speedwagon at his side, must now find a way to stop Dio using his newly found affinity for the Hamon martial arts now that Dio's sights are set on nothing less than world domination.
In New York City in 1938, Joseph Joestar, grandson of Jonathan, who has a natural affinity for the Hamon, becomes entangled in his grandfather's destiny when the Pillar Men, supernatural beings of impossible power, awaken after failed experiments by Nazi German special forces. Joseph ultimately teams up with Caesar Zeppeli, Will's grandson, and Caesar's teacher Lisa Lisa, a woman mysteriously tied to Joseph, to stop the Pillar Men from obtaining a mystical artifact in Lisa Lisa's possession that will grant them complete immortality and bring about the end of the world at their hands, so long as Joseph can master the Hamon to beat the Pillar Men in a rematch for the antidotes to poisons they implanted in his body.
In 1989, Jotaro Kujo, a Japanese high school student, places himself in jail because he believes he is possessed by an evil spirit. His mother Holly calls on her father Joseph Joestar to talk sense into Jotaro, and with the help of his ally the Egyptian fortune teller Mohammed Avdol, reveals that Jotaro has in fact developed a supernatural ability known as a Stand that has run through the family due to the revival of their ancestor's foe Dio. After thwarting an assassination attempt by transfer student Noriaki Kakyoin who is under Dio's thrall, Jotaro and Joseph discover that Holly is dying from her own Stand. Jotaro resolves to hunt down Dio, and Joseph leads him, Avdol, and Kakyoin to Egypt, using their Stands to battle more Stand-wielding assassins along the way, gaining allies in the French swordsman Jean Pierre Polnareff who wishes to avenge the death of his sister, and the stray dog Iggy, before 50 days elapse and Holly dies.
Sure, Japan. Sure.

You can't judge true art by just a synopsis someone on the internet wrote.

Deep in everyone's heart they know how it works.

It just works.

So I just starts watching Jojo first episode, what's with the
time skips
? Does the anime rush the story or something.

You started at Part 1 with Jonathan right? The progression of time is pretty much the same as the manga, Part 1 is also the shortest part and serves as the foundation for everything that comes after it.

The great thing about Jojo is that you can do any colour you want because of Araki's love of colour theory. I cosplayed Joseph as well back in May, but I went with his standard colours in the anime. Would love to see your pics personally.

Thought i linked an image. Should be there now.

Do they eventually team up or something or are they standalone stories?

Easiest way to explain Jojo without spoilers is "A battle between two bloodlines whose actions affect future generations."

Parts are semi standalone. They each have their own major plot, but usually happen because of the previous part's actions. Plus characters and previous plot points from old parts love to show up in other parts as well.

You may see some shit about how there's vampires and all that stuff you think you've seen before, but trust me when I say it goes WAYYY beyond anything you can imagine. The fact that so many famous manga artists and series were inspired or outright created because of Jojo should let you know how good it is.

The best way to describe Jojo is that it's kind of like Star Wars in how it focuses on one single family (Skywalkers/Joestars) through each generation.

Each generation has it's own plotline but they're all linked to each other in various ways.

Despite that you could literally go into any Jojo arc blind and won't miss a thing for the most part, the previous parts only serve as a bakdrop more than anything.

Hell yes.

Though, I still haven't watched all of Part 3.

This anime better press on all the way. I need animated Part 7 badly.

I doubt they'll stop now. Part 5 is a certainty given it's probably the most popular in Japan outside of Part 3. Part 6 will probably get animated based on the ratings of 5. Might as well make 7 at that point, but it also is likely the most at risk since it's so different. I still would say odds are better than not that they'll all see release.

It's going to be a good...7-10 years before we get Part 7, so no use worrying about it now.

It's sad that we'll have to wait so long to get Part 7 animated. It's pretty much my favourite part.
Part 3's still got the best final fight though

I really hope David Pro don't mess this up in a similar manner to how they botched some of the Part 3 direction by slavishly adhering to the manga's pace (which doesn't necessarily translate well to animation.) I mean, it'll still be great, but they've got a great opportunity here to try to make it translate better into a show.

Part 3 is probably the worst pacing JoJo has outside of maybe Part 5. Part 4 will transition better to animation simply because it's pacing is much better to begin with. There are some things you can do to aid it, but it'll be better regardless.

Yeah, I realize that, but the original Part 3 anime OVAs managed to translate certain scenes in a superior way to the David Pro anime without feeling like they were just animating manga panels.
