In my experience forza horizon always looks a lot better in tiny pictures than being played on a 4k set. I maxed out the game at 4k and it looks kinda fake to me, the lighting is a bit flat, models are low poly and weird looking, the image quality is dated and sky would look better with volumetrics. Thats why im kinda wary of horizon 5, it looks good on my phone but when i look at the 4k video on my oled the flaws become apparent.

I actually agree with OP, DriveClub still after all these years looks better than most games out there. And FH4 is one of my fav games of all time.
In before 30 FPS and low quality textures and 1080P Resolution.



Still the only game to scare the shit out of me going in at high speeds.

Can't really show how bad it handles - you have to have misfortune to experience it yourself. Its the worst handling driving game i've layed my hands on.

Worst handling? Fortunately, I've not had that case and I've played quite a lot of racing games, including Forza and Project Gotham. The cars all handle differently and the handling is unique. In my opinion, the handling is fine.

In regards to the graphics, again, fortunately, I don't play my racing games standing still. The car is always moving. That is the point right, to race? I understand the screen shots posted in this thread and it's ridiculous. Both are fantastic games and look beautiful and I enjoy both. I guess that is hard for some people to fathom.

You can find plenty honest simple in-game taken screenshots of DC provided in this very thread. Completely opposite of those trolls who set graphics to very low on horizon 4 pc and use in game camera to position it very close to the ground or other objects or fly it completely of road and take the ugliest pics they can find and then compare them to DC photo mode. Only one group is being honest.

You do know that some of the pictures being posted are literally the VR add on courses that have less details than the normal courses right?

The only argument most of these people are standing on is "MUH SUNSHINE LEVELS BE LOOKIN' LIKE SHIT" but when you present evidence of the game in motion... but... but... but... "HERE'S MUH CHERRY PICKED SCREENSHOTS" and "IT'S ONLY GOOD IN TEH RAINSSSS".

Then we have the people who keep on iterating controls when they couldn't turn the first turn in the game and quit. Literal hatred for a product that not even one of these people invested in because "ITS TOO HARD" OR "I'VE NEVER PLAYED IT SO ILL PRETEND TO HAVE PLAYED IT AND BASH IT ANYWAYS" or "BUH THE PLUS VERSION WAS DELAYED SO I BE SALTY".

If you want to see what the majority of posters look like with confirmation bias on, it's literally post #25. Everytime a Driveclub thread is posted, people come out with pitchforks and more forks. People asking to ban a person for soliciting an opinion as his own subjective truth doesn't have to be your truth, it just means you can't co-exist with different ideas. I for one love Forza Horizon (and it is the better game... although Motorsport is as ass) and DC, but if something is doing something better at a different department, give it the props it deserves instead of being a game's simp.

well funnily enough, I only found horribly compressed JPEGs of Forza 2 lol... I wonder how it would look if I had high quality .png files from the game running in an emulator a year or so ago it didn't run correctly on CXBX sadly tho

so the trees definitely look better in Forza 2, but I would say DriveClub has more small detail on the track and off track. but the AA solution in Forza 2 is better and has less artifacting.

using still images from in game moments is absolutely fair game. because guess what, in motion you can hide shortcomings by simply burring over the low detail stuff

that's because Driveclub floods the screen with effects. Forza has a clean style, meaning all the little bits that don't look that great will be on display for everyone to see.

Driveclub hides its shortcomings, as you can see in the still images where it literally can look like a PS3 game in some instances.

you are comparing graphics ofcourse you gonna stay still, how are you gonna show the texture, environments, draw distance, shadow quality, af, lod, and other stuf in motion when the game has 70% of the screen covered in motion blur
