They weren't deported they chose to go back to Korea rather than enter the US.

After having their cell phones confiscated, however, the staff decided to fly the members back to South Korea, where they arrived earlier Friday.

WM Entertainment said no entertainer’s visa was necessary for the group to attend the event since it wasn’t a solo concert.

I remember watching an episode of border control UK where Turkey sent an envoy to deliver a letter to the queen and immigration wouldn't believe a country would send a human being to deliver a letter personally instead of use the mail service, so they questioned the guy for hours about why he was carrying a sealed letter, no luggage and claiming he had an appointment with the Queen.
They were ready to go searching up his poop hole before someone suggested calling Buckingham Palace to ask if they were expecting anyone..which turns out they were.
These people are fucking morons. Brainwashed to be racist and think everyone is a terrorist or other criminal.

It also said they were doing a photo shoot right? can't speak for kpop but I know when jpop groups do that it's for photobooks or other promotional material and they need work visas to do it.

I'm not buying the label's response.
 
Just like the slave leia thread, this thread is weird, why can people not be aware of human trafficking. Its common for Asian girls to come over for short time, then get forced to be sex slaves at brothels for years.

indeed. I rather appreciate that they had the best interests of these girls in mind. A rare sight, tbqh. If they had the appropriate paperwork it probably wouldn't have even happened in the first place.
 
I mean, honestly, Human trafficking is a serious problem. Nothing wrong with these checks.

And honestly, those costumes are the way they are for a reason.

It's much more common for human traffickers to send people over to work in the food industry under virtual slavery, but sex trafficking is not unknown in the US. I doubt they fly into the US with a variaty of skimpy outfits and a manager though. *shrug* I dunno.

You need a visa to work if you are doing something that could be paid for, regardless of if you actually are getting paid. They would definitely need a visa for a promotional appearance paid or not.

So much This. The UK, the US, Canada and Australia have some of the harshest immigration/customs agent in the World. The worst being the US.

ITT you have gaffers thinking people get into the US just how americans get into Europe. Book at ticket, show your passport, say you're in Paris for leisure and get in. lol.

Nothing worse than trying to get in the US even with all your paperwork in check.

Even though I've bounced around a few forums by now, and have been a kpop 'fan' since 2012?

Any male dominated forum that has something for kpop (So /r/kpop and kpop-GAF) often times has a good half of people like I described. So what about me, who enjoys a group that generally has good music, and isn't snivelling to oppa like a submissive? Well, SOL, since apparently Korean hip hop isn't a thing with these fans, and indie acts are all but ignored unless they are IU or AKMU. And said group that I like (2NE1) doesn't conform to the disgusting beauty standards of Korea, and constantly gets shit on by the equivalent drive by shitposting of a 'drug dealer in the group'
