Are the girls supposed to be good, does Jiyeon/Qri like the guy, then hate him, then like him again? She's dumped by the other gang because she disrupted the killing of her partner - is found by Eunjung who beecomes her new partner, does plastic surgery to hide her past, etc etc -- until she drives a car with her fatally wounded partner off a cliff.

Thing is, I've been exposed to so much engrish that it's basically just a different dialect of english to me. Doesn't phase me, and is actually kind of endearing in a sense since it's how several of my friends talk and I understand why. Anyway, it doesn't hurt the song at all for me and it's really a great melody. I LAHV.

Qri was way better than Jiyeon in some respects. Jiyeon thinks being gangster = chewing gum. She has no clue how to be cool at all. Though, Qri really sucked at being distressed like when she was driving the guy out of there, but then she has never acted before.

Uh, she does. Her personality is more chill and it makes her extremely attractive and also really good at certain things. Jiyeon wouldn't be able to correctly do the sneaky bar scenes or the recognition of the dude at the stand. Her bright personality comes out too much because she's still immature IRL.

Qri was just flat. I like her, but not for this. Jiyeon showed the whole range, not just the (deliberately) kewl poses and screams, but subtler emotions as much as the script allowed it. Hell her whole Jungle Fish role was a matter of communicating subtle changes in a constantly depressed mood.

I think you're just misreading Jiyeon, on and off screen. Her cool is what sold the entire Roly Poly video.

It's funny because it seems like Tiffany's lines at the beginning are the only ones that rhyme and have the right stresses - it's like she read over her lines and thought "fuck this I'm writing better lyrics".

This was awesome, they need to do more of this. I don't get how their engrish sounds worse though. If you look at their older videos I feel like taengoo and the cunning Maknae were better at getting the stresses and enunciations right. But then again, those older songs were just covers of American songs that they can listen to over and over to get right. They probably get confused when the song is original.

As for the bad lyrics it makes perfect sense. The people writing the songs probably don't have a firm grasp on English either and so they write it how everyone else speaks it there. Plus even when i look at the romanized versions of pop songs, the lyrics are still pretty dreadful, the language may not matter so much when it comes to korean pop. Rap songs are usually good though.

Your right in the sense that English in non-English speaking countries almost becomes like a separate dialect, almost like pigeon or new Orleans slang. In non-English speaking countries you'll notice very little use of contractions and over use of simple words that doesn't really convey what they are trying to say and makes them sound 7 years old. It's like me trying to write a song in Korean. The entire thing would consist of, sarangae, yogil, jakku, chok, and anyang. Which I guess still could make a good song cus 99% of Kpop songs have those words.
