I'm just saying enjoy it while you can. I've played too many 360 games with cool multiplayer that were completely dead after a few weeks. There were some modes and options I never got to try because no one ever played them.
Fair enough.

Well, I won't buy it new. But the demo sold me. Yeah, three hours isn't much, but, well, sounds awesome and it had me in its grips. Wish money was not so lean at the moment.

Lurve them characters and their complete fucking emptiness. :D

Worst of all, Lynch's lunatic tendencies have been all but removed. You're playing as him for almost all the single-player story, yet there's never anything as clever or interesting as the bank job from the first game where he hallucinates that civilians are cops. He's become just another scowling, swearing, shooting abstraction.

Also holding things [multiplayer] back are the incredibly strict time limits – five minutes is the longest available – which leave little room for any serious strategic play beyond "I'm going this way, you go that way".

dammit, I was really looking forward to this game.

3-4 hours? what the hell did they spend so much time making?

The next Hitman game.

Meh, I never expected the game to be very long in the first place. It always seemed pretty focused.

Reviewers shitting on this game is pretty much a kick in the balls for any developer trying to create compelling and original games.

Wow, the Eurogamer review is scathing.

Ugh...3-4 hours? I was going to buy this on my lunch break, but I I never play multiplayer modes and $60 + tax is fairly ridiculous for such little content.
Looks like you can finish it before it's over!

hmmmmm, I will judge by myself when the game arrives form Gamefly.

I almost wonder if the reviews are just getting back at Eidos and IO for the whole GameSpot journalist getting fired for giving it a low review score. Nothing in the demo screamed a 5/10 game. It felt like a 7 to 7.5/10 game. Weird

Compelling, sure... But what exactly is original about this game? As I said last page, this game really isn't anything special. It's a fun little ride and the multiplayer is interesting, but there isn't much in it that is original outside of the handycam visuals.

Game just got released in Singapore.

I thought it was just my Xbox that was faulty at first- but damn, the developers really made some weird choices with the camera/ visual design here. When the camera is positioned behind your character, everything looks just fine. Swing it around abit though, and everything becomes fuzzy; and stays that way. The lens flare effects here are also all over the bloody place.

Shoot someone in the head, and their face will occasionally be censored by a mess of pixels ala censored Japanese porn.

@Munin: There is nothing original about the game. Maybe the visuals but that's it.

The demo sucked, the reviews don't surprise me at all.

Updated OP with some reviews.

Damn... reviews are making me pretty down :(

I was really looking forward to this one, the style and atmosphere of the first game had sold me on it, and this one was well on its way. Length of campaign is something that's disappointed me since I first heard about it... short SP campaigns always tick me off.

I'll still pick it up today cause I was really looking forward to it since it was announced... but I dunno, sorta in a low mood after reading these reviews.

Well, that's disappointing. I was all set to run out and buy it, but decided to check out reviews, and now I see that it's getting slammed. Those are some awful scores.

4-5 hours of constant shooting doesn't sound appealing. I was hoping for more variety and unique situations, but it sounds like the entire game mimics the demo.

A shame. Guess I'll wait for Mafia II next week and continue playing Starcraft II for now.

Actually reading through a few of the latter ones sorta makes me feel a little better... reviews are so mixed though.

Love it or hate it. Alot of my favorite titles this gen were that way:

The Outfit
Dead Rising
Lost Planet 1 AND 2

to name a few...

If you didn`t like the first, stay away from this one...it`s just as messy...what`s with all the buffering going on as well and the censored pixels are annoying...can you turn those off? i`m playing on medium and it`s hard and it takes 15 bullets to kill someone,no subtitles and most of the time you can`t hear shit(on the 360) so you have to raise the volume etc etc...not impressed so far.

It has subtitles. You cannot turn off the pixelization, it's there for a reason. Buffering presumably equals loading. And yes, it's hard. Tune it down to Easy if you're having a tough time. Sound design is done like that for a reason.

I'm pretty shocked at how the reviews are going so far (especially the Destructoid one - just wow). When I was finished with the Story last night, I was thinking something along the lines of a 75 - it's a good game but it's nothing special... and short.

Also, multiplayer is pretty fun. There's some weird warping issues here and there depending on the connection, but aside from that it works as advertised and can be a blast.

Anyway, IO... Hitman next, please?

Ha ha, buffering is kind of a joke. It's a load screen.

I picked it up, short games don't really bother me because I don't have tons of hours to play and the multi looks cool. I actually sort of like K&L 1 so I've been looking forward to this. I know I'll regret it when it goes to 40 dollars in September but my willpower when it comes to gaming is weak. Anyway, I figure I got to get in on the multiplayer while it's still going, who knows in 2-3 months it'll probably dry up.

Ok :lol they got me there,I thought it was doing something online or something...guess i`ll turn it down to easy...I mean I like the shaky cam aspect of it and the in game cutscenes and all are pretty cool,I like the look of the graphics in the city and all...I find they just throw too many goons and cops at you at once,I would prefer ennemies like in the first section of the demo for example...where i`m dying a lot now,the big parking garage,I guess i`m not using the fire extinguishers enough or something...

I'm waiting to see if the multi will stick. Else I'll wait for half price sale/free weekend.

Looking into the multiplayer, I really hope people stay with it on 360. Those modes sound fantastic. And focused.

I played a little bit of the Dark Sector multilpayer the other day, and that shit bombed hard, and there was enough people to play some matches, for sure there's gonna be people playing dog days for a long time.

*si había gente para jugar Dark Sector hace un par de días, va a haber gente para jugar dog days.

After reading the reviews I'm really looking forward to picking this game up for $30.00 in a few months or so. The under cover cop mod seems amazing and that visual style is shocking (with the blurred out headshots).

Not to mention short playtimes = multiple playthrough friendly, which I honestly tend to prefer nowadays over 20+ hour games

Replaying Dead Rising right now and it's FAN-TASTIC! :D

I dunno, I compare all short games to Valve's Episode 1. This game has a huge amount riding on the multiplayer, if they don't support it correctly people will trade it in for the next big game without blinking an eye. But I have a select few games that I only ever replay each year.

Picked it up this morning, and having not played the first game, I have to admit to being surprised by this game. I wasn't expecting a straight-up shooter, but that's what I got. Granted, I only played for about three hours, but unless it changes drastically at some point, there's not much on offer here. And someone said the game is only three to four-hours long? Damn, I must be nearing the end, then. Had I paid $15 for it off of PSN, I'd be plenty satisfied with the game; hell, I'd be raving about it. Thus far, however, it's hardly a $55 (what I paid at Walmart) game. Looking forward to tinkering with the co-op and other modes, but still...

Army of Two and Kane and Lynch were both poorly received, short games features psychopathic main characters. Each had a few neat ideas and people generally agreed could be improved by sequels.

And yet both sequels are shorter, more content-light, and generally fail to improve the original games.

So you could say that this game is like Army of Two 2... 2.

I still bought it even after all of this negativity. The MP, while this isn't justifiable, is fun enough to make up for the short ass SP.

The PS3 install screen was rather neat, I wish more developers would please be creative or at least make it not a black screen with a load bar..

And both revolve around an escape from Shanghai, if I'm not mistaken.

I love the Army of Two games like my little retarded children, and I imagine I will this one as well. Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, however, was stillborn.

That metaphor may have gone too far.

I enjoyed the first one, mostly for the story and the great cast of characters...

Jeff was right in some of his problems, but I loved the characters. Flawed characters, but not to the point you couldnt care for them!
