Well i can say i agree with both sides, theres some stuff that killed killzone 2 for me and stuff that killed resistance 2. the BIG difference for me between the two is that with killzone i can play and totally lose track of time, i cant tell you how many hours ive put in, but i can say i never ever really look because im having fun. Whereas in resistance 2I was constantly looking to see how many kills i had in the menu, mostly for that damn trophy. But the thing that saved resistance was the co op, i played the shit out of that!!! I beat resistance 2 twice, which says alot, i just recently beat killzone 2, and i really wanted to get a platinum but that last level was ridiculous, really bad game design. [/B]LOOOOVED the sp until the last part. They force you into a moving forward all the time design, never having to look behind, and the controls work for that style, then the end you have to be worrying about people behind you and you cant turn quick enough to get a shot off,[/B] just really really stupid. Both are high quality games, but i can sayy killzone 2s multiplayer will just keep me sooooo enertained. have had some really fun games with GAF!!

I get to the second balcony alright, but damn if I don't just overwhelmed. I always hold off until the second wave of soldiers start coming. I like the game. But playing it at this difficulty is making me hate it.

It's almost controller-snapping difficult. I'd have probably broken the controller already but since money's tight, that's a no-no.

I think I'll just take the loss and play it on trooper/veteran difficulties instead. Often when I like a game enough, I like trying out a higher difficulty for a bit more of a challenge. But this game right now on Elite makes my blood pressure rise, and I don't even have high blood pressure.

Yea, as many Chtimera I mowed down in R2, killing a Helghast squad is more satisfying when you get the hang of it. Things really didn't click for me until the Bridge of my first playthrough, and that was that. Once you stop looking at them at moving ammo boxes and recognize that they aren't dumb, it really pulls you in.

Mowing down enemies is fun, sure, but that what RE5 Mercenaries is for.

Edit@post above: There's tips in the thread for getting past that part, from what I've read, everyone says that part sucks on Elite.

Really haven't played much recently.. Didn't even get the DLC map pack yet because of the underwhelming response.
I'm hoping for big things from patch 1.27 to get me excited again.

Knife is your friend after the balcony doors open.

I can't believe how much easier it was after I switched to that tactic. It was harder for me on Veteran. The hardest part of the game for me (Elite) was storming Radec Palace, stilled loved it though.

I then whip out the knife and take care of two Helghast on my way to the stairs. I then get to the second floor and run to the flamethrower guys and knife them. Rico then joins me upstairs. Then from where the flamethrower guys were, I basically try to stand my ground. Running from left to right, taking out the guys below.

Where I seem to be f'ing up is when some troops end up getting to the second floor and I try to knife them but get overwhelmed.

I must be doing something wrong...

The SP offers nothing the MP doesn't. The encounters aren't very compelling and instead of doing things that could never be emulated in MP, it may as well be a collection of large, linear MP levels with Bot opponents.

I blocked them at the ramp on the "right" stairwell or gunned them down as they ran towards me through the flames. Killing 3-4 guys in the stairwell makes it infinitely easier to deal with.

Rico can keep people busy on the other left stairwell side but he typically goes down. He can keep them busy long enough for you to clean out your side though and run over to help/save him.

Single player is a big part of fps games that I care for. Multiplayer is very important too, if the game lends itself to it (jury's still out on Bioshock 2 multi imo).

But I really liked the single player campaign in Killzone 2.

yeah, m4 revolver is a mini-sniper/shotgun with infinite ammo. Most players just playing eng+c4+m4 placing turrets around, that's how you dominate in KZ2 unless you face a good organized team.

It doesn't especially if you are unlocking the Spot and Mark ability. Spot and Mark takes 5 kills, Sniper scope takes 10. Sit in a corner and have fun

Body shots sometimes get 1 shot kills too. If not, the 2nd shot will close the deal. It's a fucking beast.

Accepting that the game is the best looking and possibly the best playing FPS on the market (depending on your view?)

KZ2 is a mighty fine reason to get a PS3.

Obviously it wasn't objective, just very subjective after a long time of KZ2. I played a lot fo COD4 before. But now I can't get into it anymore. KZ2 is not perfect regarding the controls, but in COD all guns feel like toys now and it's totally unbelievable, almost UT-like. And the graphics...nevermind. XD
