Kingdom Come: Deliverance II ⊰♖|OT|♖⊱ Stop! Or My Henry Will Swing His Sword!

Go outside the city. You'll have all kind of bad fps drops. Just go to the red devil for example
Damn, you are right, frames dropping into the fifties there.

Hope they drop a hotfix before the weekend.

The game really needs an option for the UI to be enlarged. Map icons are difficult to see from couch experience. Seeing this patch note, for example, is disheartening "- Made POI icons on the map smaller."

My overall fps is worse too outside of the city by like 30. These random drops by looking at a direction are really jarring and bad tho. Well i played the game on high and went to ultra with my new GPU. Didnt think the gfx would look this much better on ultra
I am playing on maxed experimental at 4k. The transformer model does take a hit a little and am trying to see the difference if it's worth using.

The update seemed to make performance worse, I'm dropping 10 frames in places that were fine yesterday

Edit: Yea Bylany is really bad in the tavern. Even dropping to 1080p didn't fix it. Before this ran really well.

Had to drop everything to high, then moved foilage to medium along with volumetric clouds to get more stable frames. Still doesn't run as good as it did

Sucks to hear about the patch hurting performance.

I just picked up all the DLC for KCD1 on the Steam Sale for $5. I played KCD1 in January and beat KCD2 a couple weeks ago and am hungry for more.

I sold a crucifix... lol

So much to say about the game, over 100 hours in now and focusing on finishing the story, will be back with extensive thoughts soon but as I've said in previous posts, KCD2 is an instant classic and one of the best games of this generation.

Anyone having issues saving/sleeping in inns that you've paid for? Some people on Reddit were saying some of the rooms were being triggered as private despite being paid for.

Afraid to download the patch if that's the case. ( playing on ps5 pro if that matters)

Happen to be watching this classic Polish movie Deluge (Potop) tonight, from 1974. Set in a different period and not Bohemia of course but there are definitely KCD vibes. Duels, nobility at court and political intrigue, much bloodshed and adventure, protagonist on an epic arc. Worth checking out for the KCD2 fans.

Oh I man I've seen that duel in the 5th picture online before it's a great scene! Wondered what the movie's name was thanks!

I've had ReBar enabled since day 1, it's definitely not a fix.
IT IS.

The patch must have disabled Rebar (likely oversight).

Forcing it:
nvidia profile inspector. kcd2 profile. rBAR-feature = enable, rBAR-options =0x00000001 , rBAR size limit = 0x0000000040000000 . hope this helps

brings my framerate back where it was before the patch. No drops to 40s anymore, smooth 60 at the same settings. Wunderbar!

Apparently this framerate drop was not caused by the patch at all, but purely by the nVidia drivers? I did update them yesterday before I started playing so it lines up. Well, at least it is easily fixable.

I had the latest driver and the game ran much better before the patch. So its definitely the patch.

I can try it in like half an hour, will update if no one else has done before that.

edit: downloading patch...

Us Swedes did good in that one. Great movie!

Ok so I tried again with the hotfix and both Kuttenberg and Devil's Den seem to run perfectly again.

God bless.

Patch yesterday definitely killed my performance, and I'm also now unable to open the door to my bedroom at the blacksmith's place.

My increased inventory space mod also seems to have stopped working.

Yeah, mods generally are "done" after an update and you need to wait for the modder to update it. But with 1.2. the game shall have access now to the Steam workshop. You might wanna check there as well if you could find what you are looking for.

Yeah after the hotfix i dont have fps drops anymore and got like 50+ fps lol. I would like to know what was the issue :D

Im glad they fixed it so fast, game runs like a dream again

Played about an hour on Pro last night post patch, two major fixes/improvements:

- getting "extra service" at bathhouses is no longer bugged, cue much yanking of the pizzle

- no more frame hitching in Kuttenberg! My framerate would hitch literally every 5 seconds in the city, didn't matter night or day, rain or shine, horseback or on foot, it was becoming really fucking distracting.

Will have more time with it over the weekend but my brief session suggests the patch is delivering the goods 👌

Love this game but would've waited another 3 months if they could've shown us the insides of the churches.

They look cool from the outside!
This is really a pet peeve of mine. Some of the best things in the first game was to visit all the churches and see the frescos.

Kuttenberg is ridiculous. Most impressive medieval RPG city to date. Truly next level from Novigrad.
I love that I can see people going around all the way in the distance, no god damn pop-in like in Dragon's Dogma 2, and everyone is simulated, no fake cardboards like in TW3.

And the few quests I have done here so far have all been so good. The one with helping bathhouse owner set up her business - when was the last time a videogame asked you if you prefer tits or ass? Would any american writer even dare to put such a philosophical debate into their game?

Also, minstrel haircut plus beard combo ftw

And last but not least, I wish more games used SVOGI. It looks so freaking good, while being a fraction as demanding as raytraced GI.

There was an option missing:

Finally! A bigger HUD mod now exists

So where are you guys selling jewelry for the best price? Or are some of you keeping some for charisma etc? Or is it best to offload it, tryin to find where we can get the most for it.

I've been composing this post on and off for the past 2 weeks, slowly contemplating what exactly it is I want to say having long since entered the awe-inspiring city known as Kuttenberg. To say Kuttenberg is KCD2s Novigrad moment would be selling it short. This is a true, living, breathing city the likes of which I haven't really seen before. I've spent 30 hours in around it and it never ceases to amaze me.

There is a level of detail that makes it feel *real*, the buildings and environment carefully constructed, subject to the patina of time:

Sometime I just like walking through the streets looking for the "faces in things" (this building is a double whammy!):

This is a city under seeming perpetual transformation, walking the streets at dawn is different from walking them at dusk, approaching a building from the East will reveal things unseen if coming from the West. One might say this applies to *any* open-world game with a day/night cycle but that simply isn't true. Maybe it's the time period, maybe it's the visual fidelity, maybe it's the perspective. All I know is Kuttenberg is special and undoubtedly a contender for greatest videogame city ever.

Not to mention having some of the best missions and characters in the game yet which is saying a lot considering everything I experienced up until this point. It is a medieval playground built for thievery, murder, diplomacy, debauchery and it never ever gets old.

I was at 80% story completion according to the PSN progress tracker, literally did 10+ hours worth of main missions and it now shows 81% lol, seems Henry has a lot left to do in these medieval lands, will reserve my final thoughts until then, Kuttenberg deserved it's own dedicated post.

I booted it up last night and got about an hour in. It's GREAT. Super immersive. Good game so far, hope it keeps it up. Love the dog, lol. Game just feels really good, like comfortable for some reason. Reminds me of Uhtred, Son of Uhtred.

Spent entire day today playing during my home office, it's nice to have a job that allows for that xD

Finally freed up
Capon from Malešov
and now on my way to possibly meet Zikmund himself for the first time.

180 hours played and I do not want it to end...mark of a true masterpiece. With Ubisoft and similar games (Horizons, Tsushimas..), I usually have my fill at around hour 30.

Just finished the story and all side missions.
I feel empty. KCD and it's sequel are two of the best games I've ever played. The immersion is on a whole other level.
I can't wait for some DLC to drop so I can start the game over again. It feels like forever ago since I stole the maypole from Tachov. Or that time when me and Klara had our moment outside the walls of Nebakov fortress.
I wish all games were as good as this one but alas, they're few and far in between.

Strange bug, during Dice the characters (both Henry and opponent) are suddenly not voiced, and also when praising Mutt the lines are not voiced. Anyone else? Not sure if caused by patch or not. Edit - this was a self-inflicted bug not caused by the game, but by me trying different voice acting packages. Disregard.
I just can't get into the combat of this game. It's really putting me off. I can't think of a combat system that feels worse.
Combat gets much smoother and less clunky as both you and Henry improve the skill. When you know some combos and masterstrike, you can feel like a bad ass. Or you can just use maces and axes and smash people over the head, or bows and crossbows.
