And NBA fans don't use the masculinity of their sport as some weird sort of proxy for themselves. That's why we enjoy our sport without feeling the need to shit on others randomly.

How did this become about Hockey at all? This about one of the greatest basketball players ever potentially ending his career. There's a community thread for Hockey, should be easier to find than a hockey game on TV.
 
didn't think this thread would turn out the way it did. i thought maybe you would get fans of other teams trolling but never hockey fans coming in here trying to convince people their sport matters.

I watch basketball casually but I hope Bryant comes back soon... though then again, plenty of championships, been playing in the NBA at an elite level since he started, maybe he should just retire in good health?

Jordan was in the league six years before he got Phil Jackson and all the teammates that would help him win a title. Lebron was in the league 7 years before he won a title. He choked twice in the Finals. Jordan never choked in the finals.

Lebron teamed up with a HOF player in Wade who already lead a team to the title while winning FMVP. Teamed up with Bosh who was thought of as a top 10 player at the time and also lead teams to the playoffs. Pippen and Grant were thought of as soft and the fans wanted them out of Chicago and management was thinking of trading them too.

The only great playoff team Lebron has played is the Spurs lead by 4 time champ Tim Duncan. And he got tore up that series.

Tell me again how Jordan had it better? He didn't. I like Lebron, but he isn't on Jordan's level and he won't ever be with the HCA losses and the two losses in the finals.

Is that really the issue? The issue is implying that hockey can't be as athletic because a lot of the players are white Canadians.

His problem wasn't with Celtics fans, his problems were with Bostonians being racist and not liking the Celtics because of their blackness. That's why he liked to say he played for the Celtics, not the "Boston" Celtics. He took issue with the city embracing an NHL player like Bobby Orr but not his 11 championships.
 
As much as I hate the lakers I do wish Kobe a speedy recovery and hope to see him play again. The guy is really special to watch.

No, Jordan choked before making it to the Finals against the Pistons before finally getting blessed with his HOF crew.

Jordan retires, Bulls still make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. Lebron leaves Cleveland, and the Cavs go from a Finals team who won 66 games, to a group of janitors who won like 8 games. It's no contest who is the better player.
