No, Jordan choked before making it to the Finals against the Pistons before finally getting blessed with his HOF crew.

Jordan retires, Bulls still make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. Lebron leaves Cleveland, and the Cavs go from a Finals team who won 66 games, to a group of janitors who won like 8 games. It's no contest who is the better player.

What year was it that he choked? Jordan never choked in the playoffs. Never.

A sport that has more stars than the NHL.

After reading your comment I did my due diligence, and if it was made in reference to:

I applaud you're creativity, but I fear I may be reaching here.

Cavs won 19 games after James left, Bulls won 13 games after Jordan left.

The year he got suspended for gambling so he decided to make some money off of baseball? He didn't get his usual off season work in or enough reps in season to be in playoff shape. He was back to his self the next season.
Sounds like an excuse to me

Except you said he NEVER choked in the playoffs. Once again you're shown to be wearing your normal drunken clown shoes.

lol I thought I was debating with people who were actually watching basketball when Jordan was around...

From 1985 onwards, the Bulls reached the playoffs every season he was on the team's roster. However, Jordan could not lead the Bulls past the first round of the playoffs by himself, so in 1987, general manager Jerry Krause acquired Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant at that summer's draft. These two young forwards could complement Jordan with their scoring, defense, and rebounding. In 1989, the Bulls played in their first conference finals series since 1975, losing to the Detroit Pistons.

Jordan suddenly retired from basketball in October 1993 and embarked upon a career in minor league baseball. Although the Bulls signed European standout Toni Kukoč to help alleviate the loss, they could not extend their championship streak, falling to the New York Knicks in the 1994 Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Show some respect, people.

I don't follow the NHL, but I would still give my condolences to their fans if one hockey's major stars like that fat goalie kid from mighty ducks was injured.

LOL, this feels like a pop thread where instead of belligerently bickering about singers, it's about the sports/athletes.

You guys are determined to fuck the thread up just to push your agendas. Stop, seriously.

I hope Kobe gets better quickly. I don't particularly care for the Lakers but all injuries suck. Nothing sucks worse than feeling useless.

ITT 18 guys making the same joke about how NBA is more popular in the US then hockey, congrats! We should invite Football gaf in here to shit all over your sport and your idea of popular.

They have the good sense to not barge into other sports' threads with the intent of trolling it.

Except one of your fellow hockey fellas made the claim that outside of fans, folks couldn't care less about Kobe. Thank him.

I hope Duncan and KG get major threads on GAF for their retirements...

But I'm really hoping not because of injury and the thread size isn't based around a lot of stupid arguing about nothing.

Said by one of your own

It's actually the opposite. This started because Lakers-Age thought an ACL injury was relevant enough to deserve a thread. NHL GAF disagrees.

Kobe Bryant is a great player but outside of NBA circles nobody cares whether he got injured.

Yea and? If you're not a basketball fan then you probably don't give a fuck about this, which is why it should stay in the NBA thread. Seems pretty simple.

Get the fuck over it .Just because a nhl injury would fall off the front page in 5 minutes doesnt mean you should come whining like a baby in this thread

This is stupid. NBA legend has a potential career ending injury and it's not thread worthy? Front page of every news site but not worth it's own thread on GAF?
