Now this is one of the most impressive and out of nowhere "jump the shark" moments in gaming history.
Bravo Konami, bravo. Slow clap*

That summary has me in stitches.

Well, at least Metal Gear fans had a nice two decade run of good games before this happened.

I look forward to the MGS-themed Mobile Strike rip-off coming soon.

This is the type of game to get no hype whatsoever for how preposterous it is but will probably end up being an amazing game.

Right guys...

Set directly after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Survive sees the members of Militaires Sans Frontières not killed in that game’s finale transported through wormholes into an alternate universe, where they’re forced to battle a force of crystalline zombies and, it seems, at least one Metal Gear itself.

What in the flying fuck?

Honestly, I thought it was going to be essentially Rising 2 until I saw the premise.
Given the dumb zombie shit that was in MGSV with the survivors of MSF, I'd be willing to bet this was planned since early in MGSV's development.

+ wormhole extraction.

Doesn't seem too farfetched to think that this was planned. Hell, it might've even started as a addon multiplayer component back when Kojima's team was still together.
Shit. This is kind of true. Wow. This is going to be so interesting to see develop. I'm morbidly curious.

More games with mgsv's mechanics are always welcome
While I agree, this is not the way to do it. I fucking hated the zombies in MGS pV and fighting those fuckers is not making the most of the awsome stealth mechanics at all.

edit: if this is just a MG Onlinr expansion then there really is no issue.

The slow drip feed of information for this game until release is going to be hilarious.

Oh Konami, you bumbling fucks.

For those who have played MGSV and consider this just as a money grabber think about two concepts:

-Wormholes
-Zombies

This could have been planned as fun DLC for MGSV but decided to split it and make a full game.

Don't really get the bad feedback. I mean, the idea is crazy but it's not like it's something that wouldn't fit the Metal Gear universe really (as a spin-off like Rising). Visually it looks nice, the music is nice and the gameplay could potentially be quite fun if they keep it close to how MGSV plays.

If Kojima were involved in this, more people would be hyped. Kojima himself isn't the only person working on the game, and dismissing this title because it's made by Konami themselves is kinda insulting to the actual developers working on this :/

By all means, I'd love to see more games with the Fox Engine but aside from cashing in on a brand name, this makes no sense having the Metal Gear name.

After this part I had to triple check the thread wasn't a joke. Lol!

Okay, first of all, that is not Metal Gear. Nothing about it is Metal Gear, save for the name and possibly crazy high-tech doodads. Wait, doodads isn't getting the red squiggly underline. Huh. It's a word. Anyway, not Metal Gear. It is an insult, because it is Konami, but it actually does look fairly interesting, I will admit.

Even if it wasn't Konami, though, and didn't have the Metal Gear name, I wouldn't buy it because it's co-op only, from the sound of it.

I suppose I can at least take comfort in the fact that they're not messing with the story and just using the universe.

Reads like the "Operation Raccoon City" of Metal Gear.

More like the Umbrella Corps of Metal Gear Solid; turning a franchise into generic horrible under produced schlock that barely has a shadow of what made the franchise great.

I can't imagine who or what is still working on this. Maybe there are people left from the multiplayer portion of MGSV still moving the Metal Gear skeleton. Would probably make some sense of the heavy multiplayer focus they seem to have been moving towards with this new game. Also, fuck, this reminded me they're holding the FOX engine hostage still. Its maddening I tells ya, maddening.

Metal Gear is now a zombie survival co-op game. Oh dear.

It looks like they made a different game just slapped the name on it. So fucking lame.
