Kurakasis: Something that FromSoftware was working on before the release of the Elden Ring DLC had the codename 'CL'

Something that FromSoftware was working on before the release of the Elden Ring DLC had the codename CL. I haven’t found any info suggesting that the Elden Ring DLC has a different codename than the base game (GR - Great Rune), so it’s possible that CL is a new FromSoftware game.
To be clear, CL can be an abbreviation for a codename. In the case of Elden Ring, the codename was 'Great Rune,' but only the abbreviation GR appears in the game files.
Q: Are you sure it's not Armored Core 6?
A: Armored Core 6 is FNR

Kurasakis is pretty underrated, IMO. Last thing I remember is that he was the first one to leak LEGO Horizon Adventures a while back.

How many teams do they have?

Armored Core came out really fast after Elden Ring and then the DLC after that, so I’m going to guess 2 teams at least.

Maybe CL is to Bloodborne as Dark Souls is to Demon's Souls

It's a bit of nothing. It's pretty obvious they're working on something. The abbreviation of a codename gives us nothing. Even a full codename is too vague and make sense only when you see the game in action. (Bloodborne wast "Project Beast", without seeing the game you could imagine a lot of different things just based on the codename.)

Well they’ve said they’re making a new game and that they’re completely finished with Elden Ring. So isn’t this already known? The news here would just be that there’s a codename (which doesn’t tell us anything)

Perhaps this very project is the reason why Hermen Hulst dropped the name FromSoftware - alongside Kojima Productions, which is making Death Stranding 2 and now Physint for them - when asked about partnerships for first-party games during an interview back in 2021.

I don't think it was in any doubt that From Soft is working on a new game, though.
It would be news if we learned something about what it is or when it's going to show up.

There will be no more bloodborne. From want to own the IP now, that's why they moved from demon souls to dark souls.

Yeah, sadly. I continue to hold onto my hopium tank for a Blue Point BB remake. That seems like the best we could get at this point.

Give us bloodborne 2 .. No more sekiro armored core bullshit

On topic, there's been some speculation that they're working on a sci-fi game with a focus on mech combat (based on an old interview).

I'd like to think that Armored Core 6 was just a warmup to get back into the mech genre. In a similar vein to how Sekiro was a spiritual successor to Tenchu, I could see them resurrecting an old game like Frame Gride.

Could you imagine From's take on something like Warhammer 40K, but with mechs? I'm salivating

ChapGPT came up with "Cursed Legacy" and "Chalice Lords" (among a few others). I kind of like the Cursed Legacy one as a Bloodborne sequel.

As mentioned this is a whole lot of nothing as everyone knew From was working on something new and 2 letters of a codename gives us nothing.

It's without question that after ER was done, even before the release of Erdtree, something new was beginning to be made. Let us all simply be blessed to experience it when it's finally out, and let it also be a real big game and not some VR garbo getting our hopes up for nothin'.

In addition to name dropping them with Kojima several times, he also literally confirmed there is a new game in the works when asked about SIE increasing their stake in FROM.
