Thanks, I appreciate it. It's always the hardest right now - the "simple" question I asked earlier is now pretty moot.

Being insecure is a bit of a cliche - but I feel like that's the reason I've lost a chance at this relationship and, maybe, one of my best friends. I've been so optimistic and happy ALL year - but soon as feelings are involved I turn into a wreck.

The truth is you're right and wrong at the same time. Men can open up more on their emotions now, BUT it's for a certain kind of man. Not every man. Emos, Gays, Goths, and a few others are allowed a bit more emotional leeway then other types. But for the most part, men are still put in a box when it comes to what emotions they are allowed to show.

To be quite honest, I'm quite a bit more disturbed when a man is crying then when a woman is crying. And I don't mean the above men, I'm talking about regular men. Last time I seen one of my friends cry was when someone in his family died and I only seen him cry like two times in my life. When I see a woman cry, I tend to assume it's over something minor. Especially when the situation is in public. Men crying is just uneasy and makes everyone uncomfortable. Women? Not so much.

I'm not a social outcast, though I have been called a hermit. I have enough friends to where I'm at a point where they tend to ask me for advice or a true opinion. I will agree with you that people conform to what ideals they think work or even what ideals are easiest to adhere to.

I do find it rather interesting how you think that gender is a sum of traits and tropes, when for standard people it tends to be just that. They will blame certain inadequacies on gender, however I raise to you this. If they are truly stereotypes, and you hate stereotypes do you not wonder where stereotypes come from? Stereotypes oftentimes come from truth or a very skewed form of truth. To have a stereotype there has to be some truth in what that stereotype is.

Though to me it seems like people just give up on what they wish to do.

I only truly divulge knowledge to people who seek it, otherwise I tend to be done in openly attempting to spread it as social ostracizing doesn't fit someone who tries to properly spread knowledge. People have to be willing to listen if someone wishes to pass on knowledge.

At some point there are some stereotypes we adhere to but it gets old and tiring the whole "women be crazy manipulative bitches." How am I supposed to help anyone that entrenched in bullshit?

Agreed. I try to do a lot of listening before I suggest anything, though, and it's only if I think the situation is appropriate. Sometimes girls just want to vent.
 
LadyGAF, when a girl compliments a guy frequently and says they're awesome (both with looks and personality-wise), but at the same time the guy is initiating most of the conversations, does it mean she's just trying to be nice and friendly? I ask this because I AM CONFUSED THE FUCK UP RIGHT NOW. @.@ I don't know if I'm just being played or if it's genuine.

I need advice!

Me and my coworker are really good friends. We hangout often and have a great deal of fun hanging out. This weekend when we were hanging out she showed me a picture she drew. The picture was of a heart with an arrow through it and under the heart it said "I love you!"

At first I didn't really think much of it, I just thought it was a fun little drawing she drew, so I just told her that I though it was a nice drawing. However, I'm now starting to wonder if she was trying to tell me something.

What is the opinion of lady gaf? Do you think it was just a fun picture she drew or was she trying to give me a hint? She is fairly shy and very proper, so I'm wondering if this is how she is trying to tell me she has feelings for me.

My one counter argument is that did not sound like a premeditated picture. She made it sound like she made it a few days back without the knowledge of me coming over. Plus, the picture showing was in the context of her showing me other stuff she had drawn, which is why I initial did not read anything into it.

However, she did dwell on it a long time, which is what is starting to make me think it had a little more meaning to it then I initially thought!

It could be nothing. Said female friend says I love you to me all the time but its in the context of friendship and I don't really put any other meaning to it. Wait it out and look for other signs of interest.

I will answer this in a serious way.

She has to WANT to do it. If she doesn't want to do it, but does it anyway, I don't imagine it'll be much good. You have to find something about it you enjoy. I don't think any girl does it because they're all like "yum. penis." They do it because they enjoy making their man feel good. It's psychological.

If she doesn't like anything about it I doubt your friend will be able to convince her to do it well, if he can convince her to do it at all. It's just not some peoples thing.
 
So there's this girl I've been sort of flirting with on and off for the last few months, I see her every once in a while at parties, and I am not quite sure what she thinks of me. Without getting too into details - the relationship used to be, her teasing the fuck out of me with her interesting style of blunt honesty and cursing like a cowboy-pirate. She added me to facebook and all that jazz, and we have occasionally talked on that, but nothing substantial.

Anyway, two days ago, was at a house warming and got pretty fucking drunk - she shows up well into my drunkeness and I start talking to her/blatantly flirting. Again, not too much detail, but because I was so drunk I had no problem taking the conversation to non-platonic places. Anyway, I don't REMEMBER everything she said to me, but I remember she wasn't upset or trying to leave, the friend I know her through (the one she came to this party to hang out with) left about 20minutes after she (the pirate swearing girl) showed up, and when she tried to get her to leave with her, she said "Nah, I think I'm going to stay a bit longer" "Why?" "Oh I'm just having fun talking" - but I was the only person she was talking to. Finally, when she did leave, she kept on mentioning the place she was going (a nearby bar) and telling me what times she would be there, which I think could have meant I could have showed up and hung out. And she ended our conversation with "Let's hang out, we should hang out, and you need to move closer to downtown, goddamn".

So - I know it's hard to many any sort of judgement calls without knowing this persons personality, or without getting a play by play of our every interaction, but I want to know if I can get any female insight as to what is happening. I try not to ask my friends about it, because I don't want to give them the idea that I have any particularly strong feelings for this girl - and then have word get back to her or something. I just want to know if I am going to end up making out with this girl or not :p.

Does he know her reason for not wanting to? Is it that she's turned off by the look or taste? Does she have some psychological hangup about performing the act?

He has to figure out what her problem with it is if he wants her to get over it.

I had a lady friend, that we used to be normal friend, like that we would chat sometime, see others occasionally, stuff like that. But after we had a very long (internet) chat from like midnight till morning, she suddenly became a bit cold. She stopped replying to my messages (I was away for like few weeks and couldn't see her during that time in person); and on top of that, I did something stupid and removed her from my facebook (I do occasionally remove all inactive people from my friend list), just don't ask me why I did this, totally stupid. Anyhow, like a week later she asked my why I removed her from the FB, and I told her the truth and the last thing she told me was that I should introduce her some activities to do on the facebook to keep her active, and that I shouldn't add her again till she'll remain inactive. So I thought she hadn't take it seriously. Now, she won't even look at me when she passes by me since then! As in were in the discussion group for like an hour with she sitting in front of me, and not only in during the discussion she wouldn't look at me, but when leaving she passed me by 20cm, and I was totally ignored.

I am furious!!! (mostly because I don't understand why?!)

well, I know it would be normally harsh, OK, it is harsh normal or not, but it took her like 10 days to find out, but anyhow, it's not something for someone to totally ignore you.
I haven't seen something like this happens, is it normal to get this mad over something this trivial?!!

I've got one for you LadyGAF, I'll try to keep this short. Let me know if there's some missing piece of crucial information you need to know.

My girlfriend and I have been together for 5 years and a few months now. Earlier this year I told her that I didn't believe in God anymore (formerly being Catholic, now an Atheist), and that I was silent for a little over a year at that point (This was March-ish of this year). She is a Methodist, and always has been. Lately it's seeming like we have been getting in fights over religion a lot lately. She's told me a lot of things that have me slightly freaked out, and at the very least extremely stressed out. Examples of this are "I think God is trying to tell me we shouldn't be together." She's also said on multiple occasions that if we get married, she wants me to not say anything to the kids until they are EIGHTEEN regarding what I believe. Formerly, she was saying up through thirteen and she's backtracked on that! I keep trying to tell her we can both present our sides, but it doesn't seem to be good enough for her. I really don't want to end this, and I keep trying to present a solution that is a compromise to both of us, yet she doesn't want that. Also, just of curiosity, is most of LadyGAF religious or not?

Dump her.

Her super ego (aka god) is in control. When you say you don't believe in her god you are basically saying you don't trust or believe in her. That's one reason why religious-GAF gets so offended when we mock their beliefs because their beliefs make up their psyche.

I forgot to mention she sort of backpeddled when she made that statement you bolded. I figured this was one of the answers I would get, and you probably shouldn't be surprised that I'm extremely reluctant to do that.

Maybe her "god" will become more tolerant of your atheism.

Who knows. All I just know is when religious people say that "god" wants or demands something what they are really saying is "I want or demand this."
