GAF doesn't tolerate bigotry.
Until the poster in question comes out and admits he's a bigot, I'm inclined to believe he's just underwhelmed by her appearance. Doesn't matter. It isn't my fight.

Well that sounds like something you can easily fix.Because it's not accurate. He had a sex change, she didn't, saying she had a sex change implies she is now a he, to me at least.
I don't really see the point in acting as if she wasn't male, I don't think that could upset her, it's not a secret.
Gross.
Good for him, I guess. But still, gross.
only if said poster has shitty opinions.
Well that's an entire can of worms, isn't it? At what point are you to be called a woman? What makes someone a woman? Is it which gender the person identifies with or is it what you're born with? Can someone really change their outward and to an extent inward form and change their gender? In any case, good for Lana.
lol is this seriousIt's incredibly ironic that some people don't see the hypocrisy in chastising other people for not agreeing with them or having an open mind/being progressive.
Like, "Let people do and think what they want, but if you don't think so too then fuck you!"
lol, this pronoun stuff pops up in EVERY thread about transgenders
It's the Chick-Fil-A thread all over again.lol is this serious
When have women ever been referred to as "he" or "him"?and its always treated the same way. BAN BAN BAN BAN screams instead of trying to say hey this is why you shouldnt say A or B.
The ones who preach tolerance tend to be the most intolerant
Her appearance in the Cloud Atlas video made me think about one thing:
Is there a consensus way to deal with your voice when becoming a woman at a later point in life? Because the way she just tries to speak at a higher pitch is kind of jarring.
Are there other ways to get over that? Does the voice not change when you undergo hormone treatment?
Be honest GAF.
It certainly does, but only against approved targets.GAF doesn't tolerate bigotry.

Apparently if you think sex changes are gross you don't fit in here. Way to be inclusive, GAF.
...
Well, I'm sure you'll last long.
Doesn't look much different than any other middle-aged woman I've ever seen. I hope she feels more comfortable now.
Let me guess? GAF is so bigoted against bigoted people right?!
Edit: You wouldn't happen to have example of these so called bigotry allowed groups?
No you don't fit in here.
I can understand this viewpoint, but I'm glad that there are more well-known, well-respected transgendered people in the public eye, if only so they can serve as role models and hope to others.I'll be honest... I honestly forgot that she was Larry previously. /shrug I guess I've known her as Lana for so long that I never really saw her as anything but that. Also, while I do understand the reason behind the need to publicize it, I can't but FEEL like we should be way passed caring about whether someone was born something or not. I doubt anyone in this thread is going to actually have any sort of relations with her, so I'm not sure why any of us should care. That's my thoughts on the matter.

Typically when they were born with a Y chromosome. It's disingenuous to act like everyone is on the exact same page with this issue. It's pretty complex.
And if you want some example: most religious people.
Heres a primer: Trans women are women so you use feminine pronouns. Trans men are men so you use masculine pronouns.and its always treated the same way. BAN BAN BAN BAN screams instead of trying to say hey this is why you shouldnt say A or B.

GAF is not inclusive of a lot of things
Bigots of various types are in that category.
All of the junior members comments in this thread have been gold.

Let's define personal preference and bigotry please.
If someone has personal preferences against a lifestyle that does not mean the same thing as bigoted. The worst goddamn conflation of definitions I've ever seen.

nobody cares about your 'personal perferences against a lifestyle' is the issue. you might just want to scroll away. and i'm not saying that in a glib manner. i'm saving an accounts life!If someone has personal preferences against a lifestyle that does not mean the same thing as bigoted. Good for her. Wondering how long she struggled with this.
Considering scientific, medical and even antropological views (or whatever you want to call the group of studies that fits Gender Studies) on the issue, no it is pretty simple.
Are you a Creationist ?
Regardless of your views on the issue, I don't know any trans individual who would like their situation labeled "simple". With all due respect (I can tell you mean well), that's really naive.
On a side note... While there's a fuckload more work to do, GAF has got noticeably more tolerant in the last few years.
